The Reverend Pat Robertson
I’m sick to death of Pat Robertson. This article doesn’t have anything to do with Pat being a Christian, because, really, Pat has very little to do with being a Christian. This article is about Pat Robertson, the man. Pat Robertson, the hypocrite. Pat Robertson, the evilest son of bitch who ever tried to pass himself off as a man of God. With that stupid grin on his face and his condescending, syrupy-sweet voice, Pat has appointed himself God’s spokesman on earth and made some of the most hateful, evil statements I’ve ever heard.
He has publically announced, at one time or another, the following decrees in the name of God:
Hurricane Katrina was God’s punishment for the United States continuing to support legalized abortion. 1800 dead, including many innocent children, because The Good Lord was upset about the murder of, well, innocent children. Seem to me that someone who’s got it together as well as God does could have come up with a better way to get his message across.
The September 11th terrorist attack was a judgment from God. He was angry with us because of America’s growing acceptance of Gay people and their right to live in this country with the same rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as any other citizen. Apparently, The Big Guy is quite homophobic – according to Reverend Pat that is.
Back in the mid-1990’s, Disney World in Orlando, Florida began the tradition of having a Gay Pride day. Pat announced that God was quite upset about that. He told the world that the Lord came to him in a dream and told him he would send a great hurricane to destroy Orlando Florida and Disney World. Now the last time I looked, both those places are still on the map and no
more worse for 15 extra years of wear and tear. Did God lie to Pat Robertson, or was Pat just plain full of shit? – I leave it to you to decide.
In 2007, Robertson said God helped him with another prediction – a bomb attack on the United States. “I’m not necessarily saying it’s going to be nuclear,” he said on the “700 Club” Jan. 2, 2007. “The Lord didn’t say nuclear. But I do believe it will be something like that.” The following year, Robertson explained the lack of an attack this way, “Somehow the people of God prayed, and God in his mercy spared us.” Or maybe He just forgot – God is a busy God you know.
But today the Reverend Pat Robertson outdid himself.
On Tuesday, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck the island nation of Haiti. Due shoddy construction, many buildings collapsed on their occupants. The latest estimate of casualties is
there are over 100,000 dead and many, many more injured. Haiti is one of the poorest countries on the face of the earth, the government is overwhelmed, and there is suffering beyond anyone’s imagination. If these people don’t get help soon, a million dead is a real possibility due to starvation and disease.
Did Pat Robertson encourage the millions of members of his “700 Club” to donate to Haitian relief? Did he ask his large congregation to pray for the survivors? No? Well let’s see exactly what he did say:
“And you know, Kristi, something happened a long time ago in Haiti, and people might not want to talk about it.
“They were under the heel of the French, uh, you know Napoleon the 3rd and whatever, and they got together and swore a pact to the Devil.
“They said, ‘We will serve you if you’ll get us free from the French.’
“True story.
“And so the Devil said, ‘Okay, it’s a deal.’
“And, uh, they kicked the French out, you know, with Haitians revolted and got themselves free.
“But ever since they have been cursed by, by one thing after another, desperately poor.
“That island of Hispaniola is one island. It’s cut down the middle. On the one side is Haiti on the other side is the Dominican Republican.
“Dominican Republic is, is prosperous, healthy, full of resorts, etcetera.
“Haiti is in desperate poverty.
“Same island.
“They need to have and we need to pray for them a great turning to God and out of this tragedy I’m optimistic something good may come. But right now we’re helping the suffering people and the suffering is unimaginable.”
What Pat is referring to here is a Haitian legend which tells of the leaders of the revolt against the French receiving help from the voodoo gods. I don’t know the details of this legend, but I can tell you it has nothing to do with the actual history of the first successful slave revolt in the Western Hemisphere. But Pat didn’t let the fact that he was paraphrasing a folk legend stop him from ignoring the sacrifices of all the men and women who gave their live so that former Black slaves could live in freedom.
I was very angry when I read this, angry enough to start writing again after taking several weeks off for health reasons. It’s midnight and I’m still writing. I guess I just can’t wrap my mind around the kind of thinking that says I’m a good Christian who loves my fellow man but can tell the world that my God has no problem with wiping out 100,000 people in a few short minutes. Imagine the arrogance it takes to believe you know what is in the mind of God to begin with. And Pat feels no shame as he tells us all that what he’s just described as mass murder could be a great opportunity to sign up a few more believers.
Paul Raushenbush, Religion Editor for the Huffington Post, wrote about Pat Robertson’s comments in his column. I only wish I was able to say it as well as he did:
Go to Hell, Pat Robertson — and the sooner the better. Your ‘theological’ nonsense is revolting. Don’t speak for Haiti, and don’t speak for God. Haiti is suffering a catastrophe and you offer silliness at best, and racism at the worst. Haiti was the first island in the Western hemisphere to overthrow slavery and white oppression — this is what you call a pact with the Devil? God’s heart is breaking with this tragedy, and ours should be too. You never had much credibility — but now it is all gone.
But here’s the thing. I’m wondering why God puts up with this shit. Pat just told the world that the Lord killed 100,000 people over a 200 year old curse. I know for myself, if some clown accused me of killing just one person I’d be mad as hell. I guess you need a lot of patience to be God, and this is why I’m just a man.
[sigh] Thanks for letting me rant a bit tonight, but I’ve never liked Pat Robertson, and today was the last straw. He’s a joke, but he’s a dangerous joke because a lot of lost people searching for direction in their lives look to him for guidance. He should be more careful about what he says and does, but because I believe he’s evil to his core, he’s deliberately leading people in the wrong direction.
To Mr. Raushenbush: We’re going to do our best and see if we can’t accommodate your wish for Pat Robertson to go straight to Hell. We’d love it if you also took this opportunity to use our poll.
UPDATE
My good friend Tito sent in a link to this clip from The Daily Show With Jon Stewart. It’s hysterical no doubt, but the brilliance with which Mr. Stewart gets his message across and stays politically neutral at the same time is something to see.

Thank you John Stewart for taking shots at both the right and the left for trying to use this terrible tragedy to further their respective agendas. There’s no place for politics when people can’t get even basic human needs like food and water.
And Tito, you have no idea how timely and useful this video clip was. Bless your little Hispanic heart for sending us the link. As usual your contributions to the discussion are clever, intelligent, and always to the point.

The most ironic thing about your article today is that as soon as I heard about the earthquake in Haiti, I wondered how long it would take Robertson to say something stupid. Seems he’s always able to find a reason why God is punishing someone. What a joke.
I was just waiting for some religious right-wingnut to spout off on the Haiti tragedy. Well, PR didn’t disappoint. He came slammin’ home w/some of the most vile and vitreous spew I’ve heard since the last time he ran his filthy mouth off. The guy deserves to burn.
Right wing? No guy Robertson is just a wing. WAAAAAAAY out there. He is a dolt and does not represent anything but his own back account.
ShouldI post a few Binden, Obama, Billory, Bubba quotes? Lets not get in to that. Atleast I wouldn’t suggest it for you.
Careful there Mulch, the 700 club strongly supports Sarah Palin’s PAC, Palin has endorsed Robertson on several occasions(and Robertson stressed his support for Republicans in the last election), and Robertson himself serves as a direct mouth piece for Republican business. The American Center for Law and Justice is Robertson’s effort to counter the ACLU but the explicitly support Republican and Right wing case law.
I’ll admit he’s one of the craziest wing nuts on the ultra conservative wingtip of the right wing, but if the Revered Jeremiah Wright is going to be called Left Wing by all three major 24 hour news networks, Robertson should be an embarrassment for every Right wing politician whose shaken his hand and accepted his money, let alone those who’ve appeared on his show.
Well I support Palin myself. I bought and read her book and enjoyed it.
Did Robertson, Rush or Glen Beck ever advocate it was OK to execute 250,000 people simply because they would not take to a political system?
Does anyone here know who did? If you guessed Your president’s good friend and mentor Bil Ayers then you would be correct. Google Wetherman Manifesto and read for yourself.
But Rush and Robertson are shit? All they do is speak. They don’t advocate killing people. They haven’t planted bombs that have killed policemen have they?
So please someone better fucking show me where the rightwing so so much worse than the left. Why is it so fucking bad to listen to a man who speaks rather than follow a murdering terrorist who is OK with executing 250,000 over fucking politics!
Selective sight is a wonderful thing is it not?
Turn off the fucking TV and read. Look for information. I do. It’s easy.
That’s just it Mulch, the right wing is not better than the left wing.
God isn’t on their side any more than he’s with the other. If you’re going to spend an entire election cycle blasting Obama over Reverend Wright, you should spend the same time blasting Palin over Pat Robertson. As far as Ayers though, this was Obama’s friend and Neighbor. Sarah Palin married Todd Palin the traitor connected to a terrorist organization. She had 5 children with a traitor.
Can you maybe see how left versus right here, the consideration of one versus the other from either perspective kinda gets “mulched” to pick an interesting term?
Jason it’s not only the election cycle that has me pissed off. It’s the free passes everyone with a D next to thier name gets. We right now have a tax cheat telling us to pay our taxes. We have a man as president who has only voted present in the senate.
We have so many “czars” now that answer to only one person. Is that what the founders of our republic envisioned?
Bil Ayers planted bombs and committed murder. He advocated the execution of 250,000 Americans simply becasue they would not take to the communist form of government. He is a murder and has killed. And I should get upset about a possiable connection to and orginization? Ayers has murdered. He has killed police officers.
I get that you’ve been radicalized by the talking points of your side, but let’s take each of these with a grain of salt.
Reagan appointed Czars, Bush 1, Bush 2 and Clinton. The term arose in America 1926, when a New York Mayor appointed a Czar to handle a milk crisis, at that time a British newspaper term for an executive official appointed by the Prime minister, but not holding Parliamentary oversite. Throughout the 30’s, press corp folk called men appointed by various agencies Czars, including Elliot Ness, who brought down Al Capone. Roosevelt tossed off the sting of the journalist’s title and owned the word. He appointed his officials and he called them Czars in the same way a black comedian uses the N word to take the sting away. I would prefer we dissolve the agency except in crisis, but now is most definitely a crisis, and the need for specific and targeted leadership is unfortunately necessary.
