    UPDATE: Jarrod William Pardun

Jarrod PardunOn September 3rd we received a comment from the daughter of Steven M. Thurston, the victim of Jarrod William Pardun, in the Pardun thread. Unfortunately, I didn’t see Michelle Thurston’s comment until today. That’s a shame, because it contains some very important information about this case, information that needs to get as much exposure as possible. Things like proof of premeditation, and the possibility that other parties knew of Pardun’s intention to kill Thurston and did nothing to stop it.

I’ve decided to reproduce her comment in full on our front page, so as many people as possible can see it and comment on it. This is important stuff, and shouldn’t be relegated to the bottom of a stack of comments.

I thank you for this site, for it is interesting for me to see what other people think and how they feel about this situation. There are two things that need to be cleared up however. One – His wife, my stepmother, was also hit by the shot gun blast.

And what is most important to me; my fathers name is spelled Steven M. Thurston. It is what is on his birth certificate, my birth certificate and now his death certificate. For some reason the local media insist on misspelling his name. I am not sure why this bothers me but it does. I would just like people to know.

I would also like to know what people think about that fact that Pardun told his sister and girlfriend he was going to shoot my father, watched him walkout the door peel away in his car with a loaded weapon. Does anyone think that they should have informed police that he was planning on shooting my father?

Oh and by the way the police searched my fathers residence and found NO weapons that could be used against Pardun. He was just spending time putting together something for my little sister in the front lawn with her right there, and had it not been for his and my stepmothers quick response my little sister might have died or been gravely injured by the shot gun blast.

    Thank you for this forum

No, thank you Michelle, and believe us when we say that our hearts go out to you, your little sister, and your stepmother. For what it’s worth, you can be sure that at least the member of this forum want to see Jarrod Pardun receive all the justice he so richly deserves.

My thoughts go out to you, Michelle – for what it’s worth – and if you ever read this.

Admin, will you correct the spelling of the victim’s name on the initial article? Seems it would please, if only a little, Michelle.

    2. diana says:

Wow- Michelle, hang in there. We will be sending lots of good thoughts your way.

    3. Baddie76 says:

There are no words to make Michelle feel better, but I will say a prayer for her and her family.

I also agree with her that the perpetrator’s family should have spoke up. This was preventable and it is truly a tragedy!

    4. Jason says:

Does anyone think that they should have informed police that he was planning on shooting my father?

I think they should have physically detained him and/or called the police. I’m sorry I ever gave MrGary the benefit of the doubt. Jarrod deserves nothing more and nothing less than a needle to end his life.

    5. Z.Ward says:

I am so very sorry for your loss. Your father seems like a wonderful husband, dad, and friend who will be missed by many. Pardun wont get what he deserves but he will be in hell.

    6. Chinchillazilla says:

I’m so, so sorry, Michelle. I hope you and your family can find peace.

    7. Michelle Thurston says:

THANK YOU!!!! To many the spelling of my fathers name might seems some what petty, but my father was proud of his name and his family.
It has been hard on my family, but your thoughts and well wishes are being felt.
It has been so hard on my little sister, she is only three, and our father was her world. I was lucky I had him for 33 years. She was just to be a foster child. but my father fell in love and from day one, she (my sister) had dad rapped around her little fingers. It saddens me to know that she will never know the man my father was or the man he was becoming for herself…but be assured the family will make sure she always knows.
She will know how much he loved her and how even at a time when dad and my step mom should be thinking of retirement, they decided that she would have the Thurston name for life.

I really don’t know what will happen to Jason, I hope that he has to wake up every day in a cell with no hope of fresh air. I hope he falls asleep every nite with my fathers face in his head and the sound of my sisters cry…and the scream of my step mom in his ears. As for hell, I hope he is there already- I will never see him there for I know that when the time comes I will be in heaven next to my dad, and I will fill him in on what he missed out on…kids getting married, grand children, graduations, firsts and lasts of every day life.
My heart hurts every day…I lived in a shell of not knowing what a crime like this could do…and I am sorry I do now. and it sucks. It seems like news like this is becoming such a part of our everyday life. I often find myself thinking of the past, and the future…I always had dad, but now I have ashes, pictures and memories…and the knowledge that he was taken with such violence, and it over shadows my fathers greatness. I hope no person should have to go through this type of hell, but the fact is many of you have and many, many more will.
At least we have memories, family and each other and for that I am thankful.
Thank You for letting me ramble :o)…I just miss my daddy!

