UPDATE 2: Gang Rape In Dunbar Village In West Palm Beach, Florida

FINAL DUNBAR VILLAGE RAPE DEFENDANT SENTENCED TO 30 YEARS
excerpts of an article by Susan Spencer-Wendel – The Palm Beach Post

Avion Lawson 2Avion Lawson faced a minimum of 49 years under state sentencing guidelines for his guilty pleas in the savage gang rape upon a Dunbar Village woman and her son.

Prosecutors at his sentencing this morning, asked for a term of 50 years as the victim wished.

A defense attorney, emphasizing Lawson’s age — 14 — and immaturity at the time of the crime, asked for a stunning term of 10 years.

A judge, in the end, landed right in between.

Circuit Judge Krista Marx sentenced Lawson to 30 years in prison followed by 10 years probation. Lawson’s three co-defendants who, unlike him, were convicted after a trial, all received life terms from Marx.

Jakaris Taylor“I know this: through your testimony you sealed this case against the co-defendants,” Marx told Lawson this morning.

Through his testimony, as well, Lawson revealed the names of two others he claimed were at the scene that night — Augustus “Gus” Fontaine and Melvyn Young — who have not been arrested for the crime.

Marx said the a co-defendant’s statement alone is not sufficient to make the case against them, and no other evidence exists.

It was a deal with the devil: Lawson flipping; testifying against the others. Flatly, emotionless at trial recounting the woman and her son’s terror; the 12-year-old boy being beaten, the mother being violated over-and-over, the two of them being forced into simulating a sex act together.

“Do I believe … that you were the leader?” Marx said to Lawson. “Not for a second. There is huge difference between a 14- and 18-year-old.”

Tommy PoindexterTommy Poindexter was 18 at the time of the crime.

In the ensuing blame game, as West Palm Beach Police began a massive investigation and suspects started talking, Lawson depicted Poindexter as the ringleader — the one with the big gun ordering people around.

Poindexter largely blamed it on Jakaris Taylor.

Lawson, now 17, spoke at this morning’s sentencing, not placing blame, simply, in a quaking voice, talking of being sorry that the victim and her son will suffer physical and emotional trauma for the rest of their lives.

“It’s coming from my heart. And that’s all I got to say,” Lawson said.

THREE DUNBAR VILLAGE RAPE DEFENDANTS SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON
excerpts of an article on the WPBF Channel 25 Website

Three defendants convicted in the gang-rape of a woman and her child at Dunbar Village in 2007 have been sentenced to life in prison.

Moments after Judge Krista Marx sentenced Tommy Lee Poindexter, 20, Nathan Walker, who turned 19 Monday, and Jakaris Taylor, 17, on Tuesday, Poindexter turned to the crowd and muttered an obscenity.

Taylor’s younger brother then hurled himself into the witness area, crying and beating on the door to the prisoner area and forcing deputies to restrain him. Deputies said Nathan Walkerthey were going to arrest Mario Frierson, but his mother made him apologize to the bailiff he injured and to the judge. Frierson later told WPBF that he would miss his older brother.

Taylor’s mother said she was still trying to come to terms with the fact that her 17-year-old son would spend the rest of his life behind bars.

The melee ensued shortly after two of the defendants made pleas for lesser sentences in the gang-rape of the 35-year-old mother and her 12-year-old son.

    First, Taylor apologized.

“Deep inside, I do feel very sorry for it, and I say my apologies and my prayers out to her and her son and her family and all,” Taylor said.

    Then, Poindexter expressed remorse.

Mario Frierson, half-brother to Jakaris Taylor“Deep down inside, I feel terrible for what happened,” Poindexter said.

The defendants raped and sodomized the mother, forced her and her son to have sex with each other and then doused the two victims with cleaning solutions in an attempt to destroy DNA evidence.

Their attorneys brought experts who testified the three were neglected, abused and so young when committing their crime that their brains weren’t fully developed.

But in the end, Marx cited the sheer depravity of the crime and the enjoyment the defendants took in it as cause for her sentence.