To Bill Ayers, I want the man in prison, but unfortunately the FBI boned the entire mess. Their COINTEL procedure was found to be illegal and unconstitutional, and Ayers’ lawyers were smart bastards who convinced the right judges to waive the bomb and terrorism charges. I think OJ did it, I think Bill Ayers was a coward scared to go to Vietnam, and I think that we will not have an effective government in Washington until a viable third party breaks up traditional fund raising.
To the free passes and D’s next to their names, it’s a giant game not incomparable to when the Republicans played it. There was a way to properly impeach and remove Bill Clinton. Airing a sex scandal was not it. Get him on fund raising. Get him on Chinese favor currying. Get him on anything other than a Christian right pumping boon dongle with a string of sexcapades. George Bush II should have been impeached, removed, tried for treason and executed over the Iraq mess(lies, comfort to the enemy, etc, etc.) Three of my cousins would like to speak up for that, but IED’s blew them up in a war we should have fought for completely different reasons. I will honestly vote for Republicans from time to time, but I live in a State where the Republicans tripped all over themselves to make fools. As I like to say to my very Republican Michigan friend, “don’t let a Democrat build a car, and don’t let a Republican build a building.” The moral of the adage is that Democrats should be blamed for the failings of the North and Republicans since 1945 should be blamed for the failings in the South.
To return to the topic, Pat Robertson is old Republican news here. He should be just as embarrassing as Reverend Wright (though as much as I despise Sharpton, they’re not in the same league). I accept that the wing nuts of each party “represent” them in the public eye because they are sensational, I just refuse to call the Left more wrong than the Right in this matter, and if I must be tarred with Wright and Ayers because I believe in more left leaning proposals for solving fiscal solvency than I do right leaning ideologies that have consistently failed mathematical scrutiny, then I’m sorry Mulch, we both get to share the mud and give our political ideologues a big ole smooch. I’ll happily throw Wright under a bus if you’ll get Pat Robertson. I’ll probably get more time for it, due to Hate Crime legislation, but you’ll be eligible for the needle. (note: I do not seriously advocate killing another, law abiding citizen, this was in the vein of passing a joke to Mulch)
Mulch, to rebut your statement that Robertson has never advocated killing someone, here is a FOX NEWS article that mentions back when Robertson suggested we assassinate Hugo Chavez. You can read more about it form other sources, but I assume the only one you would trust is FOX NEWS. Check your facts before you make outlandish statements. This took me 30 seconds to find.

Robertson is an extremist. His opinions are not representative of conservatives, Republicans, or Christians in general.
“I wondered how long it would take Robertson to say something stupid.”
I’m thinking it was about 2.7 nanoseconds. A new record.
I can’t tell you how happy I am that you included Pat Robertson on this site. I’ve been brimming with rage ever since I read about what Robertson said on CNN.
The Freedmans are just as bad.
Do you mean Milton and Rose Friedman, the pro-free-market economists? If you do, you’re simply wrong. Among other things, they were both Jewish, and they’ve been dead for several years and have nothing to do with this, so let them rest in peace.
p.s. Max its a bit refeshing to read about someone other than a child molester/abuser or animal molester/abuser. Thank you.
Rush Limbaugh needs to join Pat Robertson – what empty souls these two are:
From the January 13 Limbaugh broadcast:
After earthquake, Rush says Haiti produces “zilch, zero, nada,” asks when Obama will call for Aristide to be returned
Limbaugh says, “[W]e’ve already donated to Haiti. It’s called the U.S. income tax”
Limbaugh: Obama discussed Haitian earthquake sooner than attempted Christmas bombing; “Did he apologize for America?”
Oh jees Chuckles, don’t get me started on Rush. Rush has never let the facts get in the way of what he was telling his listeners. How this man is taken seriously by anyone is one of the great mysteries of the world.
He’s the only person that ever made me ashamed that I’m a recovering drug addict, when he was popped by the DEA for having all those Oxycontin, as if being related to him in that way somehow made me dirty.
I read Al Franken’s “Rush Limbaugh Is A Big Fat Idiot” a while back, and Franken does a great job of dismantling Limbaugh the man and his so called vision. The book is a bit dated today, but it’s still a good read.
ummmmm Sharpton is a racist and a complete moron. He has incited riots in New York and tried in LA. According to Sharpton 99% of all whites are racist and hate blacks. He is the cause of more race hate than any single person today.
I’m not a fan of Rush. Hell I can only get the internet streams of his show. I don’t. I really don’t care. But he believe in what he believs in. Have any of you listened to his show? Have you treied to fact check him? Untill you do either how can you accuse him of lying?
But do you remember Air America? I remember those shitheads. Leftwing commie to the core. They blamed Bush for the 2005 Tsunami, war in Somalia, poverty in South Africia, floride in water in WA, and so much more bullshit. When they failed they tried to blame it on Bush and the right wing. Was so funny reading this drivel about how Bush is soooooooo evil but not a single shred or proof of anything.
Does anyone want to turn this political? Please do so I have my facts backed up by miltiple sources. Please be my guest.
Have I listened? Unfortunately yes
Have I fact checked him? Yes, and he is usually stretching it any time he says the words “believe me when I say…” or attempts to cite something from a news source.
I have listened to his show, and he is a liar of the first order. This isn’t a political thing for me Mulch, this is a moral thing. Pat Roberton is an evil son of a bitch, Ann Clouther is crazy – she says things without that shred of proof you speak about on a regular basis, just because it gets her name in the papers. Rush actually told people not to help the people in Haiti because it’s really just an Obama democrat conspiracy to curry favor with black voters. That’s outrageous.
On the other hand – I think Al Gore pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes with this Global warming thing – someone should take a look at his stuck portfolio to see how much money he’s made because people bought into it. I do not believe the is such a thing as global warming, and I never have. For every Lie the Republican Right has told I know I can find an equally stupid lie the Liberal Democrats have told. That fat fuck Michael Moore loves to make shit up as he goes along.
I don’t take a side when it comes to stuff like this – I call them like I see them. If I piss people off, well it’s too bad, but I can guarantee I’ll get around to the other side one of these days. The debate about health care isn’t a moral issue, it’s a idealogical one, and I would never write about it here. A lot of people dislike Barak Obama, but again, it’s not a moral issue, it a political one. As for Fat Al Sharpton – I’ve always bashed him every chance I get as a race baiter and racist.
My story was about what Pat Robertson said on Tuesday. Rush Limbaugh came up because of what he said on Wednesday. Sure Reverend Wright is a nutjob, who’d going to debate that, but If we’re going to go back and rehash every evil thing people on both sides have said, this is going to become another out of control thread.
I’ve never hid my distaste for both extremes of the political spectrum. and I’ve always taken a stand against bad people, no matter who they are, what political party they belong to or what Race of religion they happen to be. I shouldn’t have to recite my resume every time I make a comment about some new outrageous quote a fool like Limbaugh or Robertson says. Nothing about this thread appeared to be right wing bashing – if it had I would have nipped it in the bud. I was prepared for that eventuality.
Sometime you have to trust your friendly neighborhood editor to do the right thing, the same way I always have.
Check this out. http://www.galleryoftheabsurd.com/2010/01/pat-robertson-makes-a-pact-with-the-devil.html
The artist 14 always cracks me up
Chuck it’s true what Rush says. We have donated through taxes. No other nation on the planet gives more than the US. Not a single one. See the Tsunami of 2005. Who was the first there? Who gave the most in money and food? Who got the most bullshit? Thats right the US. What about the last big earthquake in Turkey? Same questions.
Do you suggest we send more? How much. I donated €50 yesterday. Thats enough for me. How much have you donated? Yes you personally. I won’t give anymore. I already donate to deployed solders, wounded solders, I sponser a family in Norhern Thiland and I like to drink beer.
When is enough? What is enough? Rush has a point and he asked a question. Instead of critizing the man answer the question first.
Mulch,
While unchristian of me to answer exactly how much, it’s a comparable number. When is enough, enough?
A few days ago, a magnitude 7.x Earthquake slammed Haiti’s 640 square miles, less than a third of the size of Rhode Island with a population around eight times the size of that US state. They’ve cut down almost every tree to burn for charcoal to cook their food, they’re the only place in colonial history where a successful slave revolt resulted in a new nation, and they’re constantly compared to their neighbor the successful Dominican Republic, despite the disparity in the two nation’s histories. You can safely argue that Haiti did it to themselves, but that would unfortunately miss why so many, many men and women of African descent live there. I do not subscribe to any excess of White guilt, but I do think that helping a neighbor, whether it be old man Cuba when a hurricane kills 200 people or Haiti where apparently 91,000 people, roughly 1% of their total population have been killed. If a similar calamity were to occur in the US? Like say Texas and Florida and everyone in it were to be destroyed by a super massive hurricane, I’m certain many of our neighbors would give what they could. That’s the magnitude here. Imagine if in the middle of our Recession, two major American states ceased to exist.
I don’t fault Rush on his right to speak his mind, I fault Rush when he consistently fails to actually compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges. He can advocate a measured response, but he should at least mention that it looks like Haiti will not be recovering for a few decades because 1%, the vast majority in their capital city, are now dead and it will take weeks to dig them all out of the rubble and properly dispose of them.
Bah, picking Florida an Texas is too much, let’s call it South Carolina. Not so major a state but a better comparison.
The US gives more in dollar amounts, but not percentage-wise. As a percentage of our GDP, the US actually gives less than most wealthy country – actually less than ALL wealthy countries except Italy. Do you know what percentage of the discretionary budget is foreign aid? It’s less than 2%.
Furthermore, private giving overseas is only high because of remittances (e.g. Mexican immigrants sending money back home to family in Mexico).
I don’t know where this ‘Americans are more generous than anyone else in the world!” BS came from because it’s simply not true.
DO you have figures Mary? The summary I saw was from 1995, that showed charitable giving from Americans was 3.5 times greater than France, 7 times greater than Germany and 14 times greater than Italy.