      • Mulch says:

Mam I am a firm believer that the little things are far more important than the big things. I always told my ex wife this and I am telling my girlfriend the same. Little things like me bringing a flower to my girlfriend just because. Or telling her thank you for being here with me to share a sunset.

the spelling of your father’s name is a little thing but it is very important. I understand how you feel.

Thanks Max for the corretion and making a new post for Michelle’s response.

        YOU DA SHIAT!

    8. Michelle Thurston says:

oops I mean Jarod, not Jason…I got the name of my fathers killer wrong…ironic!!!!!

    9. Michelle Thurston says:

Dang it, did it again..not intentional honest…Jarrod William Pardun…oops!!!!

    10. Fred says:

      Michelle -
I lost my father to cancer some 7 years ago. I only know some of the loss you feel as my family had time to say goodbyes and all of us were older at the time.
While I do not know your father, it is evident that you loved him and he sounds like quite a loving person. He did the right thing, yelling at Jarrod. If no one speaks up, then such would continue. It was only a matetr of time before Jarred did kill or injure someone, but few could have imagined that he’d have done such. Most people when they act like Jarrod are being idiots (myself included) and usually laugh at the people that tell them to slow down (i used to speed through a parking garage at 45 mph 9 times the speed limit). Jarred was not the average idiot, he was, and still is evil.
What your father did will never be fully known. By speaking up and getting gunned down such that this POS was arrested, your father’s sacrifice may have prevented an entire family from being maimed and killed, or if this bastard is as evil as I think he is, may have prevented multiple date rapes or other crimes that this POS was going to do later in life.

it sounds like your baby sister lost the most, and the hero that your father is will never be fully known. I just hope that your father’s memory is honored when Jarred is sentenced here on Earth, because I know that on Judgement Day your father will be remembered as well.

    11. Justin says:

I live on a narrow one way street and have a 3-year old daughter. We have several creeps in the neighborhood who love to speed down the street at 50MPH (the posted limit is 25, which I think is too fast), as well as zipping into their driveways without slowing down or making sure there isn’t a child (or even a dog or cat) in the way first. I feel the frustration that the people of your neighborhood felt, and I frankly wouldn’t be completely surprised if there was a future incident of road rage.

As far as Jarrod’s family not bothering to notify anyone about his intentions, he was apparently suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after serving in the military (that’s too bad, though it is no excuse for his behavior). That means his family knew he was dangerous and a threat to his neighborhood and did nothing about it, well before this cowardly act of senseless violence. I’d say his family are unquestionably accountable for their apathy and denial.

Ultimately, while it’s a shame he was mentally scarred from his military experience (his unit apparently had a bad reputation for using excessive force), this self-absorbed, spoiled, arrogant, inconsiderate douche is 100% responsible for the death of a man who sounds like an all-around terrific guy. My condolences to you. I doubt Jarrod’s or his family’s excuses will get them very far with a jury.

      • Fred says:

While PTSD is a good reason to be a general prick, there is a line between being a prick and an evil fuck which this POS crossed on his own free will.

    12. Kathy says:

My condolences to you and your family, Michelle.
I hope Pardun rots in jail for the rest of his life.
I hope Bubba visits him in his cell at night and whacks him over the head repeatedly with a two by four.

Are you one of those horrible method acting students looking to channel a hardened street thug? Because If that’s the case, no offense but you need much practice before trying this out for a live audience.

Oooo! I guessed the show! You’re prepping for a role as one of the “Jets” from “Westside Story”! It’s a retelling of “Romeo and Juliet” by Shakespeare, you know. You don’t strike me as the type to know this. Just thought it might help with your character. No need to thank me!

      • Jason says:

And, if a cop catches you driving too fast, over and over again, you’ll lose your insurance, and then your license to drive. You made a contract with the State you live in or the Federal government if you have an armed forces driver’s license, to obey the rules of the road. So did Jarrod. Enforcement of those laws can and often are enforced by citizens. Jarrod’s victim committed no crime. Jarrod should be executed for his crime.

      • Max The Cat says:

Then I guess I have the right to pick you off with a sniper rifle as you zip by MY house. Just think of it. There’d be a slight pop as the high powered round penetrated the left side of your skull, and a much louder pop as the contents of your cranium along with the majority of right side of your head exploded against the passenger side window of your car. That’s what coroners call a massive head wound.

        I’d like that. LOL.

