I cannot imagine losing them insuch a tragic manner like this one, especially when there were other sober people at the party that could have stopped Carmen from driving drunk. I will tell you this - there is no punishment good enough that any human being can conjure up that could avenge the death of my child. Carmen Huertas has to stand before God one day and account for herself. I find comfort in knowing that He has a punishment that is suitable for what she has done and far better than one we can give her on this earth. I have 2 kids; 3 and 6 years old. The only reason I mention this is that it is completely relevant to the story. One of our friends had a tad too much to drink. (Actually he had a shit load to drink, but he's had a rough year.) He didn't want to give up his keys either. Granted ,he wasn't going to truck a cart load of kids anywhere that night, we were worried about other people on the road. He got physically violent when we tried to take his keys. Did we give up and just let him go home and wish him the best? Nope, sorry. Human life is worth too much. We knocked his ass the fuck out, took his keys, and drove him home. We carried him to his bed, put a pitcher of water next to his bed, brought in a bucket and went home.