This particular claim was repeated by a Conservative magazine called the American.
http://www.american.com/archive/2008/march-april-magazine-contents/a-nation-of-givers
Mary, I usually do not get upset over the responses to the blogs here but I must say that you are wrong, wrong, wrong!!! The U.S. is sending 100 million to Haiti no other country that I have read of so far is sending anywhere near that amount. The U.S. is also sending cargo planes full of supplies, ships that have hospitals on board and the most important our troops….when there is a world crisis the world looks to the U.S. for help, and we always respond! Nothing against others here from other countries, but I am sick to fucking death of those that bash this country one minute and then during a crisis call on us for help!!! As ugly as it sounds I would like to see what the out come would be in one crisis IF we did not respond….so any American haters can take a big flying leap up my ass. And Mary if you are here in the states and don’t like it then leave…do not let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!!!! And if you are in another country by all means stay there we really have enough people here that really hate us already, of course they love the education and the money they can make here!!
lets just put it point blank, without the usa the other countries would be fucked.period.
Oh NO you didn’t……..Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi……lol
janey janey janey,lol,
Janey baby, you KNOW i love tha Aussies!!!! BIG KISS!!!!
I love the Aussies, justjaney.. I was stationed with them in Kuwait. So a big “Aussie Aussie Aussie, oi oi oi” from this American! They were loads of fun to play bingo with on Tuesday nights.
That’s just terrible.
If I remember correctly, after the flood with Noah, God promised never to punish his children like that again.
Robertson needs to re-study the bible.
This story is a great example of the First Amendment and why we need such.
I believe it was Bill Maher who said that we need a dictator to force health care reform.
This story highlights why our country’’s founders chose to construct the government that they did – no monarchies and frequent elections. Imagine if Pat Robertson somehow became Bill Maher’s dictator
Playboy would be underground and showing ankles at best
Hustler may show knees….
The First Amendment allows this site to suggest that Pat Robertson belongs ion a place way warmer than Haiti and also allows us to agree or disagree with such a statement.
I do believe that there may have been some people that made a pact with the devil, but what Pat Robertson implies is that the entire country attended the “Black Mass” and such is just moronic.
As this country goes down the crapper, are we gonna hear a story of how a bunch of Masons made a pack with the devil as well back in 1812? I am not saying such did not happen, but we as a nation have never made a pck with the devil – well at least until Obama was elected……..
Is it too early to vote Obama to hell? I’d vote yes.
Might be, but then again, Obama has condemned Uncle Sam more than once….
We can do like ACORN and register people more than once to vote him to hell…..
This is not an accurate representation of a christian!
Totally agree.
It’s a pretty good description of one who claims to be a Christian.
I am sure that Pat was a good Christian at one time, but as with any type of power, he has been corrupted and now he misuses his position.
BUT a good Christian is not always a “nice” person, doing the right thing is not always popular…. like taking the keys from a would be drunk driver……
IF God is punishing Haiti, it’s not Pat’s job to rub their noses in it, it’s Pat’s job to help rebuild Haiti into a country that will honor God.
My daughter is doing real bad this quarter, she does not need me rubbing her nose in it…. She has a report due on John Locke and Natural Law – I gave her a book and copied pages from another book. She needs resources and a kick in the butt. Rubbing her nose in her low grades will only sufficate her chances of any progress.
So the question is – will Pat help out? Rebuild hospitals, schools & churches or will he let the government do such? We know that the government will screw things up…. Like rebuild a whorehouse as to ease unemployment…..
You’re right Penny – that’s why I wrote in the second line of my story that “This article doesn’t have anything to do with Pat being a Christian, because, really, Pat has very little to do with being a Christian.”
I wasn’t attempting to bash Christians here, I was just bashing Pat. I think most Christians are good people trying to live good, decent lives, just like the rest of us. The problem is people like Pat, William Hagee, The Catholic League and Born Again fundamentalists (to name just a few) have become the face of Christianity, to the detriment of the vast majority of true, honest to God believers.
I was referring the Rev’s actions, and not your descriptions of the events Max. Negative toward Pat and not Max. You did a fine job of pointing out the wolf in sheep clothing! Some people are so gullible and beleive everything they see on tv. This man clearly doesnt have the values that a true christian demonstrates.
I know Penny – I was just clarifying it for anyone who might be a little confused about my story or your comment. You can’t be too careful these days, if you get my drift – LOL.
…. Oh mercy… ;)
all i can say is thank hell for ozzy and black sabbath, haiti is in austinnites hearts and minds.and this pat robertson is 1 of the very reasons im a recovering southern fuckin baptist.
Look who’s back!
But this time — props on a fine article, and an opinion I enjoyed reading. :)
Thank you James – I felt pretty good last night, and Pat just has a gift for winding me up.
What a putz…
Pat Robertson has nothing to do with Christianity and if people have any wits about them, they would boycott him because he makes Christians look bad. He is an intolerant, hate-mongering psycho with a god-complex of his own.
He makes “predictions” about bombings, hurricanes, attacks, etc. etc? He thinks that his PRAYERS can stop hurricanes and heal people? Sounds like this guy thinks that HE is God! And, excuse me, but I’m pretty sure that goes against the FIRST commandment!
Moreover, it’s patently offensive that he tries to give his crazy, hateful and nonsensical opinions and beliefs legitimacy by claiming that the lord, himself, came to him and told him what to say. “The lord told me that hurricane katrina was because of abortion,” “the lord told me…blah blah blah.” This guy is a disgrace and is disgracing the name of God by using his name to advance his evil agenda. I believe God would be very disappointed that this man is claiming to speak for him when most (if not ALL) of Robertson’s beliefs go directly AGAINST Christian ideals of acceptance, charity, honesty, etc.
I hope he burns in the deepest part of hell for preaching HATE! I know that he hasn’t killed anyone, but the type of hate, intolerance, ignorance, and blind conviction to divisiveness that he preaches every day is the kind of ideals that fuel hate crimes!
Still a Christian has to say “No” to somethings, but mostly being a Christian is to say “No” to having sin enter one’s own life.
Yes, Christians are supposed to accept people, but not all of a person’s behaviors. For example, a homeless shelter has a set of rules and if a person, who needs shelter, arrives in a drunken state that person should be turned away because of heir unacceptable behavior.
The question here is What Would Jesus Do?
If one really reads the Bible beyond what most churches read (like the next few verses after the popular part the “Loave and Fish” story and the ever so famous “Let he that not have sin cast the first stone” In the first Jesus feeds the people for a day, not a lifetime. In the second story, he forgives the woman, accepts her, but tells her to “sin no more..” We all know that she’s goingto sin, but what Jesus is saying – “no more sleeping around”.
So would Jesus be a good Christian?????
He had to “earn” his way to he cross, he pissed off a lot of he wrong people.
So what would Jesus Do?
Help feed & rebuild.
He may help build a hospital on the site of a whorehouse….
What about all those unemployed call girls???
In Europe many hookers are being employed as CNA’s – turns out that hookers tend to make good CNA’s. As hookers, many have to deal with people at their worst or many people’s dark side. Thus such people can deal with elderly who are no longer at their best better than most people!
So what about the pimps???? Jesus would retrain most of their best employees.. Jesus would either have to run the pimps out of town, or once again find himself being put to death….
Yes, Pat Robertson is wrong for kicking people when they are down. He should look to rebuild te country in a manner pleasing to God.
I love Pat Robertson. If it isn’t the Jews, Muslims, loose women, or the blacks that Pat has to defend us against, it’s another thing. That is what Haiti get’s for worshiping Satan and stuff. Where is Madonna when the children need her most?
<–is literal…Madonna donated USD 250,000 and asks her fans worlwide to match her donation or help in any way they can. :D
Pat Robertson, Ann Coultier… all of those freaks aren’t only giving Christians a bad name, they’re helping to perpetuate the belief that all Americans are insane Crusaders.
Any thinking person knows not all Christians are like this and I am well aware that the average person in most of the World knows not all Americans are like this. It still burns when we have to deal with it. Some day, hopefully soon, Pat Robertson will die. When he does, I do believe the sun may shine a little brighter.
And on the other side you have Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, Obama, Billory, Buba, Binden and all the rest of the clowns trying to run the country right now. I stress trying becasue they are only fucking it up completly while making a ton of cash in the process.
Amen Brother!!!!!
I wasn’t talking about ’sides’, I was talking about ‘crazy motherfuckers’. Crazy motherfuckers practice all sorts of politics.
Thank you so much for this one. This guy is a total douche, and so is any other person who follows his so-called “Christian” views. He is so far off base from being an actual Christian, that hell might as well not even wait for him to die. Maybe we will get lucky and and he will suffer his own personal earthquake right under his own feet, causing hell to swallow his ass whole. I personally don’t believe that God punishes, not even the sick fuck wads like this guy, but that these evil sons-of-bitches choose their own destiny; and hell is waiting. Sometimes I wish that God would punish, and brush these pesky dust bunnies off of this planet with one swipe, but He has more patience and love than any of us could comprehend. Go ahead in enjoy that love while you have it Pat, because you look like you don’t have much time ahead of you before you are roasting in the heat like a ballpark plumper. Great write up, Max. P.S. I certainly wouldn’t object to a story on Fred Phelps since we are on the self-righteous topic “wink wink”.
I do believe that God does punish, but as fellow human beings, we should help rebuild Haiti into a good place. Not everything bad is a punishment…..
The same thing could happen here as well…….
Max…I hope you are ok buddy…please dont hesitate to ask if you need anything
Hell yeah he gets my vote….MFSSDB :) (mother fucking scum sucking douche bag,) incase you didn’t get it..lol
Oh, right, God is punishing present day Haitians (most of whom are Catholic, thus Christian, no matter what that fool Robertson says) for something that didn’t actually happen to begin with, 200 plus years ago! I can’t wait to see how/when he backs off this statement, like he’s had to “back off” of so many others. A scumbag.
Excellent article, and well-needed. Pat Robertson is not a human being.
