UPDATE: Statement by Erik von Brunn, Son of James Whitaker von Brunn

Following Is A Statement By Erik von Brunn, A Son Of James von Brunn, The 88-Year-Old Man Accused Of A Shooting Attack At The Holocaust Memorial Museum In Washington, D.C.:

My father’s beliefs have been a constant source of verbal and mental abuse my family has had to suffer with for many years. His views consumed him, and in doing so, not only destroyed his life, but destroyed our family and ruined our lives as well.

For a long time, I believed this was our family’s cross to bear. Now, it is not only my families lives that are in shambles, but those who were directly affected by his actions; especially the family of Mr. Johns, who bravely sacrificed his life to stop my father.

I cannot express enough how deeply sorry I am it was Mr. Johns, and not my father who lost their life yesterday [Wednesday]. It was unjustified and unfair that he died, and while my condolences could never begin to offer appeasement, they, along with my remorse is all I have to give.

While my father had every right to believe what he did, by imposing those beliefs on others he robbed them of their free will. His actions have taken opportunities away from many people and forced decisions not expected, nor warranted, to be made that otherwise would not have been necessary.

For the extremists who believe my father is a hero: it is imperative you understand what he did was an act of cowardice. To physically force your beliefs onto others with violence is not brave, but bullying. Doing so only serves to prove how weak those beliefs are. It is simply desperation, reminiscent of a temper tantrum when a child cannot get his way. Violence is a cop out; an easy answer for an ignorant problem.

His actions have undermined your “movement,” and strengthened the resistance against your cause. He should not be remembered as a brave man or a hero, but a coward unable to come to grips with the fact he threw his and his families lives away for an ideology that fostered sadness and anguish.

I apologize to friends and family who have been inundated with the media blitzkrieg you have been suffering through. While I understand it is the media’s job to report as much as possible, I can only hope they have the restraint to curb the sensationalism they have thus far been reliant upon.

Again, my father’s actions are unforgivable. I do not expect, nor will I accept forgiveness for what he has done. I realize there is nothing positive to be taken from this incident. It is empowering, however, to know our country’s resistance and intolerance for such acts of hatred has been bolstered in the face of this tragedy. I humbly ask you respect our privacy and allow us to grieve and attempt to rebuild our family, along with the other families affected by what has happened.

Why didn’t the family get him committed?

      • Rina says:

There’s nothing wrong with having an unpopular belief. Assuming he never did anything violent to others or himself before this, there’s no way to get him committed. Just being a racist asshole isn’t enough.

    2. Allie says:

The bravery of this individual knows no bounds. While we are quick to “tar all with the same brush” this just goes to show that there is only one person ever accountable for our actions – ourselves.
The chap who has written what I can only describe as an eloquent and heartfelt message deserves to be treated with the utmost respect.

There are many mothers, father, siblings and friends out there who as I have seen on the “hate mail” section of this website are blinkered in support to their kin, despite the horrific atrocities committed by their loved one.

Well done Mr van Brunn – it could not have been at all easy to write what you have. Foremost, I am glad to see that you have not taken your father’s views as your own as sadly tends to be the pattern in such environments.

I wish you all the best during this difficult time.

    3. Kathleen says:

Erik has displayed a bravery far and above what I would have thought anyone raised in such an environment would be capable of.

    4. Mazzi says:

A class act. I don’t know him of course, but I am proud of him, and I am profoundly sorry that he and his family were placed in this horrible mess.

This is proof that evil does not always beget evil, and the next time someone blames a criminal’s upbringing for their actions, I intend to reference this post.

    5. Kathy says:

What startled me about Jame Von Brunn is his age. He must hold the record for being the oldest terrorist ever. WTF. Unfortunately, even if he’s given the death penalty, he probably won’t live long enough to be executed.

I’m glad Erik isn’t following in his father’s footsteps. Erik is almost as much a victim as the family of the officer who died in the line of duty.