“I can only surmise that none of you gentlemen ever developed a moral code, that you simply do not have something within you that tells you this is wrong to do … and there is no other appropriate sentence in this case but life in prison,” Marx said.

Walker’s attorney, Robert Gershman, told WPBF 25 News that he didn’t think life in prison was an appropriate sentence for his client.

“He shouldn’t be put away forever,” Gershman said. “Life means life and you will never, ever get out. That’s not appropriate.”

Mothers from Dunbar village said they hoped the community’s youth would learn from the events and trial.

“I just hope everybody, all the other kids out here, learn something from that experience,” said Dunbar resident Deborah Polen.

In Florida, a life sentence offers no hope of parole or a lesser sentence. Lawyers for the defendants said they would appeal the decision.

Well thank God this case is finally over, and it hard to ask for a better outcome; Life in Prison for the three worst offenders and 30 years for young Avion Lawson, who suddenly had an attack of conscience and decided not only to plead guilty and come clean about what he did but also to turn State’s evidence against his three accomplices, virtually assuring their convictions.

Last night I was thinking about what it must have been like to have been the two victims as they were assaulted and abused by these four young kids. How helpless they both must have felt, The humiliation of being forced to perform sex acts on each other as a bunch of goons hooted, howled and laughed.

I know there are people out there thinking, “I never would have let them do that to me – they would have had to kill me first.” Perhaps. Honestly, at first, I thought the same thing myself. Then I realized, it’s fine to sacrifice my own life to keep my self respect, but was I willing to sacrifice the life of my kid too? How far am I willing to go to save the life of my son? I suspect those same things were running through mom’s mind as these pigs had their way with her.

I was struck by the reaction of the families of Jakaris Taylor, Tommy Poindexter and Nathan Walker immediately after they were sentenced to Life in Prison. As soon as the words were spoken, the courtroom erupted in chaos. What did these people think was going to happen to Jakaris, Tommy and Nathan? Did they think because Taylor and Poindexter said that “deep down” they were “really, really” sorry Judge Marx would suddenly decide they had learned their lesson and give those, poor, misguided boys (insert sarcasm here) probation?

The one person I truly felt sorry for was Mario Frierson, Jakaris Taylor’s 13-year-old half-brother. When he broke down as they were taking his brother away forever, I could feel his anguish, and I wished there was something I could have done to ease his pain. Here was one more victim of that night of madness.

One last thing. The second video, “Avion Lawson Testifies About Dunbar Village Rape”, starts off with a warning about it being very graphic. It is. If you’re sensitive to that sort of thing, I suggest you skip viewing it. I included it to show why these punks deserved the life sentences they received, and I believe it is a very important part of this article. However, I have no desire to shock people who either don’t want see or can’t take this kind of hardcore reality.

Also, a few people have asked how they can make donations to the victims of this terrible crime. Out good friend ‘E’ took the initiative and dug up the information needed. and I decided to add it to this update so more people will see it. Thanks to ‘E’ for caring enough about these people to doing a very good thing for their sakes.

I don’t care how old or what these “children” went through at home, there is an innate sense of decency that most are born with I believe! How many people live through neglect and abuse and grow up to have productive lives? The excuse of being poor, not having any opportunities is a crock of bullshit, America is the land of opportunities why do you think that we have 13 million illegals here…because this country sucks? I have said it before and I will say it again welfare did nothing to help anyone, the idea was good,a hand up but it has turned into a generational handout that will continue to help producing people who by the very nature of the way they feel they are owed something will keep this kind of crap happening! Education is not the answer to all the ills we see here, but IMO it might have helped the people involved in this terrible crime! What a damn waste! I think once you turn a corner like these scumbag kids did there is no turning back, the 14 year old included!!

      • bo says:

i hear ya there deedee, and here in austin we r fuckin flooded with illegal motherfuckers.the so called justice system is almost barney the fuckin dinasoure bout this shit any more. they all did it REGARDLESS OF AGE,let them ALL,get fucked in the ass in the joint the same fuckin way.period.

