A lot of the time, when I'm reading about rapists and murderers and the like (which I do quite often), the rapists/murderers/cannibals/ of the above are described as being heavily into bondage, BDSM, or other "dangerous" fetishes. Sometimes the word "sadistic" is even used when it's entirely inappropriate. While I don't doubt that this contributes to assault rather often, I do find it unsettling how people are starting to associate what is normally an enjoyable, consensual act with murder and rape. For most people, things like that occur between people who love eachother very much (I sound like I'm giving the birds and the bees talk-jeesh). BDSM, masochism, sadism, bondage, and anythin else that might come to mind of that nature is as much an undeniable part of a person's sexuality as sexual orientation is, and is in no way sick or disturbing. Now, there are some cases where people do become obsessed with thoughts of violence, like in the case here, but really, don't judge a book by a few insane readers. And that doesn't seem premeditated to the judge? Wouldn't that have taken forever? If he was sorry about it he wouldn't have had the time nor the patience to do that. Only people who are terrified about getting caught could sit there for hours doing that and not get sick.