    6. Rick Calvert says:

      Hey Erik -

Thanks for posting this message. And consider not rejecting forgiveness from wherever and whenever it comes. It makes everyone stronger.

    7. Adrea says:

He did a good job raising a decent son. I am proud to live in a world with people like Erik. He is someone to look up to.

      ::gives standing ovation::

    8. dooflotchie says:

“I realize there is nothing positive to be taken from this incident.”

I don’t agree. It’s clear from your statement, Erik, that your father’s hate-mongering ways were NOT shared by your family and you turned out decent in spite of what must have been a difficult childhood at best. You are intelligent and caring enough to not allow your father to warp you, and you’re an example to any kid who has to deal with a parent who is as screwed up. I only wish you had come to make a public statement like this under different circumstances.

    9. Blondie says:

      Bravo Eric.

    10. glorybug says:

Wow. Someone finally posted here and apologized for their family member’s crimes?.

      Did hell just freeze over?

      Thank you, Eric.

It was even better that that glorybug – Erik von Brunn released this statement to the national media. Judging by the few grammatical errors I noticed (sorry, it’s hard to turn off the editor in me now) this wasn’t written by a publicist, or a lawyer. I’m positive Erik von Brunn wrote his statement himself, and that these are the actual words of a good man who’s really hurting over the damage his father has done.

Like you, I’ve gotten pretty jaded by the people we write about here using every trick in the book to duck responsibility for their actions, and their idiot family members and friends who do the same. It’s a shame that people like Erik von Brunn, people who can accept reality and feel compassion for the victims of their family member, are such an endangered species nowadays.

    11. Baddie76 says:

      An astounding young man.

I am impressed and saddened that such a man had to be subjected to the thing that called himself this young man’s father.

    12. alyxzandra says:

      Brilliant.

    13. serenade says:

I don’t know how this man turned out as compassionate as he did, but I’m thankful for his sake and the sake of his family that he was able to see his father for what he is. I think it was exceptionally brave and heart-felt. I hope these folks won’t be judged harshly by those who don’t understand the situation.

    14. jackumup says:

Pathetic! that is what he is. you people are ignorant to reality, What Von Brunn did was wrong, but what he believed was true, turn off your TV sets and stop getting your news from MTV, take a walk to your local library and get books out on life in this country before WW1, look for picture books, see what the cities were like and what they are now, read about where the jews originated from, who ran the bolsheviks in Russia, why the Germans wanted the jews removed, why was the ADL formed, Why was B’nai B’rith formed, why is israel full of Russian jews with no association to the middle east, why do we have tax payer supported holocaust museums and no museums to WW2 vets, how come they constant mention of jews killed and no other deaths are mentioned, why was a federal security guard (armed) working at a museum dedicated to a foreign entity, Why is it against the law to question the holocaust in some countries, why when the country is broke do we send 3 BILLION dollars to israel, why is it every day every major news paper has to mention israel, why is there no museums, memorials or discussion about the king david hotel or USS liberty or a thank you from any jews to the vets who saved their asses from the so called gas chambers. the jews have been thrown out of every country in the world their running out of places to hide.

      • Max The Cat says:

LoL…you’re joking, right jerkumoff? You mean book like the “bible” of antisemetics, The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a book that has been debunked so many times by historians without an agenda that it’s pratically worthless except as a monument to ignorance.

Oh jerkumoff, I hope you keep coming back. I’d really enjoy ripping your guts out in a good debate.

        • jackumup says:

your names pussy right, these are facts even a penis sucker like you can see, they are self evident, they are right in front of your hooked nose hymie, your childish jewish name calling won’t save you, there is no conspiracy here f##k nuts just truth

          • Max The Cat says:

Childish name calling? Like pussy, and penis sucker? If you’re going to pretend to take the high road jerkumoff, you’re off to a really bad start. Like most racist, it’s just way to easy to push your buttons and get you to act like the ignorant redneck that you are.