I can’t believe the chick in the video didn’t drop her jaw wide open listening to Pat’s bullshit. That must have taken some self control.
Pat Robertson is a wacko like Fred Phelps and Jeremiah Wright. All of them deserve each other. PYSIH should have an entry on Phelps and Wright.
I haven’t read this article yet because I’m still working my way through the back catalog, but I wanted to make a quick comment…If Pat Robertson’s on the site, why not Fred Phelps?
Yeah, Fred Phelps should be here. He is really hated here at PYSIH. Well, he is the most hated person besides Lori Drew and Osama bin Laden.
It’s just that I’ve heard about Fred’s exploits and they are just relentlessly vicious, going so far as to picket the funerals of soldiers and such? And then there’s that whole “God Hates Fags” thing…
I think Fred Phelps is a closeted homosexual and is lashing out as a result. I mean he is so obessesed with homosexuality. I also he is an adulterer and likely has spawns out of wedlock. I think Lori Drew is one of them. Another rotten scumbag is Michael Crook.
http://twitter.com/michael_crook
He has his own site linked at that link. He is just as bad as Fred Phelps and admires him and his evil cult.
More about him.

http://truthluster-thetruth.blogspot.com/
You’re right AgJu, Fred deserves a place on our All-Star team. It’s just that I have a soft spot in my heart for the crazy bastard. If it wasn’t or him, I’d probably still have the same views about homosexuality that I had in my twenties – You, know, Gay people were free to live where they wanted to, as long as it wasn’t next door to me, and Gay people were free to teach in our schools, but keep’em away from my kids. But hey, I would pat myself on the back for being such a tolerant guy.
But when Matthew Shephard was murdered, and I saw Fred Phelps and his gang holding their “God Hates Fags” and “Matt In Hell” signs outside the church where his funeral was being held, and I thought to myself, “Jesus Christ, aren’t this kid’s parent’s inside this church trying to mourn their murdered son?” And then it hit me: That as long as I continued to believe Gays and Lesbians were even a little less a person than I was, I was always going to be on the same side as Fred Phelps.
So I took a good look at myself, and today I know that Gay folks are just as human as I am – They aren’t bad people or broken people, they’re just people, and deserve to be treated exactly the same as anyone else does. I firmly believe I’m a better man because of this change in my thinking, and I owe it all to Fred Phelps.
I betcha Fred would shit fire and brimstone if he knew he was responsible for my “behavior modification”. I sure would like to tell him this story some time, or tell it to his big mouth daughter Shirley if Fred’s not with us any more.
One more thing, if you’d like to see how much if a piece of shit Fred Phelps really is, I suggest you read the following article by Jon Michael Bell, a former reporter hired to investigate Fred Phelps and Westboro Baptist Church by Stauffer Communications. The article was never published, for reasons that are explained here. You can find the article in it’s entirety by clicking here. It’s a pretty long read, but well worth the effort if you’re interested in just how much of a hypocrite and liar Fred Phelps is.
We’re glad to have you on our side. I wish more people could think the same way you do, but freedom of speech does run both ways so we can’t force them to change. We can only hope that things get better by showing strength and character.
But still…couldn’t we bust Fred at least for picketing funerals and stuff? I’ve even got the perfect tagline…”God Hates Fred!”
:)
I don’t think yer going to get much of an argument that Phelps needs to be curb stopmed. Hell I’de be very happy to do the deed myself!
Freedom of speech can only go so far then respect, deciency and commen sense must take over. Sharpton has never understood that. Real or imagined wrongs form 200 years ago. Rev Wright what an asshat.
So why should only one from one side get stomped. I’de be willing to do sharpton and wright also. They are all the same anyway. Only have different skin color.
Because this story is what Pat Robertson said on Tuesday. It isn’t about Pat Robertson the voice of the religious right. It isn’t about Pat Robertson the Minister. It’s about Pat Robertson the fool who blamed a natural disaster on a made up folk legend to serve his own purposes.
You’re reading way more into my story than I wrote. I don’t care about politics, not when I’m writing for this website, and I’m not going to watch what I say for fear of offending this ideology or that. You’re just going to take my word for it. Honestly Mulch, I’m disappointed that you don’t know me better than that by now.
I believe that there’s a danger when you start to call yourself a Liberal or a Conservative. It forces you to pick a side, and sometimes that causes people to become blind to the flaws in their side’s arguments and the other side’s truths. I see way too many lies coming out of both camps to want to join either one.
Fred Phelps is anti-gay, but he is not just anti-gay. He also goes after:
Christians-Mainly Catholics and Mormons, also Protestants.
Jews-Has a more anti-Semitic streak as of recently.
Military-Thinks people in the military are stupid and lazy.
Americans-Thinks Americans are too patriotic.
People Die in Tragic Circumstances-Disasters and murders, even picketed Caylee Anthony’s funeral.
Blacks-Thinks they cater to gay rights. Ironically, he was a civil rights lawyer and defended many Blacks.
Hispanics-Tolerant of gays and are often Catholics.
Asians-Tolerant of gays.
Racists (KKK, Neo-Nazis, Black Panthers, etc.)-Either “fags” or “fag enablers”.
He uses homophobia to justify other prejudices. Another rotten scumbag who is just as bad as Fred Phelps, Michael Crook. He often attacks military, police, and young people who die in tragic circumstances. He is notorious for his anti-military sites. He is anti-gay like Fred Phelps, yet he claimed he was gay. He also praised Fred Phelps and approve of picketing funerals.
I’ve seen the “godhatesfags” website and the “godlovefags” website presenting the opposing view. BOTH are way off, I can barely believe that both of these groups read from the same Bible or worship the same God.
How I see it is tha God loves the sinner, but hates their sin.
godhatesfags.com focuses on the fact that the fags identify themselves with their sin and go on from there.
godlovesfags seems to think that God simply loves them because they are human beings (true) and they can continue in their ways (false). As I see it, godlovesfags.com could easily be godlovesmurders.com and godloveschildfuckers.com simply becase they are human beings as well.
Mathew Sheppard seems to be quite the lightning rod. From what I have read about him, he was NOT a very nice person; I would not like him as a neighbor – he was a real asshole – gay or straight – I would not him near me. BUT I also feel that protesting at a funeral is just plain wrong – let the living mourn in peace. A decent Christain does not rejoice at death; but rather the fact that someone has entered heaven. Being such a “good Christain” fred Phellps should mourn even Mathew Shepard’s death because that is one more soul gong to hell, it’s one less soul that Jesus was able to save.
I read Matthew Shepherd murder was actually a violent robbery driven by methamphetamine use. Shepherd did have a history of drug use too after he was raped and beaten in a high school trip to Morocco.
http://abcnews.go.com/2020/Story?id=277685&page=1
With all due respect Fred, and you are due a lot, I could never worship a God who calls love and/or sex between two consenting adults a sin no matter who those consenting adults are.
Taking joy in another persons flesh with or without love should be considered one of the highest forms of appreciation for Gods creation, just under parenthood. I hear that to waste or ignore a gift from God is a sin. Isn’t the flesh a gift from God? Isn’t man’s ability to experience joy and fulfillment a gift from God? Hetero couples have sex without the desire to make babies, so why can’t homo couples? Even if it’s a dirty gay fuck between two consenting men, it’s still two consenting men so why should it be an affront to God?
Lev 18:22 speaks out against homosexuality, but homosexuality is not part of the “Big 10″……
While there ae many things that are mentioned in the Bible over and over, I am not sure how many times homosexuality is mentioned.
Homosexuality, IMO, may be like “jumping on the couch” was at my parents’ house – an offense that would get desert taken away as opposed to not taking out the trash – something that would get the allowance taken away…..
But keep in mind, I am NOT God, nor has He consulted with me….
Pat Robertson needs to take some lessons from Fred on how to reconcile being a Christian with being a real person. Thank you, Fred. :)
The problem with the Fred Phellps people is the fact that there are Christian groups who feel that homosexuality is a illness that can be either control or a sin from which one can reform, and offer a variety of counseling and therapy services.
Fred Phellps is not offering any real solution to the problems he sees Freddie just does not seem to understand that it’s kind of hard to reform when one is dead…..
Even Richard Simmons (someone we used to love to crack on as teenagers) see a problem, but rather than write a book of fat jokes, he decided to do something about obesity long before most people saw it as a problem.
Max, I never knew much about Fred Phelps so I just read the article that gave web address to…all I can say is WTF I thought that I was well read but for some reason this evil thing has escaped me. After reading the article I visited the website godhatesfags.com, i am so creeped out right now. Fred makes Pat Robertson look like an angel. I think that I want to smack you for directing me to that scum…sometimes ignorance is bliss! Really though thank you for my lesson of the day, That whole family is just sad, how can anyone teach such hate to their children. I need a shower and to go to Church because ‘ol Fred has really put the evil on,I feel defiled yuck!!!
Well, here are a couple of tidbits that might cheer you up a little:
According to Wikipedia, Pat Robertson is 79 years old and Fred Phelps is 80. It’s very likely we’ll be toasting their departure from the world very soon.
Perhaps a “Dead Pool” would be a fun new feature here, Max? Yes? :-D
Hey, what happens if I make a pact with the Devil to take out Pat and Fred and their ilk? Will that curse all of America, or, like, just me, or my family, or what?
These are the things I need to know.
If you do it for your own peace, you are cursed
If you do it to make our country better then the USA is cursed
If you do it with a flag in the room, then that nation is cursed
If you do it in the name of Allah, you are a terrorist
If you do it for your pet, then you are entitled to medical help, rehabilitation and disability benefits
Well shit……I made a pact with the devil and don’t remember when…
“If you do it for your pet, then you are entitled to medical help, rehabilitation and disability benefits”…does this mean I’m going to hell, again or is that still?…lol
Also:
“Apparently, The Big Guy is quite homophobic – according to Reverend Pat that is.”
I’d really like to know why God keeps MAKING gays if he hates them so much. I mean, I don’t go around peppering the world with spiders.
Because we’re fabulous!
