  • UPDATE: Anand Jon Alexander

FASHION DESIGNER CONVICTED IN CALIFORNIA, GETS 59 YEARS TO LIFE IN PRISON
excerpts of an article by Greg Risling – The Huffington Post

August 31st, 2009 – Fashion designer Anand Jon Alexander was sentenced Monday to 59 years to life in prison for sexually assaulting aspiring models he lured to Los Angeles.

Alexander, 35, showed no reaction as Superior Court Judge David Wesley said Alexander should be incarcerated as long as possible for preying upon young girls and women. Alexander was convicted in November of 14 counts including forcible rape. He was found not guilty of four felonies, and jurors could not reach a verdict on three counts.

“Mr. Alexander has showed no remorse for his actions,” the judge said.

The sentencing capped a tumultuous, exhausting post-verdict saga that included allegations of juror tampering by his sister, Sanjana, juror misconduct and Alexander’s decision to represent himself. Alexander also lost a bid for a new trial earlier Monday, claiming there was a conspiracy among law enforcement to convict him.

The most striking image came as a bevy of beautiful women who said Alexander sexually assaulted them filled a jury box. The 13 women cried as Wesley recounted some of the crimes and they held hands as the sentence was read. One had mascara running down her face; another shook her head in disgust at Alexander.

Three of the women spoke, each telling a packed courtroom how Alexander had robbed them of their innocence and their formative years.

“I was 14. You took my adolescence, my trust, my dream and completely manipulated them for your sexual desires,” said one of the women. The Associated Press, as a matter of policy, does not identify victims of alleged sexual abuse.

“It sickens me that a grown man can do such a thing to a girl,” the now 17-year-old girl said. “A girl who was naive and had the belief that all people were good. And you took that to your advantage.”

Prosecutors said Alexander often found women online, baited them with promises of glamorous photo shoots and other modeling work, only to fondle or rape them at his Beverly Hills apartment.

In other news, New York prosecutors dropped sexual assault charges relating to three of the twelve victims of Anand Jon Alexander. The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office declined to say why prosecutors trimmed three women from the list. On Wednesday, October 13th, 2010, a judge officially dismissed the charges related to those women.

Proceedings against Anand Jon Alexander will continue for the remaining alleged casting couch assaults, including forcible rape, on nine other accusers, many of them young fashion models. Alexander has pleaded not guilty.

The District Attorney also filed a motion asking for the removal of Anand Jon Alexander’s two court appointed attorneys, claiming that Alexander still has plenty of his own assets with which he can pay for a lawyer.

After New York prosecutors are finished with him, Alexander faces still more sexual assault related charges in Texas.

Sanjana Jon, Anand Jon Alexander’s sister, has stood by her brother since the beginning of his “ordeal” in 2007, but since his conviction has resorted to playing the “race card” ad nauseaum, claiming that all Americans are prejudiced against people from India, and that Alexander was framed. It’s quite infuriating to listen to this women irresponsibly flap her gums as if she knows what she’s talking about. I’ve included a video of her being interviewed by Indian Television so you can see a real example of her in action.

Anand Jon Alexander was fortunate enough to have a jury in his California trial that took his job very seriously. The looked at all the evidence for the charges related to each of the 23 victims. There were so conscientious, in fact, that they acquitted Alexander on counts related to seven of those women. Conspiracies aren’t usually that fair or that much effort.

Someone needs to tell that pain in the ass Sanjana Jon that the reason her brother in going to spend the rest of his life in prison isn’t because we hate people from India. Anand Jon Alexander caught a 59 to life bid because he lured innocent women to his home, using their dreams of becoming fashion models, along with his superior size and strength, to force them to have sex with him. Even girls as young as 14 weren’t safe from this animal. Despicable behavior like this has been demonized by every race, color and creed since man became civilized.

Well, except for colonial Spaniards raping Native American women, American slave owners raping their slaves, Greek men raping boys, English lords exercising prima noctis (sex with a bride on the first night of her marriage), and indeed countless examples of state-sponsored, legal or simply purposely overlooked rape (including that of the very young) going all the way back to the early days of Western civilization.