People who hate because of race or religion aren’t very bright, that’s self evident. Show me something that hasn’t changed in the last 100 years and I’ll show you, well, people like you. Anti-Semites have been blaming Jews for their own failings for thousands of years, and using pretty much the same tired arguments to do it. Jews control the banks, Jews control the government, Jews control entertainment. Jews even got the blame for the Black Plague during Medieval times. Now that must have taken some thinking, to blame a group of people for a disease. Looks to me like you morons haven progressed much since then.

By the way, I’m 1st generation Italian-American and was raised Roman Catholic. But I have no problem being Jewish, especially if it annoys you jerkumoff.

            • glorybug says:

You don’t have to hate an entire group of people just because you don’t like some of their activities. I don’t like the fact that people are rarely reminded about all the other people that were killed in the ‘Jewish Halocaust’. Why not have museums that honor ALL the halocausts this world has seen? Here in the US that would make it quite appropriate to honor those that died in the Native American Halocaust. I’m sure the Armenians would like that as well.

I also don’t think that we should be giving a penny of aid to Israel or any other country, for political rather than humanitarian reasons when there are so many people here that need help. I don’t think the US should be getting involved in Israel’s disputes, especially over land that was not acquired properly. But that’s just my opinion.

That said, it would be pretty stupid of me to hate an entire people just because I don’t like their countries’ political agenda, or because their museums don’t include honor for any other halocaust victims. You don’t have to hate people just because you don’t agree with some of them. Blanket hatred based on ethnicity isn’t very intelligent.

On the other hand, I have no problem hating murderers and child molestors and animal killers, because it’s common to any enthnicity. So if you’re going to hate, hate people for what they individually do, not because you are just a flat-out racist. It doesn’t matter that this POS hated Jews, or that he killed a black man in a Jewish museum. What matters is that he killed a PERSON. The only thing he proved was that he was a hateful, evil man.

I have a question in regards to Glorybug’s posting and this overall issue with Israel and the Gaza Strip and so on.

The Jewish religion does not believe in Christ as the Son of God.

The Muslim religion does not believe in Christ as the Son of God

The Gaza Strip is known/recognized, correct me if I’m wrong here, as the birth place of Jesus Christ.

Exactly why do these 2 religions want a piece of land that has such strong ties to something neither believes in?

I’m serious here folks, someone explain this!

            • glorybug says:

I wonder what religion this POS was, as my BAC missionary adoptive parents really believe that if/when the ‘Jews’ take over and rebuild the Temple, the end-days will come and they’ll get swept up into heaven. They don’t actually like Israel, but they support anything they think will result in the war that will supposedly start the end-times. They are intelligent people- they both have degrees- and my father knows English, Hebrew, Spanish, Portuegese and German.

Even so, as BACs, they don’t believe any Jews will get into heaven, and the only reason they support Israel is because they think it will fulfill one of their prophesies. My father is very excited about news about a certain kind of heifer that had been born (and might now be cloned) as a precurser to end-times.

As was asked earlier in the thread- I don’t know what Muslims think per se, but my impression is that they, too, have some sort of end-time prophesy that involves war with Israel.

This killing has not accomplished what the killer wanted.. By killing someone of a race that was only peripherally involved with his generic hatred, he essentially ruined his chances of being being taken seriously with his racist friends. And proved that he was just a hate-monger in general. A google search brings up forums where white supremicists (sp?) are lamenting his actions and expressing that because he killed no Jews (only a ‘black person’) he wasn’t really the martyr they wanted. And that now they are going to get negative press. Boo hoo.

I checked out the Vangaurd website. Gee, hate people much? My fiance and I were kind of amused that his ethnic people (Spanish and Mexican Indian) were referred to as ‘mud people’. We’d never heard that.

I wonder what the racist POS would have called me? I look white. But I’m Native American ( I like to just say Indian, but there are Native Peoples who don’t like that) Potowatomi and Ukrainian. On both sides of my family tree I have ancestors who dealt with holocausts that are not memorialized. It’s just a fact.