        • justjaneybox says:

I actually have an email with that kind of “picture”….and it’s gross, just what the ‘snake’ I mean doctor ordered :)

          • Max The Cat says:

Oh yeah janey, it’s messy. Not as messy as a shotgun blast at close range (that will give you more of a puree), but once you get to large head wounds what’s the difference?

            • justjaney says:

talking of puree…I just got another email that was even more gross…( I wonder why my friends think I need to see these…lol) brings home the point of not txting while you drive though…icky…

Damn if you’re not one of the lamest trolls we’ve ever had around here. “PS who the fuck needs a licence and insurance to drive anyway?!!!!!!” – Oh that’s not some amateurish attempt to get a reaction. And to prove how much you suck at trolling, I trolled you with my sniper remark – I got you to respond to me. Now run along and play with your video games or whatever it is 12-year-old boys play with.

yes I heard that too, thats why I picked a place that so far (fingers crossed) only see’s maybe one or two in city, the rest are in the bush so to speak…..just the way I like it :) If I actually came across one at my feet trust me you would hear me from all the way over there :) or I’d be that one news article about some idiot dying in the backyard from not moving out of fear…lol

        • Max The Cat says:

Have you ever considered that it’s chicken that tastes like snake?

          Yeah.

          Think outside the box.

thanks max, there goes my kfc dinner……i was so looking forward to it…damn….back to baked beans on toast…lol

Ugh-Max, can you get rid of that asshat, “snake”? His daughter shouldn’t have to read that shit. I don’t think I have read a more pathetic or ignorant rant of comments on this site before…

          • VCBecky says:

Yes indeedy, I have considered that.

Have YOU considered, according to various opinions, human tastes like chicken?

MEBBE PEOPLE TASTE LIKE SNAKES? HMMMM?

Sorry about the shouting. I haven’t finished my coffee yet.

    15. onewhoknows says:

Just a few things I want to say. I was hesitant to post anything when I found this website, but I figure I can possibly provide a bit of insight, from what I know and recall of Jarrod. First, I remain anonymous only to protect my and my family’s safety and privacy. I do know Jarrod’s ex girlfriend, and we do share very similar experiences when it comes to dealing with him on a personal level. Both she and I have moved on, and although this comes as a shock to us both, it is not completely unexpected. Jarrod had issues with anger and violence long before his supposed issues with PTSD, but at the time I knew him, they mainly only manifested themselves with the women he was with at the time. I could go into detail about those experiences, but it isn’t necessary. As far as the whole PTSD issue itself, in my personal opinion, I feel it is complete bullshit, but I will leave that up to the experts. Jarrod never had to fight at all, and in fact broke his shoulder a few weeks before he was due to leave for Iraq. His life was spared. That poor man’s wasnt. My heart does go out to his family. As far as his guilt over seeing fellow soldiers die on video….. In my time knowing him, he has never shown one bit of remorse for any of the terrible things he had done before. I have a hard time believing that would change. As far as his daughters are concerned, they will hopefully grow up free of the stigma of having a murderer for a father. That is my only wish. Justice will hopefully be done.

      • Max The Cat says:

Thank you so much for your peek into the mind of a killer. It’s not often that anyone is willing to share these kinds of things with us. Most of us didn’t buy into any of the excuses Jarrod’s supporters were trying to make for his behavior, and you comments just reinforce that gut feeling.

It must have taken a lot of soul searching before you came to the decision to post your comments here, and don’t think for one moment that we don’t appreciate it. I hope that the police and prosecutors are aware of these things too, because if we’re hearing all Jarrod’s friends trying to use this garbage to defend him on something as trivial as this website, you can bet his attorneys are going to try the same thing at trial.

    16. the snake says:

hey nicole if you don’t like it don’t read it….. oh shit i think i hear one of my tricks knocking on the door better get it, the quicker I can get it done the quicker I can hit my glass dick

oh look, it’s the aryan nation again. you don’t mind that i corrected a few mistakes in you comment, do you snake? the way it was was so rude to our friend nicole.

Dude please come dome a little from your throne. You are not funny, whitty or even close. You are disgusting. You have no humor and are only looking to insult. Which you do very badly. You wold think when a person picks a screen name like yours there would be atleast some form of whit behind the person.

Now I have to ask you if your parents had any children that were not retarded?

        or lived?

lol Why thank you Max! I guess I missed something that this little fellah said to me? I am so disappointed as I am sure it was mind-numbingly hilarious and full of wit as all of his comments have been.

