ANDERS TO SPEND 98 YEARS IN PRISON, JURY: GUILTY OF ALL 10 CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGES

Navarro Mills, TX – A Navarro County jury found Kevin Wayne Anders, 35, guilty of 10 counts of possession of child pornography after about an hour of deliberations Thursday, and District Judge James Lagomarsino followed that up with ten 10-year sentences, to be served consecutively. It was his first felony conviction.
Possession of child pornography is a third-degree felony, with punishments ranging from two to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine for each count. Anders will receive credit for the time he has already served in the Navarro County jail since his arrest in September 2007, leaving him 98 years and four months.
His defense attorney, Alex Tandy, had asked for probation for his client, pointing out that looking at child porn wasn’t a danger to society.
The sentencing portion of the trial took only about an hour, with Kevin Anders taking the stand to say that he didn’t do the crime for which he was convicted, and blaming Dana Mack for downloading the child pornography on the computer.
Vicki Foster, assistant district attorney, argued that Anders was couldn’t be rehabilitated — which she called the purpose of probation — since he wouldn’t admit he had a problem.
Anders spent a lot of his moments on the stand denying the evidence and statements of other witnesses. Among other things, Anders denied: A plan to flee to Utah, downloading child porn, the fingerprints found on the evidence, ownership of the computer, using the computer during the night, thoughts of revenge against the Macks, knowing Shaun Arender, smoking dope with Arender, using drugs, or being out of work from October 2006 to April 2007.
“I’ve been convicted of this and I shouldn’t have been,” Anders said. “I don’t have no problem with kids.”
He also said he is a Christian and the adult porn he did admit putting on the computer was from a time before he joined the church.
“I don’t do criminal acts. I’ve spent my life trying to stay out of trouble,” he said.
Lagomarsino noted Anders’ reluctance to take responsibility for his actions when he handed down the long sentence.
Also taking the stand were Anders’ aunt, and his father, Clyde Anders, who have attended every day of the four-day trial. Both promised their emotional support if Anders was released on probation.
“He’s my son, and I love him,” Clyde Anders said. Clyde Anders is currently raising Kevin Anders’ 11-year-old son.
The jury deliberated only an hour and 15 minutes before returning guilty verdicts on each of the 10 counts. Four of the jurors returned Thursday afternoon to watch the sentencing portion of the trial.
Both District Attorney Lowell Thompson and Aoster praised the jury for their attention and diligence during a week of difficult evidence.
“We had a fantastic jury,” Foster said. “They were absorbed by the testimony. They did a fantastic job sorting through the evidence.”
Anders came to the attention of police after 6-year-old Hanna Mack was found sexually assaulted and hung in the garage next to the house Anders shared with his girlfriend, Dana Mack and her daughters.
While searching for evidence in the murder, police found papers referring to teen or child sex sites on the internet and seized Anders’ computer.
In February, Arender, 22, who lived down the street from the Mack/Anders household, pleaded guilty to the sexual assault of the girl and received a sentence of life without probation. In his confession, Arender implicated Anders in the murder, saying it was Anders who brought the girl out onto the porch in the middle of the night and urged the younger man to have sex with her before choking her to death.
No physical evidence was ever found linking Anders to the Hanna Mack slaying.
Kevin Wayne Anders may be the one of the vilest, most disgusting human beings I’ve ever had the displeasure of doing a report on. Even Shaun Arender, who confessed to raping and murdering 10-year-old Hannah Mack, at least showed some remorse for what he did. But this sack of human excrement got on the stand, testified he was a Christian, after which he proceeded to deny everything from downloading child porn to the fact that he couldn’t possibly be guilty because he had never been born and therefore never truly existed.
Kevin Wayne Anders is a pervayer of child pornography. I’m also convinced, as are all of the Law Enforcement officials who were involved in the Hannah Mack case, that he is at least as culpable for the rape and murder of little Hannah as Shaun Arender, and I don’t give a flying fuck who knows it. When the time comes for ol’ Kevin here to meet his maker, I hope that I’ve done enough good in this world to see Anders get his judgment in the next.

I don’t ever think I’ll be able to comprehend how lawyers are able to defend vile creatures like this guy and still be able to sleep comfortably at night. Seriously, no amount of money would ever make me defend someone like this, and try to get him away with the perversions he’s done.

He is 35 now so add that to the 108 years he will spend in prison and you have ….. 143 years old when he is eligable for parol.

Repeated studies have shown that there is virtually no evidence that proves that watching child porn predisposes someone to molesting a child. Arguing that child porn predisposes somebody to molest a child is just as fallacious as arguing that adult porn predisposes someone to commit rape.