Therefore, qualifying the above statement with “since man became civilized” is patently false. Even so, in recent centuries it has indeed been demonized, and rightly so.

So much energy for an argument about semantics.

Enjoy the post, and ‘listen’ to what you know he means, comment about the post, not the misuse of a word in the post.
I’m such a grammar & word nerd myself, but I’ve been so much more relaxed since I let go. Just some advice from someone who’s been there.

On topic: Pedos so often find the exact job that puts them in the most contact with the age and type they prefer. Gross.

Truer words were never spoken. Plenty of women remember being hit on by adult men when they were between the ages of 12 and 14. God knows I was. It took growing older to realize what utter perverts these men were. Christ, I looked like I was ten years old, but there was never a shortage of pervs wanting me to sit on their lap or give them a feel of mostly non-existent tit.

          • libby says:

Me too, dear, me too. As a little girl, all the kids just learned through experience and each other which old men to avoid in the neighborhood.
Everyone also used to know through the grapevine which teachers to avoid in school. Surprise surprise that so many teachers are caught sexing up students. The predators set themselves up with the exact age they’re looking for.

      • Max The Cat says:

Vainglorious, you’re not serious, are you? The way you are oversimplifying things is almost criminal. Of course those things are despicable and evil. You aren’t seriously suggesting that truly good, decent people condoned this sort of crap, are you? For example – Abolitionists were in a constant battle with slave owners over slavery – For god’s sake man, hundreds of thousands of Union Soldiers lost their lives putting an end to slavery and saving The Union after those slave owner tried to form their own country in order to protect their right to own human beings.

For most of the examples you presented, I can show you a group of honorable people who tried to stop these things, or prevent it from happening any more.. The things you bring up were done by evil folks who were the exception, not the rule.

I stand by my statement, and I believe it’s your argument that is patently false. In fact, it’s so utterly ridiculous that I’m surprised you were the one who offered it up. I’ve learned to expect better from you. I resent that you chose this opportunity to climb on your soapbox. This is an important story that hasn’t received a lot of coverage here in the states – In spite of the fact that he committed every one of his crimes in the United States. Alexander is a serial rapist who’d charges don’t begin to tell the story of how many women he raped, sexually assaulted and molested.

        • Vainglorious says:

You’re entitled to your opinion, but I can assure you that history — including (and even especially) American history — is not as rosy as many believe. It’s a subject that tends to be incredibly whitewashed in our society and in our schooling system, and considering your devotion to ferreting out the truth of unsavory matters, I in turn am surprised that you toe the line when it comes to historical events. I could say I expected better from you.

Just as an example, Christopher Columbus is a celebrated maritime navigator and American hero. We even have a holiday devoted to him. However, he wasn’t by any means the first person to discover the Americas — and when he arrived, he set about stealing from and enslaving the Native American population.

Another example is Woodrow Wilson. He’s a celebrated American President, yet he was also a white supremacist who re-segregated portions of the Federal government. He also attended Princeton University and served as its president for eight years. At that time, Princeton was one of the few northern universities that refused to allow blacks into their student body.

Similarly, the Civil War was not in any way about freeing slaves, except perhaps as a weapon against the South. Don’t even attempt to take a disdainful tone with me if you’re touting that boilerplate nonsense.

Yes, there are always good people in the world, but there were many times throughout history when evils were accepted as the norm and good people were very much the minority voice. The same is true of some incidents of state-sponsored (or otherwise tolerated) rape throughout history.

          • Max The Cat says:

God, what are you, some fucking reject from the 60′s or something. Let me tell you something, dickhead, I’ve forgotten more about the Civil War than you will ever know. I’m sure you’re hanging your hat on Lincoln’s statement about If he could save the Union without freeing one slave, he would do that. If he could save it by freeing some of the slaves, he would do that, and if he could save the Union by freeing all slaves, he would do that too. People like you always take that statement out of context – He was speaking of his position as president of the US, not about his personal feelings towards slavery. He was a hard core anti slavery all of his life, but toned it way down as president because he knew as President he had to try and bring the Confederacy back into the fold.