This person may have had an underlying health problem such as senility or Alzheimers or a personality disorder which combined with a previous hatred for certain groups, led to his crime. I think the son has said as much- and it’s too bad that previous presidencies tax-saving policies resulted in people like this not being commited BEFORE they commiterd a crime.

I would be willing to pay an extra tax of $5 a year in order to keep mentally ill committed, and sexual offenders tracked. How many people live in the US? Times that by $5 a year, and you have a pretty good budget for protecting society..

I’m glad the son has trashed on his father Who needs a father like that? I’m also sad for him, because everyone deep down wants a father and a mother they can respect, who can lay the groundwork for becoming a good, respectable person. It takes a lot of strength to rally against what you’ve been taught, and what you’ve grown up with to say- this is wrong. It’s called ‘thnking outside of your childhood box’.

It seems like there was a whole lot of dysfunction in this family, but unlike so many other stories, the fact that this POS’s son has stepped up and rejected what the POS has done leads me to believe that there is hope for him and his family, and that he will be able to rise above the stigma his obviiously racist and abusive childhood. I wish him the best of luck.

My primary school teacher used to say that people who swear are clearly ignorant as they don’t have the vocabulary (that means big words by the way) to cope in an intellectual (that means testing) situation…

It does worry me that people like you are out there… I mean, are you allowed out in society and all that? Luckily I think you are American, so I’m sitting pretty and safe from you in the UK, however people like you are everywhere…

          • Blondie says:

First of all Jack, are taking facts out of context and twisting them to further your own pathetic agenda. THAT is racism, which in my book is nothing more than stupidity. Why are there armed guards at a museum honoring the dead through genocide? Hello…because there are idiots in the world like von Brunn who might try to come in a start shooting. Why is there no museum to honor WWII vets? There is a fund in progress to build one you putz.

You are nothing more than a simple minded, paranoid, pathetic excuse for a troll. Statistics can be used to make any argument, but there is no argument for stupidity or lack of empathy. Go crawl back under your rock with the rest of the slugs jack.

            • Mazzi says:

Museums get built because PEOPLE build them. Government may provide some money, but it is done by individuals who fund-raise, contribute, plan and do. So, people who were affected by the Holocaust did these things, and created a museum.

Why no WW2 vet museum? First of all, I bet you a bazillion bucks that there are many. They may be small and unknown, but as described in the first paragraph, I am sure that many localities and small groups of individuals have opened museums in small towns and cities throught the country.

So – why no NATIONAL WW2 museum? Because no one has stepped up to the plate and taken control of creating one. The government only subsidizes museums, as a benefit to all of us citizens, thus allowing many established ones, like the Smithsonian(s), to be free to the public. Sort of like libraries – it is seen as a worthy expense for society.

So Jackoff, instead of spending your time whining about how sucky it is that there is no museum, why don’t you research and contact groups that are coordinating efforts to create one? Or is that too much trouble?

As I stated before, every race has its trash.
I will also state that there are reasons why stereo-types exist

        Lazy N*****r
        Freakin Rican
        Irish Drunkard
        JAP

But a person is not one of the above just because of their ancestory.
I work for a Jewish man who can be tight with cash, but does reward a job done well. I worked for an indian (from india) who at times was so cheap, that there were Jews who took lessons from him!
So to all you racists – stop holding people to stereo types, let people slot themselves

Fred- you are so right. I wouldn’t be here today without a sense of humour.

As a Potowatomi Indian/Ukrainian, I’d like to submit these jokes. No different from how certain groups can use the N word without punishment when it applies to themselves.

Why couldn’t the Indian get into the restaraunt?
Because he didn’t have a reservation!

How many Indians does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
          None. They’re too drunk.

I’ve heard more- just not sure they were actually funny. I’ve heard my share of offensive ‘women’ jokes.

So far, being a vegetarian, a female, a feminist/masculinist, Potowatomi/Ukranian pro-choice artist and mother has not resulted in me getting murdered. Yet.

