Jesse Pacheco And Jessica Arrowood
All couples fight at some point in their relationships. Some talk rationally, some yell, and some even get physical. Jessica Arrowood (Her MySpace – thanks motherof3) and her boyfriend Jesse Pacheco were a couple that fought with their fists. But, being the upstanding people that they are, they didn’t want to hit each other, I mean they’re in love. Instead when things got a little heated, they decided to beat Jessica’s children.
Pacheco would beat Jessica’s “favorite son”, 4-year-old Raymond, to get back at Jessica, and Jessica would in turn beat his favorite child, her 5-year-old daughter Alea. The probable cause affidavit said Arrowood had:
“snatched Alea up by her hair, picked her up by her throat one-handed, threw her like a rag doll and wrapped her arms around Alea’s throat.”
The last time she choked her daughter was the day before Pacheco beat Raymond within inches of his life (more on this soon).
The probable cause affidavit also said:
“Alea stopped screaming and turned blue when Jessica began choking her…(Jessica Arrowood) threw Alea across the room.”
Greenwood, Indiana, Police Department Commander Matt Fillenwarth said:
“Alea was Pacheco’s favorite and Arrowood would beat her to get back at him. She would pick the little girl up by her hair, choke her and then throw her around the room.”
The following day, Jesse Pacheco must have been really pissed that Jessica had hurt little Alea, because he retaliated by slamming little Raymond’s head onto the floor so hard, the boy went limp and fell into a coma. Now, being the great mother is, Jessica took Raymond to the hospital, where doctors found numerous injuries on the boy, including a blood clot on his brain, bruising to the left ear, a forehead abrasion and a bite mark on his stomach. She was questioned about abuse, because typically 4 year olds don’t have severe head trauma for no reason. At first, Jessica denied there was any abuse going on, then confessed that both she a Pacheco beat the children.
She also admitted that the beatings had been going on for nearly two years. Two years!
Now to make this case that much more interesting, Raymond was going to day care, Kid Co. Childcare Inc. The day care providers had noticed some bruising on Raymond that didn’t seem quite right, so they turned the mother and boyfriend in for child abuse. Oh, wait, that’s right, if they had done that, maybe Raymond wouldn’t be in a coma right now. They told Jessica that they wouldn’t “report her this time.” This daycare is now under investigation….hmm…can’t figure out why.
When questioned by reporters, an administrator at Kid Co. Childcare Inc. initially denied neglecting the signs of abuse but then, a few minutes later, she changed her tune.
“The police was in on this, CPS was in on this, everything was done. I’m not arguing with you.”
Jesse Pacheco III, 27, was charged on August 10th, 2009, with battery resulting in serious bodily injury to a person younger than 14 on allegations that he beat Raymond Arrowood. On August 14th, Jessica Arrowood, 27, was charged with battery resulting in bodily injury, neglect of a dependent and two counts of strangulation for the alleged abuse of Alea Arrowood.
Jesse Pacheco remained in the Johnson County Jail on Thursday on $60,000 bond. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted on all charges. Jessica Arrowood, who faces up to 12 years in prison if convicted, remained in the Johnson County Jail on $15,000 bond.

In what altered universe could a parent even HAVE a favorite child, must less violently exploit that child to spite their spouse or significant other? Furthermore I can’t imagine wanting to hurt my significant other in the first place, not even in a petty way like breaking his things.

I always find it odd that in instances when both the mother and father are found guilty of child abuse of pretty much equal severity (sounds to me like Raymond’s injury was incidental rather than intended), the father (or in this case boyfriend) almost invariably gets a harsher sentence. Isn’t the mother here at least as guilty? It’s bad enough that her boyfriend beat her kids to get back at her, but isn’t it somehow worse that she beat her OWN KIDS to get back at him? Other than the kid being in a coma, which could have just as easily happened while Jessica was beating her daughter, how is what he did worse than what she did? I don’t get it.

Hmmm…. How do I explain this…. So, the most severe beating was against the boy, because the boy dropped into a coma, a life threatened state. The mother was complicit in other beatings, but she also reported the crimes against her son, and “did the right thing” by taking her son to the hospital.
In this one case, the “boyfriend” is more criminally responsible in a more severe crime than the “mother” because his actions resulted in more severe damage.
Luckily, both are prosecuted, both have been punished, and hopefully both will never see their children again.