        • Max The Cat says:

No problem Nicole – I have everyone’s back here at PYSIH. I couldn’t figure out why snake-boy chose to only pick on you though. Perhaps the little scamp has a crush on you? It’s happened before, to VCBecky.

You can never tell what these fruitcakes are gonna do next, you know what I mean?

          • Nicole says:

lol No kidding. Poor VCBecky–I don’t know what this troll’s problem is. He’s probably just a kid, so I don’t take it to heart.

    17. Nick In Cali says:

I knew Jarrod Much differant than ONEWHOKNOWS. I spent two weeks living in his house before I went to Iraq myself. His wife at the time was there , and this Phycotic Killer was not at all the person I knew. All though I will say he had a temper, it was only with his wife. Many people have a Temper, especially in the Army, So that wasn’t real significant. Most of them don’t Kill people. I can say that he was actually a great friend of mine. One of the best and most loyal I’ve ever had. It made me wonder how in the world he turned into this. As far as the PTSS, I don’t believe that crap at all. As ONEWHOKNOWS stated, He never went to war. I was the one riding dirt bikes with him, when our friend landed on him off a jump. Came down right on his left shoulder. They both crashed, and I took him to the hospital. He never even begain to go to Iraq, and I seriously doubt the story of him seeing his friends die. I think it’s a lie. I spent two weeks at his house before I went. He took me to put my truck in storage, he took me to base the morning I left. He was one of the first people I saw when I got back six months later. I’m tellin ya we were best friends, and he never, ever mentioned that story to me. I think his family is making a bunch of freaking excuses, not for him, but to comfort themselves. I think he is Bi-polar, or has some other disorder that never got discovered until something triggered it. I think something happened after he got out, and when i was already gone back to cali. I think his family knew of a serious problem, and were too weak to get him real help.
One of my best friends deserves the DEATH PENALTY right now, and his family deserves jail time minimum. That really sucks all the way around, for Mr. Thurstans family, my heart goes out to you. I’m sorry I couldn’t see this type of thing coming. I then could have saved your father, But I didn’t. I feel guilty for you, Your dad, for Jarrod, and yet he was not this person when I knew him. All I can say is , as hard as it is, I hope to God he never walks the streets again. I hope he turns to the Lord right now, and maybe in turn makes others in jail come to Christ. But that’s where it stands. In Gods hands, because if it were just up to all of us, we would all put a bu;llet in his head for what he’s done. I do know this though. NBot only can God Heal the family that was destroyed by the Murderer, He can also save the murderer while he’s dying on a cross. Those of you who know the BIBLE know what I’m talking about. There is a blessed hope for a struggling family, That they will see their father again if he knew the Lord.

      • Max The Cat says:

Thanks for your comment Nick, As I said to “One Who Knows”, it must have taken a lot of souls searching to come to the decision to post it here. It was probably even more painful for you to realize that your good friend is a cold blooded murderer. I can tell you this; that from our experience with friends and family members of people like Jarrod, an honest and principled guy like yourself is the exception to the rule in cases like this. Most of the time I would be defending the conclusion in my story instead or complimenting the poster for his courage and honesty. Good luck to you and your family.

    18. Nick In Cali says:

Oh B.T.W I too, will not let anyone know where I am. I know if many people read this, they do know exactly who I am, but I would never give my local because my first responsibility is to my wife, whom I would never put in danger over anything in this world. If you do know me find me on facebook.

      • onewhoknows says:

nick, i think you know who i am as well, since you did stay with us for two weeks. i did marry someone i thought i could trust that would take care of me, and that ended up not being the case. i do feel for you, because there were a lot of things that he hid from other people, and i helped him hide those things because i was ashamed of what was going on at the time. i wanted to let you know, im glad youre alive and doing well. i have thought of a lot of his friends that have scattered since then, and whatever became of all of you. for me, i have spent the last few years rebuilding my life and raising our daughter on my own. i would look for you on facebook, but i cant remember your last name, and i dont go by my married one anymore. anyway, its good to know youre doing well, and god bless. :)

        • Max The Cat says:

I have both your email addresses on file, and can put you two together if that’s what you want. Would you like me to forward a message or your address to Nick. Just send anything you want sent to him to pysiheditor@comcast.net and I’ll be happy to take care of it. You can be sure that I’ll keep this all in the strictest confidence – sometimes the only reason people share information with me is because they know I always keep my word. I wouldn’t risk my reputation for any reason.
