Ronald Dean King and Judge Chris Geraghty

interested-catLet me introduce you to 23 year old Ronald Dean King. Ronald is a bit of a loser who has a long criminal record. He over indulges in booze and drugs and has never managed to hold a steady job.

OK, so I underestimated his loser status. He isn’t merely a “bit of a loser”, he is a big time loser.

On November 23 2007, Ronald Dean King, drunk  as a skunk and feeling a little frisky broke into a home in the Northern New South Wales (Australia) town of Grafton.

Sneaking through the house of sleeping occupants, King found the solution to his “friskiness” in the form of a sleeping four year old girl. She was staying the night with her grandparents who had tucked her safely into bed hours before.

I think we all know where I’m heading with this story, so I’ll just cut to the chase. King removed his pants and underwear and proceeded to remove the child’s pajamas which woke her up. Waking up to find a strange man removing your underwear can never be a good thing when your four years old, and the child told him to “go away.”

But he wasn’t in the mood to listen. Instead he assaulted her. He masturbated himself and ejaculated all over her bed and left her so terrified that she could not stop shaking, not even when two of her sisters crawled into bed with her to try to calm her down.

The child’s obvious trauma was not Kings concern, and he fled the house, pausing to grab a can of soda from the fridge and trying to make his get away in the family car. The car wouldn’t start and he was forced to flee on foot.

He didn’t get far though and was soon arrested and taken in for questioning. Being the stand up guy he is, King admitted all saying,” I did not rape her but i did go there and i did molest her….i was leaning over her and masturbating and then i fucked off and left my shirt and shit there….and thats the dead set truth.”

He said he “acted without thinking. She was there, and I was there, I don’t know, I just started masturbating her and then started jerking off and shit.”

Now what do you think is a fair sentence for Kings crime? What would your idea of justice be for this child and her family?

I have my own theories of what id like to happen to Ronald King, but what  I think doesn’t matter. What you think doesn’t matter. All that mattered during Kings sentencing was what New South Wales District Court Judge Chris Geraghty thought. And Chris Geraghty was in a forgiving mood.

According to Judge Geraghty, this break and enter and the rape of a four year old defenseless child was an offense at the “lower end” of seriousness.

Apparently, sneaking into the room of a child, ejaculating all over her body, her clothes and her bed, and leaving her utterly defiled and terrified was no more than a “moment of drunken madness” in Geraghty’s eyes.

“You need to be punished,” he told King,”But you will punish yourself for it.”

Now theres a novel idea…letting the criminals punish themselves. Why have we not thought of this before?

Geraghty told King the seriousness of the offense was mitigated by the fact that “the child, when assaulted was asleep” and there was “no evidence of major damage” to her vagina and “no evidence of any continuing damage, either physical or psychological.”

If you’d like to read Judge Geraghty’s entire ruling, CLICK HERE.

So now we have a Judge who thinks he knows better than the examining physician and child psychologists who found the girl to not only have signs of trauma in her vagina, but also suffered symptoms of pain on urination and tenderness which was caused by penetration. She also suffers ongoing nightmares and violent outburst and the family has had to relocate to try and escape the terrible memories of the attack. Her parents marriage is at breaking point due to the stress they are experiencing and this little girls life will never be what it once was. Ronald King stole that from her.

After listening to King blab on about how “profoundly ashamed of what he’d done…terribly sorry… deeply embarrassed” and denouncing himself as “the scum of the earth” Judge Geraghty took pity on King and told him,” this is a terrible thing you did…this is your opportunity…i wish you all the best,”  and released him out into the community with a pathetic two year suspended sentence.

Understandably the girls parents, the community and the Department of Police Prosecutions were outraged and an appeal was lodged.

In upholding a Crown challenge, the NSW Court of Criminal Appeals finally jailed King for a minimum of four years and six months and a maximum of seven years.

The Court concluded that Judge Geraghty, a former Priest who has since retired, should have jailed him for at least six years and nine months instead of the paltry suspended sentence he handed down.

King will be eligible for parole on May 27, 2012.

Now this is not the first time Judge Geraghty has made headlines for “manifest  inadequacy.”

