I understand Mr. Gagnon’s family does not want to see him in prison; that has to be excrutiating, but how many of you would look Mr. Griffin in the face and tell him “it was just a mistake; he’s a good person”? Sometimes people need to be made an example of, and you must pay for your crime. This was CLEARLY a crime, and he knew drunk driving was illegal. Anyone who has ever been to public school or watched TV knows good and damned well that driving drunk can KILL people, and they would also know that a prison sentence is a possible outcome. Choices, people. It’s all about choices.

What happened with the dead videos was that YouTube changed three copyright advisories, which don’t mean anything, to warnings all at once. I found out later they weren’t supposed to do that, but by then it was too late – they had deleted my account and all the videos in it. Since there were so many of them, the best I can do is wait until I happen upon one of those dead videos and fix it then. Now, if I get two advisories, I open a new account so they can’t do the same thing to me again (three warnings get you banned).

If you, or anyone else, runs across a dead link or dead video, feel free to let me know about it so I can fix it. WordPress lets me know about dead links and I clean them up at least once a month, but I’m sure I miss a few.

Most criticism on PYSIH, though some of it is accurate, is couched as a personal attack against one writer or another. That negates any positive contribution that the comment might have made, and it makes the commenter look like a shithead. No one wins that way, right?

Any normal person can take a look at one of these articles and see the emotional commitment that the writer made. It could be the worst piece of shit article you’ve ever read, bringing to mind a slobbering, toothless meth-head writer with the internet, a machine and nothing better to do – it doesn’t matter. The writer deserves respect for having the guts to contribute to a website like this, and for having the dedication to research such horrible subject matter. I couldn’t do it. I’d go fetal.

1. Read the About link at the top and you’d see the website refers to a Department of Corrections officer’s estimation of those with pure evil in their demeanor and expressions. It’s the cold shiver down your spine you feel when you look into something evil.

2. Gagnon’s a very, very special case for me. I, like you, was a friend of Bethany. Gagnon’s family came out early on and flailed about defending him, parroting for a relief of his sentence and doing anything but answering the core question that could have saved Michael more than two decades in prison. Michael had to admit his crimes. Confess to them, plead guilty as sin, and throw himself on the mercy of the court to have avoided nearly the maximum sentence for his crimes. Likewise, as a Christian, I think you can see the parallel in the example.

3. The world is full of a lot of crappy people, and sometimes the intent of drawing attention to it is not to judge them for hell, but to remind us all of how lucky we have it and as an example for those who need it as a life lesson. Tell me, having known Bethany, have you not found yourself counseling folks who live around or near you about the dangers of a DUI? Even if the degree of preaching has been limited or more subtle?