      • Steph-Ann says:

Are you kidding me? The so called ‘expert’ claims these monster’s brains weren’t fully developed?! Hey dumbass, my three year old’s brain isn’t fully developed, and he wouldn’t hurt a fly. When HE see’s someone crying, guess what…he shows concern, compassion! It has nothing to do with ‘brains’, EVERYBODY knows the difference between right and wrong. I don’t care what you grew up in, or what the ‘experts’ claim. Everybody ‘knows’…some just don’t give a fuck. It’s not about mental soundness, or lack thereof…but about heart. Something these idiots have none of. How can you listen to someone beg and cry, and…laugh? That’s the very defintion of evil, in my opinion. This is definitely one situation where I’m pleased the F’ers were tried as adults, and sent to Big Boy Prison, where I hope and pray the same thing…rape after rape after rape, happens to each of them. They’ll understand sodomy all too soon…see how they like it! If I was the parent to any one of these bastards, I wouldn’t admit as much. Great job on the parenting, ya’ losers! Sorry, I’m just…UGH!….so disgusted! If you can’t raise a child right…don’t have any! If they’re heading down the wrong path and you want to put it off on thier ‘environment’, or the ‘neighborhood’ in which they are forced to live in…then get them the hell out of there! It’s called, getting your lazy ass back to school and making something of your good for nothing self, so you can afford to provide better for your children. And, don’t give me no whining ass BS either, this country is full of opportunites for those who are willing to WORK hard…. (sigh)…and now I’m done….I feel better.

    2. Harley Quinn says:

It takes a lot nowadays to really get to my heart, but when I read the first article I too tried to fathom what the mother and son must have felt while this was going on, only to be turned to each other and forced to do things to one another while being harassed in the background. I can’t imagine the look they might have shared, or if they tried to avoid eye contact whatsoever. It breaks my heart to imagine them sitting in the tub for so long afterwards not knowing how to comfort one another. All because the mother thought she could trust a nice neighbor.

    3. LJ says:

I have a close friend whose Mother never taught him a moral code either. She didn’t want him, would not feed him and kicked him out on his ass when he was 14 into the bitter cold streets of the Wisconsin UP.
He is now an upstanding citizen in his community. A Big Brother in his town and spends more time for charity than any other person I know. Life is what you make it.

“Their attorneys brought experts who testified the three were neglected, abused and so young when committing their crime that their brains weren’t fully developed.”

Another take on the above statement for me is not that these kids need a break but now these boys have had help in the modling of their minds and not in a good way so the best thing for the greater good of society is to get these pieces of shit off the streets.
The 12 year old boy and his mother deserve the break!

      • Steph-Ann says:

OK! I guess Taylor’s mother….well, let’s call her his ‘carrier’, becuase she obviously didn’t ‘mother’ him, at least not well…..anyway, she made the comment on how she’s still trying to come to terms with the fact her 17 year old will spend the rest of his life behind bars….Awwwe, poor thing…. Does she stop to wonder if that poor woman’s son will ever comes to terms with the fact that his own mother was forced to give him a blow job?!!

    4. SD says:

This story has stuck with me since the moment I read it. I cannot even begin to imagine what this other and son went through…the choices she was forced to make just for a chance that these fucks would not kill her or her son. I can’t even say what these guys deserve for what they did…it’s much to graphic to type.

    5. dani says:

in the original post, there were some links to a website where some fliers had been made trying to excuse these youths and make it seem like just because of their age, they should be excused. *and not to mention the race card was played, of course* i will repost it for some newer people
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_2FADJp4C2HM/R-2FgwvycrI/AAAAAAAAAfw/XMrZF-TyuWw/s1600-h/dvflier2.jpg … i believe that these scumballs should get life without possibility of parole OR death penalty. its been proven they did it, and they cant even say why. these monsters will never change, and should never be released back into humanity. there is that possibility that if ever released, they could graduate to murder. so i hope they have “fun” in prison and get what they deserve

      • deedeebug95 says:

Jeez can we just pull out the violin…that web flier makes me as pissed off as the article here! This kind of crap just gives license to these scum to go out and commit these terrible crimes, unbelievable!!