Annd we could talk about how the Emancipation Proclamation was issued to prevent England and France from coming into the war on the side of the Confederacy, but that only became important because the poor generalship in the Union Army had led to victory after victory for the South. Hooker should have crushed Lee at Chancellorsville, but he lost his nerve. Burnside was totally incompetent, and killed thousands of hid men assaulting an impregnable position at Fredericksburg. And George McClellan was either a coward or a traitor – he could have ended the war at Antietam Creek in 1862, but he let Lee get away with the remnants of his army, and the war dragged on for 4 more years.

Eventually, Lincoln planned to free all slaves, or let them return to Africa if they wished. He approached some Black leaders of the time and discussed finding a colony where emancipated Blacks could be relocated, free to build a country of their own, but that idea was rejected.

The mistake dumbasses like you make is trying to force 21st century values on 19th century people. Lincoln was amazingly enlightened for the day he lived in. He genuinely cared about EVERYONE, black or white. The saddest thing I know is that he was assassinated before he was able to enact his plan for a post-war United States.

So do you really want to dance this dance with me?

I’ll give you a chance to reply to this message, but you’re done commenting on PYSIH. Your posts are off topic, troll like, and, most importantly, distract from out real mission. The worse part is, you don’t care about it. You just want to be right, and show us how ignorant we all are and how brilliantly enlightened you are. Well this isn’t Berkeley, you’re not Abby Hoffmanm and we’re not the “Establishment”. It’s 2010, not 1968.

However I’m not above hurling a few insults when provoked :)

I love PYSIH, and I don’t get to visit and comment nearly as often as I’d like to but when I do, it’s disappointing to see trolls trying to stir the pot and being blatantly rude just for the sake of being a douchebag.

            So. Anyway.

This guy is the kind of guy I remember ending up with articles in magazines like Sugar and Bliss (here in the UK) that started off about the perils of modelling agencies Charging You Money, and ended up with very severe warnings about guys like this. Luckily I’ve always been too odd looking to worry about anyone trying to exploit me as a model (even a hand model – stupid eczema) but I don’t know if there have been other cases of men exploiting models in such a savage way before? It certainly seems to be something that has been worrying people for a very long time.

            • marlboro says:

Sorry, should have said: “exploiting models – particularly underage ones – in such a savage way before?”

      • Vitoria says:

Oh, please. The author never said those things stopped happening once humankind became civilized. He merely stated that those crimes began to be perceived as unacceptable.

That said, in several countries, rape is still legal, especially when it comes to marital rape. Even in the so-called developed west we see plenty of examples of our rape culture – the whole “she should have known better”, “she was asking for it”, “but she was wearing a miniskirt”, etc. Not only that, but approximately only 6% of rapists will ever spend a day in jail.

why does the article say he was found not guilty and acquitted on 7 of the charges yet he received 59 years? I’m confused…

      • Max The Cat says:

Perhaps I did a poor job of explaining it. He originally was tried on charges related to 23 victims. Of those 23 woman, the jury acquitted him of the charges that were connected to 7 of them, and found him guilty of the other charges, relating to what he did to the remaining 16 women.

It is more than a little bit confusing – I think I’ll look up the court records and see if I can find the specific charge list. If it’s still available that is. That might help.

    3. Maelstrom says:

I’m relieved that this asshole got some serious time. Not even his mullet can save him now. Though it will provide something for the other inmates to grab onto whilst they’re tearing into what I hope is his virginal ass. – A fate he so richly deserves.

      • madamayhem says:

Ok, that was seriously funny. Not only did I LOL, but I SOL’d too (snorted out loud). I am partial to mullet jokes though. Thanks, I needed that after the week I’ve had.

    4. The Bosses Secretary says:

If you can get 23 women to stand up in a court of law and admit that you raped them, and get them to go through a humiliating cross-examination, believe it brother – he’s a rapist.