You have to have a sense of humour about life or you will die early and bitterly. Laughter was one of the things Pandora let out of the box. It was a coping mechanism to deal with all that other shit.

No way am I putting my life in danger” This stupid bitch wants to have someone like ‘jackumoff’ flying the plane.

Quote away bro – I looked up some of jackumoff’s posts on Vanguard too, and he’s the prize pig in the poke. He seems to be the website lapdog, running from thread to thread, posting sycophantic comments so he can get a pat on the head by some of the more established hate mongers on the site. It would be really pathetic if it wasn’t so damn funny.

Whats wrong with having been born with a vagina? They are certainly better looking than that other thing men seem to be so proud of…

          • glorybug says:

            Thank you.

If my vagina was such a piece of shit, why have so many men over my lifetime wanted to ‘get into it’? Even at my ‘cougar’ age, why do they still want it?

So funny how people screw up with their racist BS when they also include women. Women of any race. They make babies with all races of women. They just don’t pay child support.

Hate mongers are not able to be understood They generally even hate kittens, who are the embodiment of all that is pure and goodly and right about the world. And, they are fluffy.
Hate the kitten-haters— chances are it will save you time from hating the murderers, molesters and child-killers. Because they are one and the same.

I do have to disagree about the whole ‘private parts’ bit. I am heterosexual, and I find men’s parts to be very interesting. Most of the time. Some of the time not. I’m pretty fond of my own parts, but that’s neither here nor there.

Love the one you’re with, and stop hating everyone else.

I am on the wall so to speak but I like breasts, and i find that although a vagina isn’t the most beautiful thing in the world, at least its tucked away nicely and isn’t out there dangling like some sort of disgusting worm…Also I’ve noticed that although with soap and a nice lotion my parts will smell like soap and a nice lotion… balls somehow always smell like balls.

so other than childbirth, i feel like our parts are fairly superior, with some exceptions =)
either way, these racist retards should be sterilized asap… and their fuck buddies….

            • glorybug says:

You just totally made me laugh!

I also like breasts, and as an artist, I find the female form more compelling generally.

I have never once regretted being born female, even with all the baggage it carries. I can’t imagine having my private parts ‘dangling’ (as you said) out and about. And I have had 2 children. So I’m pretty ok with being female. My real-life name actually means ‘girl’, and I’ve always liked that. I would never trade being female. That said, I really adore men, and like women as well. I just don’t like mean, evil, murderous child-killers and animal abusers.

It is true that probably any vagina will smell like peaches and cream(and vagina) if washed with peaches and cream. It also follows that any person’s balls will smell like peaches and cream (and balls) if washed with peaches and cream.

I’d like to suggest that anyone’s privates might be more attractive if they smelled like peaches and cream- or butterscotch, or whatever smell you prefer. It totally makes me laugh thinking that most people just generally don’t like the ‘natural’ smell of either vaginas or balls. And it makes me laugh that I just typed that.

            • Max The Cat says:

I hope you ladies don’t mind a man’s perspective on the topic you’re discussing – I just hope I can keep it clean enough to not sound like a Penthouse Forum letter.

Now it’s been my experience that vagina smells like a cross between rainbow trout and warm pizza (The good, Pepi’s of New Haven CT pizza, not that Dominos crap). While I have no experience smelling other men’s scrotums (and have no plans to, even in the name of research), I always believed it’s just common courtesy to shower regularly to keep that area smelling fresh, perhaps even adding a dash of baby powder. And breasts? Ah, what are breasts but proof of God’s existence and his love for humanity. The whole thing with Jesus dying on the cross was cool, but a fantastic pair of perky breastessezs will have me thanking God for my life, and nobody even needed to be crucified.

But a vagina that smells like peaches and cream? Holy shit, break out the cold showers boys! I’m cutting to the head of the line!

I had to check – jackumoff is a regular poster on the Vanguard Forum – he’s for real! He actually believes that racist bullshit. What a dumbass!! I love this guy :) He actually made me laugh enough to make a little stupid smiley. Now if he would just die. Can we vote for him to go to hell?