Wow, I feel for your pain, but I think you might need to address this issue differently.
1. Treat the DHS worker as a positive, not as an insult to your parenting, as hard as that may be. Few parents have their parenting skills put beneath a microscope, and given my own upbringing, there are some moments I’m sure my parents are glad DHS didn’t see. Nothing directly abusive on my parent’s part, but definitely dysfunctional, as all homes have.
2. Your son belonged in a psych ward for using a knife on you. You probably still love your son, but DHS should be involved in any situation where a minor uses violence to solve problems. It suggests a lot of different things, but I think the number one cause is usually a dangerous home life. You probably fall outside of that statistic, and if you can manage it, you may help benefit others who fall into your little side of the Venn diagram.
3. Encourage DHS to move on the next problem, as quickly and politely as you can. Stress cooperation and understanding, and above all exercise extreme patience, but make sure they document that patience and your exercise of good will at the same time you get them to document your request for abatement.
DHS is far from perfect, but nothing would be worse.

but I wanted to correct ya on something…the child I committed was a girl….just wanted to let you know.
She has been diagnosed ADHD and ODD…and recently ADD..
She has lived in a very stable homelife as far as her father and I are concerned, but his family…ehhhh…don’t want to elaborate, but let’s just say…they feel that violence solves everything, so she was pre-disposed to it.
My husband was lucky enough to marry me and turn around before our oldest was born.
I try not to look at DHS so negatively, but I feel that my husband and I are being treated unfaily, especially when we were founded on something that we didn’t deny our child in the first place: critical care. Every time my children show symptoms of mental health or physical health issues, I’m calling the doctor, because my children are my world.
It’s just…DHS can be soooo damn annoying with all their suggestions, because a lot of them that have been given to me have been pretty irrational..like telling my neighbor to drain their pool, because it serves as a drowning risk to my children..it’s a five inch deep baby pool for crying out loud, in THEIR backyard, and my children do not play in their backyard..would be kinda hard with a fence there.
I have eye locks on every door, cupboard, and whatchamaycallit, because I’m very paranoid about my toddler (he’s 22 mos. old) getting into things, that’s not good enough for them..
I literally yelled at one worker one day (sans children) “What do you want me to do, cover the whole fucking place in rubber foam? Will that satisfy you people?”
Everything a decent, hardworking parent does for these cretens will never suffice.
Even the attempt will be scrutinized.
I do understand that there are decent workers out there, but the ones I’m dealing with are abusing their authority, and giving my children the power to dictate to me with their “modern age discapline tactics”…have any of you ever tried to put a 3 year old with ADHD in the corner? It gets frustrating after a while.
How about an 8 year old who has Oppisational Defiance Disorder, and they start throwing things around the house, especially when you have two other children’s saftey to be concerned about?
I mean..these people have no grasp on understanding what it’s like to have three children, and you have to focus the majority of your attention on the one that’s misbehaving most of the time, neglecting the other two (well, that’s what they are telling me to do, but I refuse to comply, because my other two children are toddlers, and they need my assistance more than an 8 year old on a tantrum-fest.)…
One worker witnessed my daughter’s tantrum and reccommended that we lock her in her room until she stopped..but another one turned around and said not to, because it posed a saftey hazard..
I don’t agree with either of them, I use my own method, which is:
I ignore you until you behave like a civilized human being. If you don’t want to comply with my rules, you can go to your room. If you still don’t want to behave, you lose your T.V. for a week (that usually gets her to listen and stop throwing a fit), and if I still do not have a postive response, the toys go next.
Priviledges are a right in our house, and the children have to earn them.
We do not spank (not anymore, we would give a swat on the rear to get our point across, but that taught our youngest to smack, so..it really defeated the purpose or punishing them with spanking.), time outs are useless, the only yelling involved comes from the kids, and the frustrated parents walk outside onto the front porch when needing a break.
That’s what I meant about my earlier post…

Many people (particularly the worst sorts of people) are experts at fooling themselves. They are perfectly able to ignore their own glaring character flaws — a willingness to pick a child up by its throat and hurl it across the room, for example — in the interest of (false) self-esteem.
Someone should hack Jessica Arrowood’s MySpace account and replace those two .GIFs with new, more accurate ones that read, “Grotesque face, PIG CUNT BELOW MY WAIST” and “PROUD BABY-HURLING SOCIOPATH.”
Her password is probaby “numberonemom” so this should be easy.

well i happen to know jessica arrowood. i also know for a fact that the accusations are completely untrue. yes she may be guilty of neglect, and only because she left her babies with someone who has had a violent past, jesse never put his hands on those children before this but he has put his hands on jessica. jessica arrowood is a good mother and none of this is true. she never touched her children other than with loving care, and as for that daycare, clearly they are liars, they have told a couple of stories. i know some of the families that take their children there and they can also vouch that those children have never shown any sort of signs of abuse, not ever. she deserves to get her children back, and the only mistake she has ever made on their behalf was to be in a relationship with jesse picheko. those children love their mother very much and in the end of all of this the truth will come out and all of you who judge her and say all these wretched things about her will feel nothing but remorse and guilt. so in the end of all this i sure hope that u sick and disgusting people will be able to live with yourselves. jessica arrowood did not deserve any off this and neither did her family or those children. she may not be mother of the year but her children have always been taken care of and they have always been very well off. they deserve to have their mother back.

The PC Affidavit states the last time Arrowood strangled her daughter was the day before Pacheco beat the four-year-old within inches of his life. It also says she liked to beat up Raymond, the 4-year-old boy.
Jees, ol’ Jessica even faces more charges than Pacheco, what with the added strangulation beef. God forbid she should ever get her children back.
So it seems your claims of innocence are total nonsense, as is usually the case with folks like you.