      • Steph-Ann says:

The race card? What was the race of the victims? I don’t even know… I can’t stand it when that card is played. I have two bi-racial boys, who are looked at and perceived to be black. (Sorry, I don’t say ‘African American’ cause guess what…you’re not. You’re just American. Does that bother you? Why do you want to differentiate yourself? That kind of defeats the purpose, don’t ya’ think? I don’t walk around referring to myself as Irish American. That’s just….dumb.) Anyway, I won’t allow my boys to use that as a crutch…you persevere, you keep going till you get what you want. Anything’s possible…for Christ’s sake, look at Obama. Don’t you dare look me in my face and tell me black people can’t rise above. Get over it. Slavery was a million years ago, Caucasians are now pretty much the minority, and we finally have a black president….it’s all good. Put that card back in the deck, throw the whole thing out and shut the fuck up.

        • R.A.N. says:

actually 200-300 years ago. just had to point that out.

          • Jason says:

Arguably Slavery didn’t truly end in the United States until the 1970′s with the end of Share Cropping… Given that 1865 is the book end to the colonial slavery era in the United States, that’s a mere 145 years.

    6. Fred says:

Ok, Let me agree with the atty here for a bit. Let’s say tha the 17 year old was “retarded” (developement held back) by a factor adding up to about 5 years – so mentally he’s 12.
What were most of us now 40 year old males doing when when we were 12? Jerking off to Playboy or any other form of porn we could get! These kids have the internet available…..

Sorry – they should have stayed home and choked their chickens.

They’ll be reaaly sorry when they become the victims….

    7. E says:

This story frightens and sickens me. Every time I think I’ve heard about the worst possible kind of crime . . . A comment at another site states “The mother is educated and they are practicing Catholics . . . good, decent people. They are legal Haitian immigrants who were temporarily living in the project. They kept to themselves and chose not to associate with the “hip-hop” element. This may have been why they were targeted for attack by the perpetrators, all described as black male teenagers.” SIckening. That poor woman and boy. I would love to just . . . I don’t know . . . a new home, money, good food, an all expenses paid trip to Disneyland for the boy . . . all “stuff” and certainly nothing that will give them their lives back or restore their spirits, but I’m just longing to bring a smile to these strangers’ faces.

I believe nothing can rehabilitate the perps. They are so far gone in cruelty and madness they may as well be out on Pluto. “Neglected,” “abused,” — oh boo fucking hoo! And their ages? Forget it! Certainly they were old enough to plan the assault.

I’m drifting from empathy to anger here and don’t have the energy to rant. My fantasies of elaborate, twisted, painful punishment for these turds with legs will have to wait til another day.

    8. E says:

And the second photo from the top — the one of Taylor — what the hell is up with that? Are we mugging for the camera? Who the fuck does he think he is, Cheyenne Cherry?

    9. kira says:

Their lives are done. It makes me sad that the mother and son had to go through that, but it also makes me sad that these young guys could have chosen to do anything else with their life but they decided to be criminals and hurt other people. Pretty sick, and the way Lawson is testifying in the youtube clip, like he does not care at all…which really scares me. He just tells his story like it’s nothing. Disturbing.

    10. VCBecky says:

I like Florida’s Life sentence. Life is LIFE without the possibility of a reduced sentence or parole. I’ll pay for that with my taxes, and gladly. Death would be too quick. Let them live long, miserable existences in prison. Let them rot.

      • E says:

Glad to hear life means life someplace in this country! When I heard the sentences the first thought was, “Oh no, that means they’ll be out in 10.”

      • deedeebug95 says:

Becky, I am with you if those little fucks were here in Texas I would gladly pay for them to never see daylight!

      • CP says:

I am a transplant floridian. I hate it here, but I will say this much. Life sentences ARE life sentences down here and the law does not play games, even with offenses committed by minors. They are VERY tough on crime down here. I imagine they have to be though…considering the amount of transients we have. This place has more child molesters per capita than any other place on earth, I’d bet.

Crazy. Lived in New York City my whole life and never saw the atrocities I have seen since moving to Florida.

