    UPDATE: Stanley Tippett

    TIPPETT TRIAL DELAYED UNTIL DECEMBER
By Joel Wiebe, The Kawartha Media Group

Stanley TippettDespite the efforts of the Crown attorney, defense lawyer, the judge, and even Stanley Tippett, the trial couldn’t be contained in the allotted two weeks with the next available date being Dec. 14 where it will run for four days.

Mr. Tippett is accused of abducting a 12-year-old girl in Peterborough and sexually assaulting her behind a secondary school in Courtice.

This news wasn’t what the victim’s mother and grandmother wanted to her. The girl’s mother, who can’t be named to protect the identity of the victim, said prolonging the trial is stressful.

“I wish it was done and over with,” she says.

    Quick Trips To Hell

While Max the Cat is working slavishly in the hole I’ve dug for him in the basement, from time to time I like to jump in here and throw out some interesting stories that catch my eye.

    Rape Roulette

A few New Guinea women living in a refuge in Western Highlands Provence are experiencing a disturbing series of attacks.

While living in a donated house in a small town, the 13 women have reported numerous attacks by local men, who apparently love to get their drunk on.

According to the women, they’re constantly being attacked by the local men, who are forcing their way into the house to rape – despite the fact that all 13 women in the house are HIV or AIDS positive.

    Diane Schuler

Diane ShulerI had a very hard time starting this story. When I first read about what Diane Schuler had done, I knew I had to write about her. Soon, it became more than just a story to me. It became almost an obsession, as I was driven to find out all I could about this 36-year-old woman, her family, and that fateful morning in late July.

By all accounts, Diane Schuler was a superb mom, doting on her daughter Erin, 2, and son Bryan, 5, and her husband Daniel was head over heels in love with her. It seemed that she had everything she could ever dream of, and the Schulers appeared to everyone to be a strong, happy family.