My theory however is that God never actually said he hates gays. Some kind of moral majority came together and decided to speak for God on a lot of things, but really based only on their supposed superiority. The Bible was written eons ago where it could’ve been very easy to take “God’s” word and kinda, twist it around a little just in case you didn’t particularly like what He said.
I mean, if God spends so much time talking to these people, why doesn’t he actually spend any of that time helping solve some of the crises in the world? The idea that all God is doing is speaking through these people just seems ludicrous to me.
And then you get to the whole dichotomy of God. Some people say he is loving and forgiving, others say he is vengeful and rigid. So what is it? Does he only love certain people? Sounds more like racism and fascism to me than anything else.
Then we get to the people today who hide behind the Bible and use it as an excuse to reinforce their own idiot prejudices. My thinking is, the Bible was a record of the way things were and should NOT be used as a hard-and-fast way of doing things NOW. I mean, wasn’t eating shellfish considered evil? And what of all that malarkey about women staying silent in church and such? And what’s all this crap about “original sin” where even babies can be held as spiritually damnable beings?
Then there’s the hypocrisy of it all….how many stories have we heard over the years of all the behind-the-scenes shenanigans and dirty dealings that these so called, “clean cut and righteous,” folks have been involved in? Not just in religion, but in politics like the whole Larry Craig ordeal.
Bottom line is: people like Pat use the Bible and “God’s” word as a means to shield and distract. It gives them an excuse to act righteous while distracting others from the times when they are breaking the very edicts that they supposedly uphold. It’s a very evil, profitable business.
That’s not to say God is bad or I don’t believe in God. I can’t say I’m a terribly spiritual person, but I’d like to believe that God loves all his creations. He put us here, wound us up, and let us go so we could all do our own thing. We lives for years and years so that we can show Him our true character and prove who we really are. Those who murder, abuse others, and commit terrible acts are generally bad. Those who make mistakes, but try their hardest to bring a little light to this world, in small or grand gestures, are good and a candidate for entry into Heaven.
And since I’m gay, I’d like to espouse on one thing: what is so wrong with a man being with a man or a woman being with a woman? Did God mean for things to only go one way? Man + Woman = Child. Is that all sex is, just a mean’s to an end? Can it not be seen as something pleasurable or a special moment between two people?
And so what if those people are of the same gender? I refuse to believe that I, who tries to be honest, polite, and intelligent, am going to straight to Hell simply for being gay. I’m not going to believe it and I’m not going to stop. If God really did mean for things to go one way, why did he create free will? Why did He give our bodies the ability to feel pleasure? Why did he make the different races and nationalities? Why did he create emotions?
Would we really want to live in a world where everyone is the same, of one mind and body, day in and day out until we expire like a carton of milk? That, to me, would be scary. So I’m not gonna listen to belligerent, slimy twits like Pat or Fred or other such phonies. I’m just going to keep doing what I’m doing.
It must be some other god that they’re talking about. As far as I have read, the Judeo/Christian God doesn’t hate any of his creations.
Unfortunately some people have to hate someone in order to feel good about themselves. Too bad it’s not legal to stab them in the liver.
Becasue God loves the sinner but hates the sin.
I’m no scholar, but isn’t misrepresentation of God, acting as the false Voice, a sin? Like, a BIG one? “God is Love”. Isn’t that the basic truth of Christianity, or am I totally off the mark? Mulch, Fred, help me out here. ;)
The words “The Reverend” are so tainted for me now, and have been for years. Jesse Jackson, Pat Robertson, those jackholes have made it into a joke.
Pat Robertson should be smashed like the slug he is.
God IS love, not a doormat nor enabler.
I love how Christians pick and choose what to live by. The Bible also ways we can sell our daughters and stone our neighbors to death.
And I still don’t get why the government doesn’t allow gay marriage. The Constitution, the very piece of paper this country was founded on, SPECIFICALLY states “separation of church and state” so I have no idea why gays can’t marry. You can’t get any closer to the church than that. *mind boggled*
Hey, I’ve stoned my neighbors. Just not in the way God intended. Shit that reminds me, they still owe me money from the last time I stoned them…
And about that constitutionally guaranteed separation of church and state… it’s not really in there. I did a google search for it, and I came up with the following semi-easyish explanation:
“Although most people believe the words “separation of church and state” are actually in the U.S. Constitution, the words cannot be found there. Rather, they are words penned by Thomas Jefferson in a letter which explains the First Amendment of the Constitution or at least Jefferson’s view of it. The actual words in the First Amendment of the Constitution read as follows: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. . . .”
This is just as bad as the guy who runs the Westboro Baptist Church. his name is: Fred Waldron Phelps, Sr. There church website is: http://www.godhatesfags.com/
So, a pact with the devil helped overthrow slavery in Haiti?
…Hail Satan.
Pat Robertson would have had a great career during the Spanish Inquisition,or the witch burnings in Europe and the States….what is so amazing to me are the sheeple that follow him and his ilk. they don’t want to study the Bible or any other Holy books it is easier for them to just believe what is spewed from the mouth’s of the so called Christians! God will not be too kind when that man stands at the the gate of heaven…I don’t think he will be able to walk through….
Bill Ayers would have been at home in Russia in 1917 during the Communist revolution when people were being shot or hanged willy nilly for not being a communist or supporting the czar. Thank God Obama looks up to ol Bill Ayers so much. It gives me a warm and gooey feeling inside.
Reverand Wright would have been right at home in the Ivory Coast in the early 80’s when blacks were slaughtering and white they saw ont he steeet. I’m betting he would have been whistling and had a massive hardon while cutting the head off a white woman.
Mulch, you are so correct about those two!! Pat,Bill and Wright and Al all have first class tickets on the crazy train!!!!
Jeremiah Wright is nuts. Same goes with Bill Ayers.
Bill Ayers is also a terrorist and murderer!!!
I love Pat Robertson, that idiot is such a hoot. You never know what is going to come out of his mouth but it is better than watching MTV’s “Jackass”.
A very religious friend once said to me… the Devil hides in many forms. Just a wea ironic don’t you think. Pat owes humanity an appology.
I hope that Haiti will be able to recover from this. Sometimes we dont like the way that change is initiated, but often times the result is posetive. Lets hope for everyones sake they can pull out of this as a stonger nation, and that the people can rebuild in a more productive way. I am with Fred on this one, helping by being a good influence versus kicking those that are down. Taking the time and extra effort to teach rather than giving handouts is lacking all over the world, I even find this problem in my own home.
I am shocked right now – from what I can count so far over 40 intellegent people are not being so intelligent. Religion-smasmigion.
These arguements about “God” and how he/she thinks and functions are hilarious. If “God” is all holy and magnificent – why didn’t “God” protect the citizens of Haiti initially?
“They will be in our prayers…” OH WOW, really? That’s freakin’ fantastic (considering how well its been working so far). This is not a logical solution to the crisis the Haitian community is being dragged through. Just because you mumble a few verses (even whole heartedly), homes won’t be magically reconstructed and fresh water and medicine fall from the “heavens”.
Open your wallets if you want to make a difference – your money can save lives. Your prayers… won’t.
P.S. Pat Robertson sucks. When he dies he’ll probably go to…
umm, some cemetery where his body will decompose and the world will continue to turn. Shocking people! I know.
booooooo to you! can you imagine the state the world would be in without God fearing people? Not a place I’d like to live. I dont want to debate religion, but knowing we have to be accountable to God or whatever higher being you choose is what keeps the small amout of peace we have. It would be great if everyone was good just because it was the right thing, but that isn’t the case! Good luck on being alone, I choose to pray for these people as well as send money to help!
K, you got me with the ‘boooooo to you!’ thing. I think I douched my nose with coffee. Now everything smells like Folgers.
Thank you for not debating religion. I did that a couple of times in earlier posts when I first started here, and all it does is insult people and start a pointless argument. There’s just no reason for it on a website like this, as we have plenty of site-relevant things to be pissy about! The original story isn’t about religion, and it looks like we all agree Pat Robertson doesn’t accurately represent Christianity any more than Adam Sandler accurately represents Judaism.
If your belief in God keeps you on the ‘good person’ path, I’m all for it. If praying is important to you, go for it. I meditate. Kinda the same thing. If I’m not mistaken, they’ve done some studies and they have found that someone who prays goes into the same calming state of mind as someone who is meditating, so SOMETHING is going on. Who’s to say what that is?
Aaaanyway…
PAT ROBERTSON SUCKS!
Booo to your mother! This happens to be an open forum so I’m going to chose to openly debate what is relate to the feautured article. (As for the nose douche- this probably makes you a prophet – spread the word).
That makes perfect sense that you are “god fearing” yeah, let’s behave ourselves so an invisible man doesn’t strike us down. When the bible was written, adults had the intelligence of the 8 year olds we have today. Nice so see some of us have evolved with our bodies. Its great to believe in some higher power but every time I open my eyes Christianity is being jammed down my throat. Then I gag it right back up.
I live by this rule: I don’t pinch people because I don’t like to be pinched.
You just pinched a bunch of people.
By the way, I like taquitos. Do you like taquitos? You seem like a taquito-eating person. I also like fondu, but not with my taquitos. Doesn’t seem like it would work too well.
If you think we’ve advanced so far, stop acting like an 8 year-old and actually debate.
Present a position, defend that position by providing some facts, and await a response. If responding, make reasonable concessions for facts, refute specific points with support and then pose new positions, points or relevant data. Paul, a verbose contributor to the New Testement, I often find myself in disagreement with, was capable of this feat with his mere “8-year-old” understanding, I hope you can grasp these simple concepts as you move forward.
As a specific position, I believe in God, but not from a traditional view.
I pose two possibilities:
1. Either there was a God who created everything or
2. Given the current advancement of Moore’s law, there will eventually be processing power for someone or something to be God. Given relative understanding of dimensional particles across “d,” a being that is five dimensional or greater should be outside of our concept of time and capable of awareness that includes everything within 3 dimensions as a single point of data. If Moore’s law allows for a God to observe and manipulate time and space from a 5th and or greater dimension, then God will have always existed as soon as he/she exists.