In September 2007  he jailed an extremely dangerous sex offender, Steven Roy Davis, for seven years, but then backdated the sentence to the time of the crime (2001) meaning  he would have been back out on the streets in 2008.

In September 2007, the NSW Court of Criminal Appeals doubled to five years a sentence Geraghty imposed on Hong Kong born money launderer See Hen Siu, who had shuffled more than half a million dollars through local bank accounts.

In June 2007 the same Court doubled a two year suspended sentence Geraghty gave to Lebanese born drug addict Ibrahim Nazi, who robbed two convenience stores at knife point and threatened to kill the staff.

In March 2006, the Court quashed a sentence given by Geraghty to a burglar, saying Geraghty erred when he described the offender as a “petty thief”. The offender had 16 previous counts of break and enter and steal on his record.

Now it seems to me that no matter how safe we think we are…you can never really trust anyone anymore and none of us can guarantee that we wont be affected by crime in some way or another. But as a general rule our Police men and women do a fantastic job of apprehending and building cases against the slimey little snots who try to steal our cars, brake  into our homes, molest kids and murder innocent people. But how is any of that of any use when we have Judges like Geraghty who condone and enable criminals?

I for one am glad he has retired and wont be passing out his brand of justice anymore. But unfortunately there will be more sentences like this as the courts are seemingly totally out of touch with the community.

Crimes against children, especially sexual offenses, deserve the harshest penalties possible. And at the moment that just is not happening.

    So Who Deserves Hell?

The real scary thing is that many court systems in the world today are NOT about law, but precident!
Very little arguement & debate is given to the law, but rather much time is spent in debating who got away with what in the past. Such bullshit is often refered to as “case law” – where laws are further twisted by past judgements.
I am sure that “case law” had a purpose – to insure that the laws were applied fairly through out the system despite the fact that the ssytem is made of many people with differing opinions.
BUT leave it to lawyers to pervert the origional intend. I am sure that a judge in the past went easy on someone because of certain circumstances = like the victim and the witnesses were not that credible or that the past crime did not quite fit into the definiitions, etc…. but I am sure that somebody stuffed a big offense into a small box here.

I winder who is defense lawyer was….

    2. Mazzi says:

Damn! There really should be an overview process for judges. They are practically sacrosanct here in the US. Unless there is clear, irrefutable proof that the judge broke laws, they are given almost complete freedom to hand down sentences, no matter how ridiculous they are.

I just don’t know what we can do. Mandatory sentences are a bad idea since there are always exceptions, and the exceptions almost always include basically innocent people being given retardedly stiff sentences. Ideally judges should be wise and have good common sense, but there is often a political agenda in selecting judges, and once they become a judge, it is practically impossible to remove them.

It’s a seriously fucked-up system. I kind of like the way Germany does it. They have a panel of three judges, one of whom is an ordinary citizen, and the other two are professional. Maybe we could modify our system to something like this – maybe three citizens and a professional, to satisfy the “jury of peers” stipulation in our laws.

      • Fred says:

It seems to me that when one enters law school, the part of the brain that is responsible for common sense is either removed or suffers from atrophy because it is not allowed to be used!

        • Alanna says:

Fred, I thought that was their sense of morality and ethics!!!!! =( Don’t tell me I have it all wrong? /cry

          • Fred says:

            You are right as well……
I feel that common sense is the foundation for ethics and morality, but when given a little more thought, ethics and morality may also be built on / share foundations with other virtues that I may have omitted…. which may make me a perfect candidate for law school :-(

    3. AC says:

OK, I’ve been very, very drunk, and I have friends who I’ve seen very, very drunk, and we’ve all done some stupid stuff while very, very drunk. But OUR moments of “drunken madness” involved stuff like puking in the sink at the women’s bathroom or peeing in a parking lot. Seems to me like the only person who would get drunk enough to molest a child is one who’d happily do it sober, as well.

      • Mandi says:

Amen, AC. Couldn’t have said it better, so I won’t try to elaborate.. Just, spot on!

      • Alanna says:

LOL, well generally I wouldn’t let a stranger eat whipped cream off of my naked breasts, but apparently with alcohol that was A-OK for me at the age of nineteen! That being said, I think that if you find a 4 year old girl to be a sexual object while drunk, you more than likely find them attractive when sober. Which is a sick sick thought. =/

      • The Bosses Secretary says:

I agree. If you get drunk and screw your pet dog, it’s not just because you were drunk. It’s because you’ve been thinking about screwing your pet dog, and sooner or later, you were going to.