    11. Steph-Ann says:

You notice how both Taylor and Poindexter used the expression ‘Deep down inside’, when addressing the court? Deep down inside, I feel terrible, or deep down inside, I’m sorry…. If you douche bags truly felt remorse, it should be right there on the surface, eating at you. You shouldn’t have to look ‘deep down’ for it, and you sure as hell wouldn’t be mumbling obscenities after being sentenced. You’d be humbled, accepting, knowing you deserve far worse. You deserve death.

      • E says:

I noticed that too, and to me it smacks of rehearsals. Somone sat down and wrote a speech for these little fucks and coached them and practiced, probably was holding up cue cards the whole time in the court room with words spelled phoenitically — I don’t know if that’s spelled right, I’m too goddamn mad — so these sorryassed scumsuckers would say the words right. And, I think I know why the one fucktard mumbled an obscenity. He had decided that mouthing the words “I’m sorry” made everything A-ok. And got mad because the court didn’t agree. He WAS one of the speech makers, wasn’t he?

Steph Ann, I think you were wondering earlier about the victims’ race. FYI, I read they were legal Haitiam immigrants. They probably can’t wait now to get the fuck out of Dodge and go back, and I don’t blame them, but it’s a shame. They sound like good people and imigrants we need more of.

        God I’m mad.

        • Steph-Ann says:

Thanks, E. Yeah, I watched the above video, backtracking the part where Poindexter mutters something…. It looked and sounded (to me) like he said, “Snitch” or “Snitch bitch”… something along those lines. (Most likely in reference to Lawson) IDK, I could be wrong, but if not, his comment only further proves he isn’t sorry for a thing, and he should rot in a cell. He seems more bothered that he was ‘told on’, than for what he did, forever ruining those two people’s lives.

      • deedeebug95 says:

Deep down inside they are sorry they got caught!

    12. Jason says:

I’ve been thinking about this case for months, and the comment from E about the rehearsals finally let my biggest worry about these monsters come forward.

When I was in High School, I remember hearing the phrase “Pulling a Train.” I didn’t immediately find out what those words in that order meant, but I remember the animal like noises I made in horror when I figured it out. Pulling a Train, at least in my community, was where a drunk girl ended up in a back bedroom at a party, and took all takers. To simplify it, under North Carolina law, a line up of men(loose interpretation of the word) would agree to Gang Rape a girl too drunk to effectively say no and by all laws too drunk to say yes. I was, to my knowledge, never at a party where a Train was pulled. I heard about friends of mine (some women) who ended up in lines they thought were for the bathroom, only to find out that someone down the hall was pulling a train. When I read about this rape and a similar rape ring in Australia, where muslim immigrants would date rape and then call their friends for a gang rape of women in public parks, I remembered the concept of the train and how some of the worst people I’ve ever met conducted themselves.

When I consider the concerted effort and the radial relationships used to conduct this gang rape, I get the feeling that there are women out there who’ve suffered from these monsters before. What were the phone conversations? What were the text messages that turned this into this organized event?

      • Steph-Ann says:

I know, it’s digusting. I’ve heard of that ‘Pullin’ A Train’ business too. All I know is, I’m a single mother trying to raise two little boys into men. If all my efforts to love, teach and nurture…. raise them RIGHT, fail… and they turn out like these monsters, capable of hurting people to such a sinister degree, then so help me…God as my witness, I’d take them out myself. Another tragedy altogether, is that there’s another 5 or 6 hoodlums involved who will never be brought to justice… but Karma’s a bitch.

    13. KC says:

Thank God- A smart judge. I have no problem with the somewhat “lower” sentence for the youngest- they needed his testimony. Maybe he can do some good still with his life. Is there a way to donate something to the victims in this case, since its the holidays? Surely they could use some real help- God knows they’ll need therapy… Anyone know?

    14. E says:

Thanks for bring that up, KC, I’d like to know too. It would feel so good to send money to those folks. I’ll search the net.

    15. Chinchillazilla says:

“He shouldn’t be put away forever,” Gershman said. “Life means life and you will never, ever get out. That’s not appropriate.”

Guess what? The victims got life sentences. They’ll live with this trauma forever. Fuck the perps.