Your position of atheism, defies the belief that human ingenuity can achieve more than our current limitations while it defies religious observation as merely flawed by a lack of understanding. I propose to you that if we made a box, left it empty save instructions describing God, and addressed it to a dimension above our current dimension that if the box were returned, God could be in the box.
Becky’s right, you just pinched a whole lot of people without cause. And as much as you might want to start a pissing contest about religion, I doubt you’ll get many takers. We’re a pretty tolerant lot here and believe strongly in the principle of “Live and Let Live” when it come to things like religion and politics. When I wrote my article I specifically stated that wasn’t going to bash Christians for just that reason – I didn’t want people to feel threatened in any way by what I had to say about one man’s stupidity.
all i can say is with as much bullshit as we have here in the states, compared to haiti.weve got it made,we are spoiled brats compared to them.
Pat Robertson’s probably never eaten a taquito in his entire miserable life. Taquitos are too good for haters. And if he has profaned taquitos with his nomming, I seriously doubt he’s eaten fondu! Fondu is just to awesome for a dirtbag like Pat Robertson. I refuse to let him taint my Fondu.
Incidentally, there’s an awesome crepe and fondu place in Huntington Beach, CA, called ROCKIN’ CREPES. It’s a Heavy Metal-themed crepe place where they make crepes and fondu that even God himself couldn’t resist. I highly recommend the “Quiet Riot” crepe.
You know what else everybody likes? Parfaits. Have you ever met a person, you say, “Let’s get some parfait,” they say, “Hell no, I don’t like no parfait”? Parfaits are delicious
Parfait’s gotta be the tastiest thing on the whole damn planet.
–A far more entertaining Jackass than me
Nah, gyros are the best. Who can resist the gyro meat with tzatiziki sauce with tomatoes and onions. So delicious.
Jason, I love me some Donkey!!! I am like an onion…..
Good Lord! I have been Slim Fast dieting for 3 months, and you are bringing back wonderful memories of deliciousness. My mouth is… watering…must…resist…
@USS Yorktown I am on my knees! We got a place right up the road from my apartment. Best in the area. I get mine with a few fries on top of the meat. An ice cold brew! HEAVEN ON EARTH!
How do you live with that concept? No really, I want to know. I’m not knocking anyone’s religion, nor am I going to debate the subject (please don’t get me started this will carry on forever). All I am saying is that I would hate to think that there is nothing better than this. Or worse for those who deserve it. The only thought that gets me through all of the people that I loved that died in 2009 is the thought that I will be with them again one day. And reading this website, the only thing that brings me any salvation (and sleep), is the thought that one day, most of these people will rot in hell where they belong. I would hate to have to live with the thought that we just go in the ground and that’s the end of it.
Some people believe Earth is really the afterlife itself. Wouldn’t THAT suck!!! WHEW!
That would totally suck!
If that is the case, I must have been pretty bad in life.
… BAHAHAH! I just saw this. Hehe. Yeah, me too but it must’ve been really FUN!
Now I know why I keep ending up with the short end of the stick….crap there is nothing better after this :(
I must have done some really bad things if this is my afterlife….sigh…I wonder if I can go try again….brb…lol
I constantly battle with my own spirituality. What’s real and what isn’t, the fine line between God and science, etc. And I’m sorry, but the concept of there being nothing, or having to come back to earth is both terrifying and heartbreaking.
And guess what ladies? if this is the afterlife, we ALL must have fucked up!!! lol
By the way, I just want to add that Pat Robertson is an asshole, I believe that he’s in deep shit the day he actually meets god. God doesn’t overlook things like this, he will get his sooner or later. And I love Jon Stewart–that was genius!
Oh, and one final thought, the picture up there of that guy holding his (I am guessing deceased) baby–just heartbreaking. :*(
Ok I’m done now….seriously.
Now Pat Robertson, the vicious waste of skin that he is, has confirmed he said what he meant, and he meant what he said, and he’s going to stick by it.
Where’s a case of spontaneous human combustion when you need one?
ROFL! I meant Limbaugh, not Robertson… not that there’s much difference.
I used to go to a ceramics class with my sister when I was a teen. There was a really ugly ceramic of a big stupid stump with a bee on it that none of us would touch. It was just trashy, useless and ugly and the bee looked retarded. I mean literally, not figuratively. It looked like something a virgin spinster would pose her Beenie Baby collection around.
The little old lady who owned the place tried for two years to sell that damn stump to someone, anyone, and finally they broke the mold because all it was doing was taking up space.
SO why the FUCK are there both a Robertson and a Limbaugh on the planet at the same time? Even an old woman in a ceramics shop had more sense than that!!!
Since were all talking about food (well I hope we are..lol) I’m gonna say nothing beats a steak sanga for me :)
The asshat has been dealt with on a national level (and quite beautifully) by Jon Stewart.
http://www.newser.com/story/78331/jon-stewart-to-pat-robertson-shut-your-piehole.html
Kudos to you Jon Stewart!
Fucking brilliant Tito – I’ve added the video to the story, along with a few words of thanks to you. This was the perfect video considering some of the comments that were left in this thread today.
As usual, you always come through for me.
Not a problem, Max old buddy old pal. Just an FYI, I may or may not be heading to Haiti to help with this tradgedy. I’ll pass along word of the state of things if I do work my way out there.
Thank you for sharing, that was fantastic!!
UPDATE: Added Video from The Daily Show containing Jon Stewart’s reaction to Pat Robertson, Rush Limbaugh, and a terribly biased MSNBC report on US relief to Haiti.
Now hold on a second… didn’t “GOD” wipe out the Earth’s entire population with the great flood (sans the pairs of animals, of course) and kill babies in Egypt?
I’m not saying this douche is right, but “GOD” isn’t the nicest guy ever. Douche Bag does have a point, I’ll leave it at that.
so this guy is like a reincarnated noah?? or just a prophet?
You never know. There is a whole book about God talking to people and calling upon them to do his bidding…and most people accept it as truth. Who is to say God isn’t talking to this guy?
If there is a God and he’s actually talking to Pat Robertson telling him to declare God’s hatred of this or that group and to spew vicious bile after horrible natural disasters, I’m really proud I’m not a follower of that book or that God.
If there is a deity speaking to Pat Robertson or any of his kind, it’s most likely that other guy…
Mmmmm…. sushi…. What? I’m a California native. It’s our traditional tribal food.
Max, the photo of that man holding an infant child and crying is one of the most heart-wrenching I’ve ever seen. I can’t stop looking at it. It’s got to be right up there with that photo of a starving child being stalked by a buzzard. I know you’ve seen it. I believe the photographer who took it committed suicide not long after.
How could anyone look at what is going on and not feel an overwhelming desire to travel there and help? More so, how could anyone who claims to be a man of God feel this way about another man? How could that woman who’s sitting with Crap Robertson stand to breathe his air? I don’t care how much of a sycophant she probably is! You don’t sit next to a person who is spewing bloody bile, lick it up and go ‘Mmmmmm’!
I want to grab that man and that child and cradle them in my lap and tell them everything will be o.k. and protect them the way I do every victim I read about on this site. It’s not a religious thing, it’s a matter of basic humanity. How could anyone feel otherwise?
Sinceeveryone isso üpissed about Roberts as I can understand how about this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2ft5JkNWJA&feature=player_embedded
Wonder if you can be just as pissed?
Danny Glover is an idiot, who is washed up. Don’t get me started with Global Warming.
Danny Glover needs to shut his mouth and open his wallet.
Fred Phelps and his children were also friends with Al Gore.
I hate to have to correct you USS Yorktown, usually you are spot on, but Fred Phelps doesn’t have children. I have heard them joyfully spewing the same hate as Freddy. They are ’spawns’ not ‘children.’ The Devil has ’spawns.’
Yeah, you’re right. They are not children. They are spawns. What was I thinking?
D’OH! (Homer’s voice)
First of all, I doubt many people look to Danny Glover for spiritual guidance. Secondly, what he said was ignorant and ridiculous, but it wasn’t mean spirited. So while I roll my eyes at his comment and wish he would shut up (since he clearly has no clue what he’s talking about) it doesn’t offend me the way that telling suffering people that God just hates them does.
all I have to say to Pat Robertson is “Judge not, lest ye be judged, and judgment shall not be passed by that of lower authority, but from God himself.”
Wow- this post just reminds me AGAIN of why I love this site! Your blunt honesty on your opinions is something to be envied. Thank you for saying the things others think but are too “politically correct” to say:)
I thought this was interesting on one of the many reasons why Haiti might be so poor:
URL Removed By Editor
Oh no, we’re not going there. This is not a political forum – there are plenty of other places to argue the reason’s why Haiti is such a poor country. This thread is supposed to be about Pat Robertson’s ridiculous statement and his inclination to blame natural disasters on the victims. I can not and will not allow it to descend into a political pissing contest.

Of all the stupid, absurd things to say! My favorite moment is “true story!” Like he was there or something. What a maroon!
On one hand I am absolutely horrified by what Pat said; on the other hand, I am laughing my ass off at the absolute absurdity! True story!
He might have been–after all, hellspawns are supposed to be immortal until the Final Judgment, right?
And just to be absolutely clear, I’m saying that Pat Robertson must have been hanging with Satan if he’s going to claim that the pact with the devil is a “true story.”
If they did make a deal with the devil, though, wouldn’t they have had a period of prosperity? Other than being freed from slavery, Haiti’s never had anything resembling prosperity.
From what I understand… God has no wrath.. God has no control over the world as is. God sits back on his massive throne watching Satan having a field day with his little humans.
Last time I checked… 80% of Haiti is Catholic.
It’s dumbasses like this that make it really hard to be a Christian. I’m one, I’ve never been ashamed to stand up and say it. But I WILL be the first one to stand up and say that God tells us Judge not…
I’ve always been the first to reach out and make friends with someone who is gay, lesbian, weird, emo… My friend’s lists have many people of many races, religions, and sexual pref.
Jesus tells us to love our neighbors, not cast judgement on them. Will Mr. Robertson go to hell? I don’t think so, but he WILL be judged by the one true judge, the very same way that all of us will at some point. He too will have to answer too these remarks, I just wish I could see his pride take the fall it will that day.