    17. Mama_bear says:

Simple and to the point – The wrong man died that day, the racist ‘mofo’….died years ago…..soul and all.

Welcome to the kingdom of hell…..you served your master well, now you’ll see what real hate is!

    18. Ormazd says:

Von Brunn was a sick man under the delusion of some paranoid fantasies such as blaming all our current woes on “the Jews” as our ‘friend’ jackamup is also under the delusion. The world of instant gratification IRC chat and the mind-world that it creates certainly fed Von Brunn’s paranoia. Hopefully the widow of the guard he murdered will sue for his estate. That being said, there was an element of truth to what he said, and if not, the paranoia couldn’t have been fed. That kernel of truth is that the Nazi death machine consisted solely of ’starvation camps’ and shootings, not the fabled gassings that we’ve been led to believe. Although no less horrific, maybe more so, if the facts were to be uncovered without the purile labelling of “holocaust denial” then perhaps such paranoiacs would be at last stopped in their tracks.

      To Jack-em-off:

      1. The Jews have ancestors in the middle east, although they are mostly ‘white’. For your info, I’m not a jew.

      2. The Bolsheviks were largely jewish in origin, though disaffected turk0/tatar and other minorities also played a large role in the formation of the early communists, while the international was largely Germanic/ Jewish. You win this one.

      3. The ADL was formed in response to anti-jewish/semitism in turn of the century Atlanta after a factory boss was found guilty of raping one of his workers.

      4. Plenty of museums exist to WWII vets, including state, national military parks, as well as private institutions.

      5. Our government supports the research of “social behaviors among naked mole rats” as well as any number of other useless wastes. This proves nothing.

      6. The U.S. Liberty sinking is probably de-emphasized due to the large Israeli-lobby, but then so are our declining fuel reserves and the state of national healthcare. Lobbies run our government. APAC is no different than the rest.

      7. Read my post, jack-em-up? and wonder. I don’t hate ‘the Jews’ I just don’t believe in the current rendition of the ‘holocaust’. It is sad that you seem to, and have no remorse.

      Peace brothers.

      • Max The Cat says:

I can appreciate what you’re saying Ormazd. You’re obviously not a hate monger, just a guy with a different opinion. Who knows, you may be right. It’s not people who educate themselves and come up with different conclusions than I do that I object to, it’s people who take on extreme views purely out of ignorance and hate.

And while we’re on the subject, people on this side of the fence, who hysterically condemn anyone who violates the status quo, are just as annoying and hurtful as any racist nut case. I don’t have much use for either type of person. Ignorance is ignorance, no matter what your beliefs are.

      • Mazzi says:

Ormazd, I won’t argue with your contention, since I was not there. But there are a hell of a lot of eye witness reports that indicate that gassing did occur, and frankly, the odds are that it did. Here’s why. By the end of the war, the Jews (slaves) had played out their usefulness and the Germans were already operating on limited resources. They could not hold these huge quantities of people and not get anything from it. Even if they were starving them, there were massive numbers of them. Not enough were dying by attrition, and keeping young children, sick people, or people who seemed like they might incite others to rebel would be a further stress on their system.

A quick death machine, capable of killing large numbers of people in a short time would seem like a logical concept, and gas was cheap, easy and could take out hundreds or thousands in quick order. It seems like they COULDN’T have not thought of the idea.

Anyway, I just know that all of my extended relatives died during WW2. My grandparents were Orthodox Jews from Poland and Hungary. Their parents emigrated, but uncles, aunts and cousins were left behind, never to be heard from again. Gassed, shot or starved? Who really cares? The end result is that they died, along with millions of others.