    16. E says:

      Greetings all,
I scrounged around in Google looking for info on donations but the most recent article I could find was from 18 months ago. I called a phone number of a church given in one article and left a voice mail but haven’t heard back. Will keep trying.

Others in the net have been asking about this same thing.

Does anyone know how the victims are doing? Are they still living in the U.S.? Were they at the trial?

    17. poptart1 says:

Sickening. My heart goes out to the victims. What the hell is wrong with people? Kick ass kudos to the judge on this one, though.

I’m with chinchillazilla on this one and second her motion, fuck the perps.

This crime is almost as bad as the one out of knoxville, it’s in the same league is what I’m saying, minus the murder factor, and that’s a scary ass thing. How freaky and fucked up is it that these people exist all over the damn place it seems?

    18. Carah says:

This is so unimaginably horrible. I would be MORTIFIED as a mother to have ANY of those rapists as my child. Hell, I’m horrified they’re in the world! I have two young boys who know better than to hurt anyone like that. HOW do you live with the fact that you had to perform sex acts with YOUR OWN CHILD!? How can you not think of that every time you look at the one person that is the most precious to you? HOW? I’m so worked up.. this hurts my heart.. it truly does. As far as the perpetrators parents? How do you NOT disown your “spawn”? Gang rape is not something that you can “accidentally” do.

    19. MeAhna says:

“He shouldn’t be put away forever,” Gershman said. “Life means life and you will never, ever get out. That’s not appropriate.”

Um, excuse me but what about the victims? Even tho it is all “said and done” they will have to live with this the rest of THEIR lives. These dumbass kids had a CHOICE to do this. Their victims did not. Let’s not forget that. The victims will have to live with the damage this has caused them forever. THATS not appropriate.

    20. E says:

Today I was given a name and number for donations to the Dunbar Village victims. Be aware that the woman, Amy, is according to her voicemail out of the office until January 4 I think. I tried reaching someone else in the office who might know about donations but got tangled in the branches of the phone tree. Anyway here tis.

I figure I’ll call again in January and send something. They won’t get it in time for Christmas unfortunately.

Excellent work E. I’ll add this information to the update so it’s more visible. Maybe I can track down someone who can take donations right now – I learned to be very good at playing phone tag from researching a couple of difficult stories I wrote.

If you live in the South, Midwest, or a few other places, you can also simply walk into a Wachovia and donate to the St. Ann’s Victim’s Assistance Fund and put the Dunbar Village Rape Victims in the memo field.

            http://www.wpbf.com/news/13671540/detail.html

            • E says:

Damn, that’s right Jason, I saw about Wachovia on the Internet and lo and behold there IS one a few miles from where I live. I couldn’t remember seeing any. That is a better way to donate as fewer of my hard earned pennies will go to the post office. But does that fund still exist? The references I saw on the Internet were all from 2 years ago.

            • Jason says:

My wife or I will know more on Monday morning.

            • Jason says:

After an hour of careful search by the kind people at the branch closest to where I work, the Wachovia folks had to give up on finding an account associated with this charity. There were other St. Ann charities, but none even close to the scene of the crime or community that I could find.

THANK YOU for checking Jason. Too bad about the fund not existing, would have made things easier. I’ll call Amy after the first of the year; I THINK her voice mail said, January 4. Anyway will pass on what I find out.

Here’s hoping these two precious people will have as merry a Christmas as they can under the circumstances.

Anyone know when the perps begin their sentence? Will they celebrate Christmas in The Big House? Sure hope so. Maybe a cell mate will dress up like Santa, go down Poindexter’s chimney, and deliver an extra special “present.”

awesome. it’s one thing to sympathize and a step up to do something about it. thanks for this.

    21. sof says:

14-year-olds may not have the experience to deal with the complexities of more subtle moral matters, but they sure as hell know that gang-raping a woman while her child watches is wrong. Hell, even a 7-year-old would know it was wrong. When it comes to something so brutal, his age doesn’t make any god damn difference.