He doesn’t know the truth. And I’ve disliked the man ever since I was 8 years old and explained on his 700 club how telling kids about Santa was a sin. It’s lying too them forcing them to grow up thinking that lying (and by cast off other sinning) is alright. The man isn’t worth the cheap paper his notes are written on!
Not that any intelligent person has ever taken Pat Robertson very seriously in the hollow duo of his condescending mannerism and cheap gospel talk; his Haiti comment just sealed everything!
How sad that no elementary school will enroll him for the opportunity he badly needs to start learning all over again because with his age and all those years of self-deception, too much damage has been done to the template he needs to truly learn.
I hope no one dignifies his comment as racist – because, at least racism has some thinking element – around its protectionist agenda in a world of economic competition. No, his comment is just stupid – from a very sick mind! Shame on you, Pat Robertson!
This guy is no different than the freaks at Westboro Baptist Church. But people like and respect him for some reason.
Pat Robertson has the 700 Club, while Jeremiah Wright had Trinity United Church of Christ, which is a megachurch.
I am glad you included this clown in pysih. Now go for Rev Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. These phony pastors don’t represent Christianity.
I agree that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson should be included. I have lobbied for Fred Phelps to be here.
Yes, I left him out and Shirley too. Fred looks like a character out of a horror movie. A creepy homicidal old man with a chainsaw. *shudders*
Phelps is a monster, but I can’t bring myself to feel anything but pity for his children and grandchildren. I read “Addicted to Hate” not to long ago, which is a biography of sorts outlining what Fred Phelps put his wife and children through. Four of his kids, now adults, are estranged from him, and two of them have gone public about the abuse they suffered. All of the claims have been verified through court documents and multiple witness. Between the beatings, isolation, brainwashing, child labour and verbal abuse they endured at the hands of their father — who is a sociopath and sadist in both the casual and clinical sense of the terms — it’s not surprising that they’ve turned out like this.
To give you an idea of what this man is really like: When his eldest son took an interest in a girl, Fred decided he didn’t like her and proceeded to verbally abuse her to the point where she lost all confidence in herself. One, after she suffered an epileptic seizure, she came to to discover him calling her a whore and laughing at her. He later forced his son to break up with her even though it was clear they were in love, and months later, when the family learned that the girl had died, Phelps ran up and down the stairs celebrating & cheering, while his son — the one who was in love with her — watched. I can’t remember exactly what it was he was quoting as saying, but it was something to the effect of “The whore is dead!” Nice guy, huh?
You can find the bio online by searching for “Addicted to Hate” on google. Prior to reading it, I hated Shirley and the lot as much as I hate him, but now I just feel sorry for them. They’ve been brainwashed, abused and controlled to the point where they don’t know how to live any other lifestyle. Fred, on the other hand, was never abused of mistreated. He’s merely a sociopath who enjoys hurting people.
I remember reading that. Shirley got pregnant out of wedlock. I can imagine she was beaten severely for it. I know a girl who’s grandfather punched her in the stomach while she was pregnant and caused her to miscarry. I am surprise Fred didn’t do the same thing, then have Shirley pretend to be a virgin bride later on.
The girl that Fred Phelps’s son Fred Phelps Jr., was name Debbie Valgos. Fred Phelps was really happy that she died. She attempted suicide multiple times.
Shirley Phelps-Roper did have an illegitimate son, Samuel Phelps-Roper and he too is a member. I have read that Jonathan Phelps too had a child out of wedlock. I have heard that other members of Westboro Baptist Church are having affair with other members.
Quite frankly, I would not be at all surprised if Fred Phelps himself has illegitimate children. In fact I think he does. The reason is he constantly rails against adultery, as much as he does towards homosexuality.
Debbie Valgos

I think Lori Drew, the MySpace Mom is probably Fred Phelps’s illegitimate child. She was covered heavily here at PYSIH.
Photos of Lori Drew

I see some resemblance between Lori Drew and Fred Phelps. Both are clear cut psychopaths mixed with persecution complex, inferiority complex, and self hate. Yes, there are differences, between the two. Phelps is more of a delusional megalomaniac, while Drew is more likely to pent up her rage.
So, I am a little confused. If the Haitians made a pact with the devil, wouldn’t they have been living in complete luxury until the day of their destruction? I thought the whole idea of a pact with the devil is to get your hearts desire until payback time? But, I am no expert.
It’s terrible that this guy claims that natural disasters are God’s punishment for Homosexuality…..When everybody knows it’s Aids
LoL – Oh that’s old news stormy. They started to pull away from that when certain closeted ministers started getting it too. Since there could never, ever be such a thing as a gay Christian minister, it must have meant straight people could get the virus too. After that, AIDS became the scourge of the promiscuous and poor black Africans. Now there’s two demographics that phony Christians like Pat Robertson and the rest of the televangelist crowd couldn’t have less interest in.
this account of the history of the aids epidemic has very little to do with what actually happened. it’s just another one of my disastrous attempts at humor.
-max
Yeah that was a joke I’m not homophobic at all ;)
I’m not gay either…….But I have a feeling the guy sucking my dick might be
LOL, you are a bad boy Stormy, but I like that!
Oh good lord…are you still here?
It’s OK Janey – I’ve decided to let stormy post here again. He’s always been a valuable member of the group, and his humor, though a bit different, really cracks me up. The bottom line is I believe he has a good heart, and I’m chalking up what happened a few months ago to misunderstandings on both sides.
I’ve never met a troll with a good heart, but I kinda get the same feeling.
Welcome Back, Stormy. DON’T BE A DICK! ;)
No probs Max, I’ll behave….lol…unlessss….lol
janey don’t be real good cause you are too damn funny whenn you are being bad!!!
I’m a good girl now……..HAHAHHAHAHA……..If only I could say that with a straight face people may believe me………lol, altho I thought stormy was dickwad/troll/asshat/ whatever, I’m adult enough to see how it pans out….lol
Really? I thought ‘tolerating ignorant jerks’ was God’s homophobic reaction to gays, seeing as how gays have been here ever since some other guy noticed how attractive God made Adam. Ignorant jerks have always been around too, because God has a devilish sense of humor. “God IS Love”, but that doesn’t mean “God ISN’T Hysterical”, or so I have gleaned from the Bible. That Sodom and Gomorrah thing and the way Lot and his daughters repopulated after… WHEW that’s some funny shit! There must be some other point I missed, but hey, I lol’d. The Judeo/Christian God is a progressive dude. Kinda.
The AIDS thing is MAN’S homophobic reaction to gays, or so I have read on all of the finer conspiracy theory websites. Are you implying the Al Gore’s intertrons have lied to me???
The reason for AIDS is the very same reason God doesn’t step in and prevented things like this earthquake, Katrinia and 911. Free will. It’s the gift and curse that he gave Adam and Eve. God would rather us CHOOSE to worship him rather then forced to. We all have it, we all act on it. Too bad that the devil has it too.
AIDS is God stepping back and saying.. “Okay.. Fuck with the little monkeys.. It’s none of my business…” (Not quiet sure God would use the word fuck, oh well.. I did.) Everything else that resulted from the little monkey experiments were all results of free will. A gay man just HAPPENED to be infected while expressing his free will to mess around with little monkeys, which he transmitted to his partner, who obviously wasn’t very faithful. (Both acts of free will.) And it spread around, why? Acts of free will.
AIDS/HIV isn’t a result of any kind of curse, it was a result of a bunch of idiots, way too smart for their own good, doing experiments on animals. This isn’t a point for Christianity, it’s a point in favor of PETA.
AL GORE’S INTERTRONS IS A LIAR!
Yes he is. He intentionally lies in order to get more money for his carbon credit scams and his investments in his “green tech” bullshit.
I couldn’t have said it any plainer myself Mulch. I always wondered why he never ran for president the 2nd time, after coming so close the first. He found a better, faster way to get rich, and everybody loves him for it – what an incredible con.
I don’t know where this is all headed, but AIDS is a syndrome caused by various strains of a Virus we named HIV. HIV is an adaptation of a truly ancient virus that has crossed species to get to us and ravage our genome. It’s a nasty bug to be sure, but fundamentally it’s not God’s way of dealing with homosexuality, teaching us a lesson about drug abuse or any other moral ambiguity. It’s something for our species to overcome and find a resistance for, or die and let something else try. Either the disease is adapted to, defeated or it will defeat us. That’s what it’s there for. Free will, and free choice are things we learned. They make us special, but we’re learning it does not make us unique.
Blaming God for viruses is kinda lame in all of this. Viruses exist, as best as we can tell, because they’re a vital part of the way DNA changed. They’re an adaptation to keep DNA from becoming static.
It all stemmed from my tongue-in-cheek response to Stormy, who appears to be able to start shit without even trying if this is any evidence of his powers. Gabby took my post seriously and it spiraled down from there.
DAMN YOU STORMY!!! Lol!
After? I donated €50 this weekend in my daughter’s name. Wasn’t intending to but I thought I should atleast try to do something. It’s to a group here in Germany that specializes in looking for and finding trapped people.
Anyway what happens to Hati after all is said and done? What happens when all the money is spent, the VIP’s done smiling for the camera, when all the arguments are done. What happens when the houses are built and the store filled with products. What happens then? Does life go on?
Here in Germany the press is saying it’s worse than the tsunami from 2005. Now I’m not going there. It’s bad I know. It was bad back then also. So no comments from me on that.
I just want to know what happens to the people after this “crisis” is done?
I watched a docu last night about DNA munipulated crops. You know wheate that grows in the harshest climates or corn that can grow and produce more than before?
OK well wouldn’t that help these people in the future to become more indipendant? Being able to feed oneself is a great feeling.
If their only problems were the basic human ones – food, water, medical care, shelter, warmth, etc. – it would be easier to help them. They’re getting a lot of aid, but the criminal element is taking advantage and even preventing it from reaching those in need. A lot of people are wondering what will be done with all the money that is being poured into the country from across the glove. Their government is horribly corrupt.
