I choose this path because I've had indoor and indoor/outdoor cats, and invariably something outside is what kills the latter and the indoor cats live much better and longer lives. Example: Widge, he owned us for 11 years, and in that time, he survived BB's and a 22 bullet going all the way through both shoulder blades and just missing his heart. These assaults happened outside, not inside. What finally killed him were small little pellets of what are called "Rat Shot" that contain arsenic and other poisons in fragmenting .22 caliber sells. The grandson of one of my neighbors was responsible, but nothing was ever done. Now, with the reflection of years, I look back and wish I had done the needful and kept my cat indoors. Not because the asshole who repeatedly shot and ultimately killed my cat doesn't deserve a quick castration and a long sentence in Hell, but because I cannot make the world a safe and fun place for my cats, but I can pretty much insure one within my home and on my own back porch. (it was outside) now, I have another cat, cassie, and my mother has 2 other cats called gizmo and espa. we found the green rat poison pellets in the bowl, but we didn't see who did it. well, there are some idiots out there.