This isn’t just a case of indifference to human suffering — these people got enjoyment out of it. Forcing a child and his mother to perform sex acts is downright sadistic, and merits an extreme punishment. You can’t rehabilitate someone from that level of brutality… anyone with even the tiniest shred of a conscience wouldn’t dare do something like that, and those without a conscience can’t be ‘cured’.

    22. Daughter of the Firmament says:

I hate fucks like this and I hope that they all suffer in prison. They will soon find out what gang-rape is all about!

If I were living in a neighborhood like that, I would want to own a couple of pit bulls and have a nice pump-action shotgun under the bed. The racking of the shotgun is the universal sound for “Get the fuck out!”

    23. Malt O'meal says:

I love this site…and I absolutely hate it….I used to day dream about a secret team of CIA trained assassins that would simply weed out animals like this so there would be no need for a costly trial….taxpayers should not have to pay a red cent to try these creatures or house them with their buddies in a state prison. Of course, I would throw most of their families in the chamber with them as they obviously passed on the broken DNA and the fact that they feel at all slighted by the verdicts proves why these scum of the earth had no mechanism to keep them from doing this heinously vicious act. I know we can’t play God but in cases where there is NO doubt I think this guy should be raped and tortured and their families made to watch. Capital punishment doesn’t deter but trust me, if you knew that was the outcome people would spend more time trying to raise their ghetto children a bit better.

    24. hazzard2myself says:

If people tend to have sex, they tend to have children, in turn that tends to make you be more responsible or it should make you want to be a better person to be an example for their children. WHAT the HELL were these parents doing NOT raising their kids? I would say they have failed at their job. NOW someone needs to PAY for their piss poor management skills with children. I hope they take from the families and use it to pay for these vicitms counseling and bills the rest of thier lives.
I should have been a doctor. I would tie stupid people’s tubes and snip snip as part of OBAMA CARE. THAT would help the nation out!

    25. kieran says:

what th hell ws th guy saying in th second vid… maybe its jt me being stupid, but im clueless lol. on a serious note tho, i feel for that poor woman nd her kid- they will nevr forget this… on th plus side tho, this guy wont be able to hurt any1 else anytime soon… y cant all rapists get 30 (or preferably, more) years?! For th first time in ages, well done to th US system!

    26. CAD says:

Let me clarify since a I see a few people are confused. Haitians are black, so the race card play is retarded. And I wouldnt put too much emphasis on exactly how these demons were raised, you can only do so much as a parent and around 13-15 the childs peers replace the roles their parents once held as influencers. My Grandmother had 11 kids and they ALL turned out completely different and she would always ask me (about the ones who went astray) what did i do wrong? i dont understand, i didn’t raise them like that, i treated them all the same. I knew it wasn’t her fault and it is not fair to place all the blame on the parents. You give people the tools for life and a blue print but it is up to them to build THEIR OWN life. if society followed exactly what was before them we would be archaic. We would be without technology because our parents told us that what we dreamed was silly, stupid or impossible. We would still own slaves because we modeled our lives after our parents, who were good to us. we might as well be clones then. but ANYWHO with that being said, death is too easy for these cowards and life in prison doesnt seem like enougth either, i wish we could torture.

      Merry Christmas! ; )

    27. ava says:

      phht.
if i was any sort of relative to these boys i wouldn’t shed a tear. How a mother can still love a monster is beyond me. i love my family to the death, but if one of them did something as horrific as rape or murder you can bet i’d be on the victim’s side of the courtroom trying to raise their sentance.

    28. Come and See says:

You would expect they could keep that behavior in Africa.

      • Jason says:

You’d expect that knowing how to tie your shoes and simple reasoning skills would be givens for someone who hit the submit button on this website after typing what you just wrote. Your assumptions come from a juvenile and weak mind. Set aside your fantasies and try very, very hard to find some form of concrete worldview that includes something more than the contents of your own ass. These were monsters hurting human beings in the United States. The criminals in this crime probably couldn’t find Africa on a map, let alone in their racial identity. The victims are from the Western Hemisphere, but they didn’t earn this, deserve this or suffer this because the criminals were black.

      • Jas says:

Stupidity shining a dim light, once again.

    29. Jas says:

I lurch around these parts so I hope none of you mind that I add my 2cents.

People that stand and watch others be harmed scare me. A mob of them scare me more. Then there are those that will par-take in on the brutalities, instead of helping the victims. Horrific. Sick. And fear are felt, not for me, but for my children and there children AND your children. THEN there is All these guys going to prison, then being released one day ON society. All I can do is nod my head.

      The Reality about prison:
Once a “situation” arises in County- and it will. They will be taken out of General Population and will never be placed amongst the “population”. They Will Always Be In Protective Custody. So their beatings and raping will be limited.

      Kinda sad, really.

I hope that this mother and son can move on.

      • E says:

Jas, you may not read this as we’re awhile after the fact but for what it’s worth here goes. A cousin of mine was a prison guard and worked at each max security federal prison in California. He said sooner or later, some general pop inmate(s) always always ALWAYS gets hold of low end inmates like these fuckers (sex criminals, child molesters or abusers). He said it’s not a question of “if,” but of “when.” The inmates have little else to do but think about things like this and plan their attack. Many of them bribe the guards. It’s very easy for a guard to accept a bribe and simply look the other way. These little dicks will be protected for awhile but not indefinitely. May they be reamed often and violently. Amen.

        • Jas says:

Well….Thank You E. Ive often heard that pedos and rapists get put into the lower sec with general pop–while general pop is threatened repeatedly by the admin and gaurds about these “little dicks” getting hurt. I hadnt thought about them being in Max or High. Cheers!

          • E says:

You bring up a good point Jas: maybe they will end up in lower sec; guess I assumed/hoped they would go into Max or High. Maybe the savagery of the attack will mean a harsher punishment and they will go where they should and have to take turns with a big daddy. Or maybe they’ll end up at a place for the criminally insane like Etascadero (spelling?). One of the places my cousin worked. Didn’t the defense attorneys for these POSs claim their brains didn’t work right, or some such nonsense? Fine — throw their narrow asses into high end, max security, along with some foam-at-the-mouth crazies. Film it and post it on Youtube. I’ll watch.

Greetings all, I just left a voicemail with Amy at Catholic Charities who may or may not be handling a fund for the Dunbar Village Victims. I’ll pass on any info I get from her and hope it’s still possible to make donations.

    31. E says:

Greetings, still no word back from Amy. I just left a second, more detailed voice mail. If the fund no longer exists I hope she at least lets us know. Will keep you posted!

I hate how everyone blames the parents. Think about all of the things you do that aren’t your parents fault. Think about the many ways that you disappoint them, and rebel against them, and don’t forget to consider that there are many influences in a person’s life aside from their parents. Your own children might be doing some things that would surprise you. So stop blaming the parents, and put the responsibility where it belongs, which is with the criminals.

      • justjaney says:

Basically it all comes down to ‘choices’ whether you are from a ‘good’ family or from a ‘bad’ one…every single person in this world makes there own choice. They ‘Choose’ to be either good or bad. Basically that simple, IMO.

This story made me physically ill. I had to stop reading it before returning to the comments.

    35. Great post I am definitly bookmarking this. Thanks for the resource.

    36. Bob says:

No amount of Court “Justice” will ever make things right in the eyes of the victims. Someone mentioned previously that they wanted to do anything to bring a smile to their faces. In my opinion, there is but one thing that MIGHT give the victims a sense of justice…REVENGE! Well here’s my idea:

1.) Strap all four (possibly others?) of the perpetrators to chairs in a dark room. Restrain them.
2.) Give the mother and son an assortment of power tools and medical instruments. Perhaps along with some toxic and abrasive chemicals.
3.) Let the victims have some “alone time” with them.

Also, maybe a doctor should be nearby just to make sure they don’t die too quickly. :-)

Or better yet, here’s what I would do:

Take a hyperdermic needle, filled with isopropyl alcohol, and inject about 50-100 mL into EACH of the criminals’ scrotums. I bet they’d REALLY be sorry then.

There is no fucking justice in the court system. These fucks will NEVER get what they truly deserve (see above).
Fucking bitches, I would love so much to beat them until their brains ooze from their eyes!