Well then the people need to take matters in to thier own hands. Kinda like what happened in the US about 230 years ago…..
I was in Somalia in late 92 watching about the same thing happen. Food trucks going out with blue helmets riding shotgun. about 300 yards outside the gate they get stopped, emptied at gun point and turned around. After we spent 4 hours loading em! We talked so many time letting us ride shotgun. I was caring a SAW at the time. No probs on the left side for us!
I am sure this is what the US troops are feeling right now. And I know the feeling so well. Helplessness, frustration, rage, disgust. Been there done that and got the CIB for it!
Yes, Pat Robertson deserves hell – but you’re not going far enough here. The folks who listen and prescribe to his bullshit should also be condemned to hell for the grievous sin of willful ignorance. Pat Robertson, the ass munching dick hole that he is, would not have a public forum to espouse this nonsense if there weren’t folks who feed his grandiose sense of ego and line his pocketbook. Willful ignorance is dangerous and irresponsible. The folks who give their money, time and energy to this fucking maniac are just as culpable in allowing this kind of cancerous, hateful bullshit to thrive. Cast the whole lot of them straight to hell.
I agree with the state of Texas!!!!
this Texan agrees 100%!!!
Amen Texas!
A Big hell yeah from me too….:)
Pat Robertson is absolutely vile. His lack of empathy towards other human beings is sickening, and the way he uses these tragedies in order to garner attention is despicable.
If there is a god and he’s anything like the hateful, cruel deity that Pat Robertson believes in, I refuse to worship such a monstrous entity. Robertson appears to have created god in his image.
So…not being American, so can someone answer me why this guy is still walking around?…Or does he only come out in the cover of darkness?….Honestly would love to know if he’s so hated (and yes I dislike him all the way from over here) how the hell is he still ‘around’ so to speak?….
He is a religious whack job. We love them in our country. His bombastick dumbfuckery is the very embodiment of free speech in America. We keep him around to remind ourselves that no matter how stupid we sound sometimes, it’s our right to sound that way and Pat Robertson will sound even more stupid so it’s all good!!!
Honestly, I don’t know why someone hasn’t put a bullet in his gut. Perhaps they couldn’t afford the silver required to make a bullet that could kill him.
Extra ‘k’ in ‘Bombastic”. Damn, and I was saving it for later.
Hi! New to this site and I love it! My Pat Robertson story is one stormy afternoon I was trying to watch “Liza With A Z!” and my cable box kept jumping to “700 Club”. I turned it back and back it went. After about 9 times of this, her special was just about over and a Tornado Watch advisory came on. No tornado showed and my TV and cable box never did that again. Oooh-weee-oooh! Oh, yes, Pat’s a douchebag!
I often wonder, who the hell even watches The 700 Club???
I used to watch it when my remote control was broken and I was too lazy to get up off the sofa and change the channel myself.
…
That was a joke, by the way. In all seriousness, I saw an episode one day several years ago (back in 2001) There was nothing else worth watching, I had some laundry to fold and thought, “Huh. The 700 Club? Wonder what that’s about…” I turned it off halfway through. I find Pat Robertson unnerving. I imagine that if I could reach through the TV and touch him, my hands would be covered with slime. He looks reptilian to me.
I am a Christian. But I do not agree with this man. And he is not god’s spokesperson. He will be judged someday. And his judgement will be harsher. Because God holds leaders to a higher standard.
Pat Robertson:
You are a massive fuck-tard ….
I am a Christian and believe in God and Jesus Christ. I am NOT a nut case though. I don’t feel the need to push my religion down everyones throats and I personally find MOST organized relgions to be nothing more than corporations who hide behind a facade.
Pat Robertson is the epidomy of whats wrong with religion today. Too many nutcases want to use God to spread their hateful, disgusting theories. And because they hide behind God, it is perfectly fine. What people like Pat Robertson don’t realize is that they are JUST AS BAD as the islamic extremists. Maybe Pat should move in with Bin Laden and they can share their virgins in hell?
I repeat, Pat Robertson, you are a fucktard who doesn’t deserve to use my God’s name EVER. You are as evil and scumbuckety as they come… and if MY God is anything like I imagine, he has a wicked sense of humor, and you WILL get yours in the end. :) Toodles…
Well, God spoke to me and I got the feeling that there may be a large heavy object hurdling through the air towards the Rev’s head sometime in the near future. Now, I can’t say what for sure, but I feel like it will be a brick. Or a semi.
Oh my my Pat Robertson. Now there is the crown price of hateful, immoral, hypocritical pigfuckers. This is an individual who claims to be a servant of god yet has no concept of what that actually means. I am viciously pro-life (not for religious reasons, but rather I am a father) and that statements made by this man concerning “god” punsihing us with Katrina for allowing abortion incensed even myself. The problem with Mr. Robertson, and his camp of brainwashed zealots, is they less represent god, than thier own twisted ideas of what god should be in their eyes. These punishments are not god punishment, but Mr. Robertson WOULD LIKE THEM TO BE. He would be o.k. with, even happy with the death, suffering, saddness and loss of tens of thousands of people (some who may even share HIS views) if he were able to spin the tragedy to fit his twisted ideology. He knows his comments will anger and offend, which is why he does it. He knows people will discuss them, the hardcore zealots with impressionable minds will be drawn to him, and the money from those peoples pockets will buy him all the indulgences his sick black heart desires. He is a leech of the most insidious kind. It is not a question of if he deserves hell. He serves hell by his words when he manipulates mass suffering for his own ends. He considers himself a hero, someone willing to speak an uncomfortable truth, and the sad part is he actually convinces people, some of whom are probably very nice, genuine people but are impressionable, that his bullshit is truth. Someday the god he claims to serve, if he exists, will burn this false prophets heart to ash within his chest
Oh yeah and the screen name snuffster has nothing to do with death. I am an avid user and collector of European dry nasal tobacco snuff! Just to clear up any confusion
Shame on you, hypocrite!
Wow.
Starts off with Pat Robertson and closes with snuff… segue card(s) played and trumped ten-fold.
Pat Roberston: Before I even knew this site existed I sent a prayer request via his site asking that HE find Jesus, because FFS, he only left a few rules and Pat can’t even follow them (along with many organized religions). And before you question my cred: I went to a fundamentalist “Christian” school K- 9. They make an English boarding school look like a cake walk, Pink Floyd be damned.
I will assume my prayer request will not be made as it did not have a cash deposit attached.
US Politics: Born, raised, lived (and survived) the Bible Belt and worked many places in between. Nice place to visit, no longer live there. Aside: it took 5 years living in AUS to realize how INSANE it is to see so many ’script drugs advertised during “world” (cough BULLSHIT cough) news. Not bashing, just saying that when I visit home, it sorta looks like drug companies are using US consumers as their bitches via Sally Fields, ad nauseum.
Global warming: It is summer here. Some parts are sweltering in 110 degree (F) heat for five days in a row, others are in snow flurries. I care *not* what is causing it, but Mother Nature appears to be going through “the change” and she is not coping well. Europe is eling with its worst winter in many years. I realize this may be news to ya’ll, as things have been, uhm, interesting in the US lately.
Snuff? I have no response.
Perhaps I should just stick with reading the articles and not check the postings lest I acquire a brain blow-out.
Ta. (aussie, aussie, aussie – oi oi oi, ya’ll and BTW: who dat? who dat? who dat say… well, you know, and also: U of A: National Champs…LOVING it).
Ah- hem. FINALLY, off like a prom dress in June.
I suppose it was only a matter of time before “the Reverend” Pat Robertson’s unfortunate visage was featured here. I have never liked that man. There’s something about his voice that makes my skin crawl and causes me to shudder. And then, consider the words that come out while he’s using his voice! Nothing but pure hatred and intolerance.
It was harder to hear his cruelty regarding the Haitian earthquake, as I have a friend who lost members of her family in this tragedy. Of course, the “good Reverend” (sarcasm) wouldn’t care about that. It doesn’t affect him or his family. He’s a hypocrite. A hateful, bitter, old hypocrite.
I love how he wants to tell us all that this is God’s doing. Like he has a bat phone to Heaven. He has fogotten that Satan exists…..and will be hosting a hot party for many.
I think Pat Robertson needs to be tested for dementia. Back in the 80s, he was a rightie, but he wasn’t this much of a jerk.
I don’t pretend to speak for God, but I have read the Bible a few times, and good ol’ Pat is MISSING THE POINT of Christianity. Rather than pointing fingers and trying to blame old legends for Haiti’s troubles, he should have been encouraging his fans to do all they can to help, whether it be donations of food, clothing, first aid supplies, money, or just prayer.
Celebrities from Vin Diesel to Kelsey Grammer have been doing all they can to help–Vin Diesel went to Haiti himself to help, and Kelsey Grammer is matching all donations that his fans make, and he’s donating money in the name of each fan who signs up for his website. If people like these, people who don’t wear their faith like a flashy jacket can show love to people who have been hurt badly through no fault of their own, much more should be expected of “Christian” televangelists.
Incidentally, does anyone else wonder what Jimmy Swaggart or Jim Bakker think of Pat Robertson’s statements?
And then it’s wondered why so many people can’t believe in god? because of disgusting people like this who twist a good thing into a sick and demented version of self serving truth. i agree! Pat robertson is in fact a racist jack ass who has the audacity to talk about Haiti in any fashion other than humble and hopeful for them. I wish someone would punch him in his head…he has definitely gone over the top in the past but this is just reprehensible…
I believe strongly in God. I read the bible and find strength from it. I pray every day for the saftey of those close to me. I thank God for keeping those same people safe.
Your generalization is weak and lazy. Not all of those who choose to believe and worship are like the very few.
Please before you open your ignorant mouth engage those grey cells between your freaking ears OK?
Farrakhan is among the lowest of the low… he is no “spiritual” leader in any way what-so-ever.
I can agree with that 297%.
LOL_religion
I’m laughing so hard that I just can’t vote… This guy is an absolute fucktard! I think he needs to go to the same high security psychiatric ward my fist-fighting granny is in >:)