      • Blondie says:

Yes, but did you ever puke on the bagel man then go home and call your academic advisor to tell them what you really think of them at 3am? :)

        • Amy says:

Exactly how much did you gals drink??? LOL. I must be a boring drunk.

          • Alanna says:

            One word: Tequila ;D

            • Amy says:

Oh yeah…tequila hurts. Did tequila shots all night at my hens party…not good!

            • poptart1 says:

LOL. I just had a flashback of being eighteen in TJ doing tequila poppers. After that, it gets hazy. No mas tequila para poptart1.

            • Alanna says:

POPTART!!! ME TOO! That’s where the whipped cream-fest occurred! I almost miss it ;D

            • poptart1 says:

Those were the days…times have certainly changed. I would have a fit if any 18 year old female in my family told me they were driving across the border to party in TJ for a night. It is just so much more dangerous than it used to be ten years ago. And I am not just talking about those bacon-wrapped hot dog carts.

            • NavyCop says:

Oh, tequila… I hate that stuff. It’s made me leave a poo on the dining room table and not recall an 18 hour flight to the middle east. I can’t drink that stuff anymore. Even thinking about hte taste makes me gag, lol

      • Fred says:

In most cases alcohol either intensifies certain emotions or breaks down inhibitions to express certain emotions. There will always be things we do drunk that we have no desire to do when sober – like puke our brains out, fall a lot, crawl, etc….
BUT when it comes to doing things like calling ones boss at 2 am, emailing ones own moon to someone else, etc…. those are things that we think of doing sober and the amazing powers of alcohol make it all possible!
As far as fucking the dog….. a thought that normally goes away is dwelled upon….. even drunk one must give such some thought,,,
Screwing a 4 year old…. the person probably is a bastard when sober…………..

    4. motherof3 says:

I had a moment of “drunken madness” on my birthday last year.
Needless to say it didn’t involve molesting a four year old after breaking into a stranger’s home.
It was more like, lean out the window of a van at two in the morning and scream at people to look at me because it was my birthday…and then I hit a sign.
It’s cool, because we were only going fifteen miles an hour. I got a nasty knot, but that was it.

    5. Lewbell says:

This guy is sick and AC is completely accrate in the fact that when drunk you let your inhibitions go. You do things that you have never had the courage to do or things that you have always wanted to try. This “bum” thought about molesting a little girl before this point and he just thought that he would get away with it because it was a random crime.

    6. poptart1 says:

These kinds of Judges have no business in their positions if they refuse to protect society from predators like this jerk off who think it is ok to stroll into peoples homes and assault sleeping children.

Absolutely disgusting. Both should go to hell.

      • Monica says:

Wonder what the sentence would have been had the little victim been a relative of this asshole judge? He obviously DOES NOT have a child of his own, cause all he would have to do is think as if it was his own flesh and blood that this had happened to and he would have done what was right – cut off Ronald King’s dick and then proceed to shove said dick up Ron’s own ass…GUARANTEE that ole Ron would think twice about EVER doing that again!

    7. MBSMsBadAss says:

      “…Judge Geraghty, a former Priest…”

Max, those words explain it all.

      • Jessi says:

That’s exactly what I thought! He has probably had his own “moment of madness” in the past. I find it hard to believe that any person of sound mind could not see what kind of criminal this guy is.

I guess it is possible that because he was a priest, he is just super-forgiving and wants to “help” these criminals by going easy on them…”giving them a chance” or whatever, but I have trouble buying that. What happened to that little girl is just horrific! I can’t imagine how a judge would not consider her a terrorized victim. I think two years…probated none the less…is just ridiculous. Thank goodness there is an appeal system that allowed a harsher sentence to be handed down. I still think he deserved more of a sentence than what he got.

