As far as most of us are concerned, those who drive under the influence don’t deserve legal representation and those who advertise that they can get people out of DUI’s are, quite simply, shitbags. The second thing that struck me – and which, I can only assume, was one of the main points of the documentary – was that Schuerrer was able to track her and the kids down because both she and, more importantly, her boyfriend Torgny Hellgren, were avid bloggers, sharing their lives on the internet with any- and everyone. This fed the german witch’s jealousy and stoked the fires of her rage, and when she was given information like the general area where Emma, Saga and Max lived, plus pictures of the house, the evil sherlock in her had all the tools he needed.

Sure, this also worked in the opposite direction, once the search for the murderer began, as it helped the police track Schuerrer down. But if you ask me, that was the only good thing to come out of it. Personally, I’ve never understood the desire to lay bare your entire life on the internet. Privacy settings mean fuck-all to the sickos out there, and though the majority of the bloggers and facebookers out there escape unscathed, I hope this case serves as a reminder of what can happen if you’re unlucky enough.

My heart goes out to Emma and all those around her. She truly is an amazing human being.
