REAL kindness in and of itself seems to come easily to very few people. I am not talking about basic manners, like saying “thank you” or asking someone “how are you?”. I am talking about that true, altruistic generosity which so few of us posses as human beings. I am talking about the difference between a man who gives someone in need five bucks for a meal-or some hooch- versus the man who is willing to take that person into their own home, give them a place to lay their head, and help them to get back on their feet. The man who shows that true, selfless, raw, human compassion is indeed rare. And it is likely that so few of us will ever have the comfort of experiencing such generosity. One could consider themselves truly blessed if their life is lucky enough to be touched by someone who shows such selflessness. Because it is not a common thing nowadays, let’s face the facts. Sixty-two year old Steven Clark of San Clemente, California was one of those rare human gems. One who wouldn’t think twice about sharing whatever he had with someone in need for the sole reason that they are, as he is, simply a fellow human being.
Ricky and Conrad Morales were brothers that were born into a family and system that practically guaranteed that they never stood a chance. They were born to a drug addicted mother who sold drugs to support her habit. Their young childhood was one that was filled with drug abusers, drug deals, violence, SWAT teams, Child Protective Services, extreme physical abuse and neglect. They and their siblings were in and out of protective custody by CPS constantly.
Let me introduce you to 23 year old Ronald Dean King. Ronald is a bit of a loser who has a long criminal record. He over indulges in booze and drugs and has never managed to hold a steady job.
OK, so I underestimated his loser status. He isn’t merely a “bit of a loser”, he is a big time loser.
On November 23 2007, Ronald Dean King, drunk as a skunk and feeling a little frisky broke into a home in the Northern New South Wales (Australia) town of Grafton.
Sneaking through the house of sleeping occupants, King found the solution to his “friskiness” in the form of a sleeping four year old girl. She was staying the night with her grandparents who had tucked her safely into bed hours before.
Every now and then, admin forwards me an email from a family member complaining about some story we did about their loved one. The one we received today, concerning admin’s article on Carlton Wood, the convicted pedophile, is a perfect example of this type of email, except it was a bit more amusing than usual. So amusing, in fact, that after I sent a reply to Ms. Todd and forwarded a copy to admin so he could check it out, since I was responding for both of us, admin replied to me with the words, “Nice, post it as a post.” Great idea, don’t you think? So here it is folks, the infamous “Mary Todd” letter, along with our reply email. Hope you enjoy it:
Four months ago when I first researched the case to do a write up on; I decided to wait until it was complete. I would wait for the sentence to be handed down. Yesterday when I checked up on the story, this finally happened and I was looking over a few things just to make sure I had things right and something jumped out at me – something I absolutely couldn’t believe I missed this whole time.
The original story was going to be on Jessica Cummings, 27. Ms. Cummings was a day care provider in Wichita, Kansas. Ms. Cummings ran her day care out of her home; like a lot of day care providers do. She shared her home with her daughter and her sister, Tiffanie Williams, 30. Visit Her MySpace Page Here .
Some people have no shame. I mean, there are some people who have an unbelievable ability to ask us to believe the unbelievable, to pretend they have no character flaws, to say, “look what they’ve done to me” and at the same time say, “don’t you dare look at what I’ve done”. Check out this story from The Denver Post. You may want to refresh your memory by reading admin’s original story on Jon Phillips and Sarah Berry.
PARENTS OF BOY WHO STARVED TO DEATH FILE LAWSUIT
By KATIE OYAN Associated Press Writer
The parents of a 7-year-old boy who starved to death in the care of his mother’s ex-boyfriend have filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against the agencies that administer child-welfare services in Denver and Jefferson counties.
And the winner of Ms. Goth Orca Whale 2009 goes to (drumroll, please) Monica Mercado of Compton, California. Hold your applause people, please. Really. Hold them.
Well, readers, here is another one of those stories. A love story where something has gone wrong. You know, you start off normal enough, how boy meets girl, boy dumps girl, boy gets new girlfriend, boy gets new girlfriend pregnant, and-right about here it gets screwy-girl runs over pregnant girlfriend in a jealous rage. Yes, something is not right here, and that something not right is a psycho bitch by the name of Monica Mercado.
I like to think of myself as being a good mother. I have tried to build a stable and loving home where my children feel comfortable and secure. Their friends also like being at our home where they are provided with a never ending supply of milk and cookies. I always figured that this was normal “mumsy” behavior. Normal for you and i maybe, but not for 28 year old mother Melissa Huckaby. Her daughters playmates got an entirely different treatment.
Let me start at the beginning…..
Our tale starts on Friday 27th March 2009 when upon returning from school, 8 year old Sandra Cantu kissed her mum before heading off to play with friends at the Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park in Tracey, California where she lived.