    8. Blondie says:

I wish that I could say that this judge’s erratic opinions were a new phenomenon. But they are not. I worked my way through college working as a med tech (today, it would be the equivalent of an advanced life support paramedic – what do you want, I carpooled with Fred Flintstone) in the emergency room of a small hospital. I remember that we had this little boy as a patient starting when he was around 4-6 months old. We always knew when CPS returned him to his mother, as he would end up in the ER within a few days. We documented the injuries and reported it. But the judge on his case kept returning him to his mother. The child did not live to see his second birthday. The injuries that he received were not as a result of child abuse, but of torture. That was when I began to despise CPS, child abusers and drunk drivers. It is a sad thing that this man sat on the bench for as long as he did. But at least he is retired and can do no more damage.

    9. Amy says:

One of the things i left out of the story is that Ronald King is an aborigional man. I didnt think his race had anything to do with his crime. He could have been black, white, pink or blue for all i care, and that does not change the disgusting nature of what he did.
But in sentencing ( i just read the sentencing doc all the way through) Judge Chris Geraghty sarted by pointing out,” King is a man of aborigional origin?” And this has left me wondering if the mans race had effected Geraghty’s reason when he handed down the sentence.
So i did a bit more research and i have to say when i googled ‘Aborigional groups-Judge Chris Geraghty’ his name came up A LOT!!!
He is a supporter of an Aborigional group called Garmarada- Mens Self Healing Program.
The group itself does great work, dont get me wrong…but i wonder how much his personal beliefs and feelings got in the way that day? And would he have given a harsher sentence if the man had of been white or asian…anything other than aborigional?

      • Mazzi says:

Typical liberal enabler shit. Making “victims” from the perpetrators.

I understand that concept if a man is dirt poor and steals a loaf of bread. I can maybe (just maybe) understand it if the dirt poor guy steals a T-bone steak. But because Australia has treated it’s Aboriginal citizenry as second-class, to forgive the rape of a baby? Where is the correlation? There can not be an Aboriginal cultural norm that allows baby rape.

I swear, the more I read about these libtards, the more I think they are mentally ill. The judge needs a padded cell and Ronald needs his nuts cut off with no anesthesia.

    10. Archangel says:

Im not worried about King, he’ll be taken care of in prison. Its the judge that bothers me.

    11. Sandy says:

what a sick bastard.. yes, I think that he must have had thoughts of this prior to the incident… its like “dutch courage” where you say what you really feel when you have had a few too many… then later blame it on the drink. This bastard used the oh I was drunk line to try to get away with it, but I believe it was something that he had thought about before.
And it doesnt matter what race he is, he should be castrated for sure.

    12. Sandy says:

And yes, as Archangel says… he will get whats coming to him eventually… hopefully he will get brutally raped in prison!!

    13. DualDenz says:

      speechless here……
can we have an added voting button? in this case the option “headshot” would be perfect!

    14. Kathy says:

I don’t understand how the judge could have ignored medical evidence that the vagina had been injured from penetration. How are judges allowed to dismiss medical evidence?

      • Amy says:

Like i said, his personal views about the treatment of Aborigionals in Australia MUST have clouded his judgement.

    15. eternal says:

fuck you, judge geraghty! you are an asshole and you should share a cell with king!

    16. Zombie Girl Cindy says:

Where did this Judge get his job…. Cereal box?…Cracker Jacks?

    17. Martin Kilmer-True says:

Hey, great site, Though this makes me want to vomit…I personally believe that any sexual offense should have a minimum minimum of 10 years, with exceptions for a 16 year old and 15 year old both consenting….eternal damnation has not been earned by these men…but hell? Definitely.

    18. johan smittster says:

      Former………priest………….

      Who judges the judges?

    19. Holy Website Batman says:

This is why priests shouldn’t be judges.

1.) The creepy connection between priests and pedophilia.
2.) priests are trained to forgive not to condemn.

I like hellfire in a Judge. Gimme Kenesaw Mountain Landis.

      • VCBecky says:

This is also why religions shouldn’t be in charge of governments.

Who is this Judge of Hellfire you named? I will look him up. I love those guys.

    20. Holy Website Batman says:

Kenesaw Mountain Landis was the man who became the first commissioner of Majro League Baseball He tossed out the Black Sox in 1920, despite them beating the federal charges of tampering and conspiracy. He was a MEAN judge before that though.

Although I think he had some scandals as well.

Judge Judy will do in a pinch :)

    21. Kate says:
