TIPPET FOUND GUILTY, JUDGE SAYS STORY “UNBELIEVABLE”

Hearing Justice Bruce Glass declare Stanley Tippett a guilty man is what the grandmother of the 12-year-old girl he sexually assaulted says is the best Christmas present.
Justice Glass convicted Mr. Tippett of all counts against him, which include sexual assault, sexual interference, kidnapping, dangerous driving, failing to stop, and two breaches of court orders.
Mr. Tippett was driving through Peterborough’s south end during the early morning hours of Aug. 6, 2008, when he came upon a drunk 12-year-old girl lying in the middle of the road.
During the first two weeks of the trial, back in August, various witnesses testified the girl had been drinking with her friends that evening. Mr. Tippett and one of the girls helped put the 12-year-old into the passenger seat of Mr. Tippett’s van.
The older and more coherent girl was dropped off downtown at her request. After that, Mr. Tippett claimed he was carjacked by two men who hit him and dumped him in a ditch somewhere around Oshawa, leaving with the van and the girl inside. He said he got a taxi to take him near his uncle’s home to get a battery for his hearing aid so he could call police.
“I find that Mr. Tippett’s account of the evening is unbelievable,” said Justice Glass.
The judge said Mr. Tippett’s claim that he got the taxi to stop near instead of at his uncle’s home so the driver wouldn’t get lost was unbelievable, as was the fact the carjackers left him with his cellphone and about $500 in his wallet.
When a man living near Courtice Secondary School heard screams, he called 911.
Durham Constable Robbie Harding responded and saw a man by a van on the school grounds who promptly got into his van and took off when the officer identified himself.
Justice Glass commented on the van becoming airborne as it left the school parking lot when he talked Wednesday about the dangerous driving and failure to stop charges.
A police chase ensued, but it had to be called off when Mr. Tippett ran through two four-way stop intersections and a set of stoplights.
“The officer identified Stanley James Tippett as the driver,” said Justice Glass.
“Mr. Tippett has a more unique head structure,” he said later, referencing how the officer would be able to properly identify Mr. Tippett, as did many other witnesses.
The van was found later that evening.
The judge also talked about when the officer came back to the school and saw the 12-year-old come out of the woods half-naked with signs of sexual assault.
Crown attorney Jim Hughes is seeking to declare Mr. Tippett a dangerous offender, which will take some time if it is approved.
Mr. Tippett’s next day in court will be Jan. 13 when more information about the application will ne known.
“At least this way he can’t hurt another child,” said the victim’s grandmother with teary eyes.
She says the girl, who was present for the verdict, is doing well. She is also thankful to the police officers and everyone who brought about this verdict, especially the man who phoned 911.
While being escorted form the courthouse, Mr. Tippett commented he was telling the truth.
Still a liar to the bitter end, right Stanley? It must have been tough to have the judge in your trial call you a liar in open court. But right now Stanley, if I were you, I’d start showing a little remorse, because I believe if Crown attorney Jim Hughes is successful in having you declared a dangerous offender, you will never get out of prison alive. Not that I care Stanley old boy.
So anyways, good news, eh folks? This almost makes up for that little weasel J.P. Orlewicz getting himself a new trial. I’m not sure what sentence Stanley will face if he isn’t declared a dangerous offender, but I’m hoping that the murder rap he manged to beat will come into play, one way or the other.
This guy is a predator, a pedophile, and a conman. God knows how many other young girls he has taken advantage of, and how many more he would have hurt if he managed to beat this conviction. Fortunately, God, or bad luck, or Karma finally caught up with Stanley that night, because events seemed to conspire to get him caught.

Nice work. Like the website….the only downside to a site like this is that these are REAL people doing REAL SICK things to others. It’s too bad that there is always something new going on here. Pray for a slow news day I guess. Good job on keeping the public informed on what the fack is out there.
YAY! He’s been convicted! What an amazing Christmas present for the 12 year old, and everyone in Peterborough. One more pervert pedophile off the streets! Hopefully his sentencing will be as wonderful for us as his conviction is!

I’m guessing that they either work in the news or were physically in the court room, because I made my post within seconds of the news report filing.

I saw the name “Stanley Tippett” in my local paper today, and had a hard time placing it at first, but I knew it was familiar.
Then, I had a flash of insight– “Hey, Stanley Tippett! Isn’t he the wonky-headed molestery-looking guy that I saw on PYSIH?” Why yes, yes it was.

I thought that was the stupidest alibi ever when I read it. The man must be mentally retarded to even think for a minute that anyone with an IQ of more than room temperature would believe that for a second.

Lemme play devil’s advocate here fpr a minute – what is a 12 year old doing drunk? Especially on a street?
I am NOT excusing this fucktard with a unique head at all – it was rape pure and simple and he deserves to roast for what he did.
I am aware that many 12 year olds are into drugs and have had sex. At 12 I was sampling from my parents liquor stash every so often myself.
But still – some other heads need to roll because she was abole to obtain alcohol to get drunk and she is not a “closet drinker” as other people were aware of the fact that she was drunk.
A drunk 12 year old needs to be dropped off at:
1. Parents’ house IF the parents are known as decent people who will be there to receive their child immediately
2. Police Station
3. Hospital
4. Fire Station – there is usually one close by in most cities and our bravest are in a better position to handle such han most of us are. In my small city, all these places are close, BUT in a bigger city (like where I grew up) I’d want the time with the child to be minumized, so the fire station would be the first place on my list.
The Legal Drinking age in Ontario, Canada is 19, so I’ll more than concede that there’s a definite problem to be addressed here, and I’ll fully agree to the 4 locations listed, save the first. If a 12 year old is visibly intoxicated, I think police station, hospital or Fire/Rescue services are the only options that remain. A drunk 12 year old is a failure of character that deserves public attention and public help. Turning a child over to her parents after she’s found drunk, is like locking a dog in the same room it’s crapped on the floor, and expecting not to find a mess 12 hours later.
I live in the same town, Peterborough, where the girl was abducted. From what the news papers and news mentioned, the young girl was from a lower-class family and was being cared for by the grandmother. Apparently the grandmother let her go to a party (birthday or something, I think), not knowing that she’d get plastered. Apparently though, the girls curfew was 1am or something like that. I’d like to know what the hell the grandma was thinking, giving the child a 1am curfew?? When I was 12, curfew was 8pm…even on weekends!
Honestly? IMHO, her parents, guardians, whomever, should be sitting in jail with him. I mean, c’mon…common sense should tell us that none of this would have happened had the girl, at TWELVE years old, had not been DRUNK on the side of the road.

That’s a little too far. I think she was stupid to be drinking, to be drunk, to be out that late and to be in a car with a stranger, but I don’t think she or her parents asked for her to be raped.
No, but had she not been drunk.. she wouldn’t have been passed out on the side of the road, she wouldn’t have needed help, and this guy would never have picked her up. The alcohol (and her poor judgment and lack of parental guidance) is, at least, a little bit to blame.
Let’s divide these up into two sets of crimes.
On one hand, we have:
Public Drunkenness
Underage Drinking
Reckless Behavior
Ignorance
Stupidity
The victim is guilty of all of these, and her parents are complicit.
On the other hand:
Rape
Assault
Fugitive from Justice
Speeding
Resisting Arrest
Child Rape
These are all crimes that the victim is neither complicit or responsible for. She bears no responsibility for these crimes, only Stanley bears responsibility for these crimes.
Was she picked to be the victim because she was available? Yes, but the crime is not committed solely because of opportunity, it is committed because of character flaws in the criminal.
While I believe that it’s just disgusting that a 12 year old is allowed to go out until as late as she wants, doesn’t have a curfew and subsequently get’s completely plastered because of the lack of parental guidance, I believe the situation would have happened if she was home safely, tucked into her bed. It just would have been another child, or teenager or young woman.
Stanley has a history of predatory actions. He was a suspect in the disappearance and murder of a 15 year old, when he was in his early 20′s. He was put on probation for a couple of years for stalking a young lady, and was found to have items used to kidnap someone in his vehicle. He’s been known to the Peterborough police as being a predator, and has been on their radar for some time. It’s unfortunate with scumbags like him, that the authorities can’t take action and arrest his ass until he’s pretty much caught red-handed.
It’s also unfortunate that an out of control 12 year old had to be the victim, but sometimes we have to ‘sacrifice one, to save many’. Hopefully she’ll be able to recover, become a stronger person, and change the dangerous path she’s been heading down.
The kid is lucky she lived through it. If she has the smallest brain in her head, she will take this as a life lesson and get herself in check.
I certainly hope she’s being taken care of by someone more in touch with reality than her grandma obviously is. She needs boundaries, to say the least.
I’m gonna say that while nobody asked for her to be raped, her parents (the people responsible for her ultimate well-being) didn’t exactly ask for her to be tucked in safely either. There are often many culprits when a child is hurt or injured.
If she’d been drunk and walked in front of an oncoming train, would her parents be culpable for that? If she’d been 9? If she’d been 4?

this is disgusting and one really interesting thing that must be pointed out is the fact that the police HAD to call of the search because it was dangerous to the public. I have heard of another story similar to this but in that case, the little girl in the trunk during a high speed chase did not come out alive. The police officer was told by his supervisor to call it off because it was too dangerous. Eventually it was discovered that 4 hours later, he murdered a 15 year old girl. And in this case, he could have murdered that 12 year old little girl as well. i think they need to come up with a solution for people who are trying to escape from police and not wanting to endanger the public and the risk that they are running because they are seriously up to no good!
