Thanks for the update. No, it is not enough, although for me nothing short of slow painful death would be enough.

"Three years of post release supervision . . . cannot own any pets or live in any residence where animals are present for a period of three years after her release . . . " Well la-dee- f'n -da. No doubt the judge and prosecutor are congratulating themselves on a job well done. Probably it's never crossed their tiny minds that a being like Cherry will completely disregard any and all rules.

Besides, the court system being what it is, the sentence will probably get commuted for good behavior or some nonsense. It could be out shaking its fat ass in the street in no time.

Street justice may save the day yet. Whatever happens, may it start quick and end slow.

RIP Little Tiger Lily.

Was just getting around to checking.

http://www.empirestatenews.net/News/20091203-7.html

NEW YORK - Cheyenne Cherry, 17, pled guilty to charges in connection with an incident that occurred last Spring during which the crime victim’s kitten was killed.

Cherry pled guilty to one count of Attempted Burglary in the 2nd degree, a Class D violent felony offense, as well as Animal Cruelty as a misdemeanor.

Under terms of the plea agreement, entered in State Supreme Court, Cherry will be sentenced to a term of two years in jail on the felony and a concurrent term of one year on the misdemeanor, followed by three years of post release supervision. She has waived her right to appeal this conviction and also cannot own any pets or live in any residence where animals are present for a period of three years after her release from custody. A previous guilty plea by Cherry had been vacated on November 2.

On May 6, 2009, Cherry and an alleged accomplice, a juvenile, entered an apartment in a New York City Housing Authority building on Tinton Avenue and damaged some of the contents by pouring bleach on a couch before cutting it with a knife and cutting the wires on a television set. Cherry’s alleged accomplice is believed to be the person who actually put the crime victim’s kitten, “Tiger Lily,” in the oven and turned it on before fleeing, leaving the kitten to burn to death.

The 15-year-old juvenile is being prosecuted in Family Court.

Sentencing is scheduled for January 21.

Another case against Cherry, involving the violation of probation on an unrelated matter, is still pending and also next scheduled to be heard on January 7.

I'm going to blow up a copy of that grinning excuse for a face and paste it in the bottom of my cats' litter box as a target for kitty bowel movements and that great smelling cat urine. Bombs awaaaayyy!!

But first we need the right kind of litter. IF someone lit this thing on fire she would go up like a torch. She must be all chapped by now from every bulldagger in Rikers rolling around on her. I'd pay good money to get some of the ashes and mix them in with our Jonny Cat.

Any news from court?

She burned a living creature alive. She let the animal suffer one of the most painful deaths imaginable, with zero empathy for its suffering. If she's willing to do this to a kitten, you can bet your ass that she'll be fine with hurting other people. Perhaps she won't go as far as killing someone, but theft, violence and abuse are a likely outcome for this girl. If she goes to prison now, maybe she'll think twice before she indulges her drive for revenge in the future.

Plus, she burned a fucking cat alive. Animals are just as capable of feeling pain as human beings, even if they can't comprehend what's going on in the same way we can. Why the hell do idiots like you pull this "oh, you must be in PETA" crap whenever someone shows empathy for an animal? There's a pretty big difference between wanting to make sure that animals are being treated humanely and subscribing to PETA's extremist ideology of putting animals ahead of people. No one is suggesting that we firebomb a research lab, beat up old women in fur coats or run off and free every barnyard animal; we're upset because she did what she did solely for the purpose of causing pain to her ex-boyfriend and his pet -- and that, my dear, is intolerable. Normal people don't burn their ex's pet to death.

Frankly, the fact that you aren't outraged by a crime that involves this level of heartless cruelty says more about you than it does about any of us. Having empathy isn't a bad thing, nor should anyone ever be made to feel as if they're wrong just for caring about another creature's well-being.

I don't even want to comment on the thoughts that I have about this being. It won't shock me when this psycho winds up killing someone in the future. Absolutely no good will come from allowing this individual back into society. She will continue to commit crimes and be a menace to society. She will also be one of the individuals that plays the revolving door game with the penal system.