        • Miwist says:

I suppose in the grand scheme of things, it really doesn’t matter how the Holocaust happened, meaning how innocent people were killed, but the fact that it did happen. I don’t think the number of people killed matters, although I do believe the number is 6 million.
What matters to me is the fact that people have been killed and will continue to be killed because of their religious beliefs and the color of their skin – people like von Brunn and jackumup will see to that.
Their ignorance and fear will deprive the rest of us peace – and it sucks that these ignorant fuckers are making stupid decisions that will affect the world my kids are growing up in. I don’t want my kids to grow up in a world filled with hate, and war, and racial strife – and I dare anybody like jackumup to go toe to toe with me.
And incidently – I admire Erik von Brunn for standing up to his father – he has a rare integrity and strong heart. I wish him well, I’m sure this is a very difficult time for him. Losing a father is terribly heart-wrenching and I share his pain.

    19. AG says:

Utmost respect for Erik von Brunn right now. It takes courage to write a letter like that, just as it must have taken courage for him and his family to make themselves better people than the maniac to whom they sadly find themselves connected.

And people, leave hate-filled trolls like jackumup and ormazd to wind each other up with lies and paranoia. Maybe we’ll get lucky and they’ll go shoot each other — two more wackos the decent folk won’t have to worry about.

      • Ormazd says:

Thank you for borrowing my term, “paranoiac”.

Anyhow, hear me out. I do not truly ‘hate’ Jews, and in fact have worked very closely with many Jews, have heard informative information first hand from both sides, and have some ‘eastern’ ancestry myself. True, I am sceptical of Zionist ancestral claims, and separately, the big money machine we call the Fed, but I DO NOT blame ALL the Jews. Do I call this hate? Not really.

What is wrong with the holocaust is that the photographic evidence shows mainly male victims of typhus (which leads to starvation), or starvation itself as the cause. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typhus. I first began to question ‘the holocaust’ upon studying history and taking a course on the holocaust. When studying military history, and further, the Armenian genocide, I noted that the methods shown in photographic evidence of those events were more in line with what occurred at Lodz Ghetto, or Babi Yar.

    20. DualDenz says:

powerful letter i must say. i do agree with him, no matter how idiotic it may seem, i feel strongly about everyone having the right to believe whatever they want, as long as they don’t impose their beliefs unto others.

    21. The Bosses Secretary says:

I can’t believe there are people ignorant enough to deny that the Holocaust happened.

File the Holocaust-deniers in with the Hate-The-Jews morons and the Honor-Killing believers. I’m tellin’ ya, holding these attitudes is like wearing a sign around your neck that says, “I’m as dumbfuck as they come!”

      • USS Yorktown says:

Holocaust deniers are crackpots. I put them in the same league with “9/11 Truthers”. Notice how Holocaust Denial and 9/11 Truth Movement come hand in hand and there is a lot of anti-Semitism.

    22. LilMissSunshine says:

see, even his kid hates him…

    23. minjofu says:

I feel so badly for this guy and his family (Eric, not his father).. I feel bad because it seems like he feels somehow responsible for this.. What could he have done to stop it?? Nothing.. I hope no one takes any of this out on him, or his family.. You can’t help where you come from.. and obviously he distanced himself from his father and his twisted beliefs.. what more can a man do?? .. I hope this is all over quickly for them.. and they can begin to heal..

    24. Corset Lass says:

Erik von Brunn is a wonderful person. I commend him for not making excuses for his father’s behavior or trying to justify his father’s actions. James Whitaker von Brunn alone committed and caused this tragic situation and his family should not be held accountable for his actions. It is apparent that the family has never condoned the philosophies, beliefs, or behaviors of James Whitaker von Brunn. I’m sure Erik and his family has had a really tough time in regards to this tragedy because there are a lot people that automatically condemn the family because of James Whitaker von Brunn’s actions. That is wrong to do. They do not deserve to be crucified for James Whitaker von Brunn’s crime or beliefs. My condolences go out to the family of Mr. Johns. Mr. Johns is a hero and he will truly be missed. RIP Mr. Johns.

    26. USS Yorktown says:

I feel sorry for Erik von Brunn because he did not choose his father. Good for him for speaking out.