You must have thought you were invincible, huh? Hope you have fun designing uniforms for the chain gang, shithead.

    5. Maribeth says:

Just watched the rapist’s sister spew her nonsense. Holy shit, I thought my head would explode. Get your head out of the sand, sweetheart. Twelve perfect strangers found him guilty based on the evidence and I’d wager a guess that at least a few of them were people of color. The only thing worse than violent criminals are stupid people. I wish we could pack them all onto an island and let them have at it. Dumb bitch.

      • Maribeth says:

Huh….I phrased that the wrong way. Stupid people aren’t worse than violent criminals, but they’re a close second.

    6. idiots! says:

I watched this unfold in LA. I find it funny how people propagate misinformation like it’s the truth. First, there were not 23 women in LA. And sexual assault charges don’t equal rape. There was a conviction of only ONE rape count in LA. All the rest were misdemeanors, including one for “an attempted kiss”. The jury was a joke. Was not a jury of peers. Some of them slept during the trial. They didn’t care. The judge did nothing about it. There was juror misconduct declared yet the judge didn’t rule a mistrial. It was exposed that there was evidence destroyed by the police. There was misconduct by the prosecution. The whole thing was a ridiculous circus. You should all hope you don’t find yourself accused of something, anything, and have to defend yourself. Good luck to anyone that does. This system really needs a complete overhaul. Just type prosecutorial misconduct in a google search and see what comes out – its ridiculous that these people have so much power. They hold your liberty in their hands, for good or evil, its in their hands.

      • Maelstrom says:

        Well, hello Sanjana….

      • Miwist says:

I’m sure all the women and girls invoved are greatly relieved that they were only sexually assaulted.

It doesn’t take a psychiatrist to realize that Alexander is a sociopath – just by way of the fact that he felt he would be able to defend himself.
I’m sure his ego probably tells him he was innocent, I’m sure his ego is convinced the women wanted him. In his own eyes, I am quite sure he views himself as the victim of a bunch of vindictive women – but I know the truth, and they know the truth. It’s not easy to face your attacker the way they did. Alexander probably used the trial to victimize them all over again.

I’m not so worried about him – he’ll be in prison for awhile.
I’m worried about you, idiots. You’ve proven yourself to be pretty easy to manipulate. You are going to have a pretty shitty life.

      • VCBecky says:

*sigh* it really is the women’s fault anyway. I mean, all of those ‘assaults’ and not ONE of them cut his dick off. What is this world coming to? Of course, that’s a silly question. Consider, we live in a world where someone would voluntarily chose to be called “idiots!” while bitching out posters on a crime blog.

Seems to be you and Anand against the world, darling idiots!. I suggest you get some gauze pads and a helmet to keep with you. And I don’t mean just for now – I mean for always. I’m surprised you have survived this long without getting stabbed to death in a well-lit, public place in the middle of a Sunday afternoon by an otherwise law-abiding person.

If this degenerate punk had tried to put his hands on my girl when they didn’t want him too, it wouldn’t have mattered to me if what he actually did added up to a felony of not, I would have hunted him down and taught him a hard lesson about respecting women.

You don’t get 59 years in prison for a bunch of misdemeanors, unless those misdemeanors are part of a pattern of behavior that forces the court to consider you a danger to society. If you were a woman and you were alone with Anand Jon Alexander, you were IN DANGER.

What are you trying to sell us anyways? Well, yes, he did assault all these women, but most of the assaults weren’t serious ones? Are you serious. Anand Jon Alexander is a serial rapist, and just because he was only charged with what the prosecutors thought they could prove doesn’t make that truth go away.

If one of these women was my daughter, I’d put a bullet in his brain and think nothing of it. And I’d face my consequences like a man, something Anand Jon Alexander has consistently shown he is incapable of doing.

I am a former model(among other things) of Anand, and was present often(for one of the so-called victims was my traveling partner)…he is “INNOCENT”. It happens all too often to great men like Anand in this industry. Anand is amazing– an esoteric if you will, with an aura that’s highly additive.
