Sometimes I’m just overwhelmed by the random acts of kindness of strangers. After we did our piece on Christie Michelle Scott, the Alabama mother who set fire to her six-year-old autistic son’s bedroom in order to collect $175,000 in life insurance, we were contacted by the blog Shoalanda Speaks about a series of article they did on their crime page, Shoals Crime about the Scott case, filling us in on some details that hadn’t been published anywhere. Coincidentally, I had used those same articles as research material while writing my story, and I told them so.

Well, to make a long story short, I received this email Sunday morning from the administrator of Shoalanda Speaks, and I’d like to share it with all of you, especially all the writers and commenters who have helped me to build this site into what it is today:

I realize I’ve been scare for the last week or so, but I had two molars pulled on Saturday dues to infection, and the pain involved in both the procedure and the recovery is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Let’s just say I can describe Jesus for anybody who’d like to know what he looks like.

So for all you folks who have sent in story suggestions, and the couple who have sent in actual articles, I’m not ignoring you. I feel terrible about not being available, because there has been so much interest shown by our readers in site content, and I want very much to encourage that.

Anyways, I’m beginning to feel more like a human being this last day or so, and plan on resuming my normal duties as your editor by this weekend.

Someone put something where it should not have been and made things not work.

I put the thing where it should have been, instead of where it had been put, and things work now.

If they don’t work, you know where to find me.

We’ve also had some changes made that were put into place to speed up the site a bit. Everything should run noticeably faster, but updates might take a bit longer to see.

Server Issues

We’re having some issues with our server. It appears that PYSIH is, once again, too sexy for it’s hardware.

We expect the problem to be resolved soon, because we’re throwing money at the problem.

Every dollar we bring in, through advertising or donations or by you supporting our sponsors, goes to paying the hosting bill and keeping the lights on. Usually it is not enough, but I don’t mind paying a bit out of pocket to keep PYSIH.com up and running.

Well she has a long hard road ahead of her. First off she has to serve 5 years in prison. After which she has to register as a Tier II sex offender. That means for the next 25 years every 6 months she has to register her address with the Sheriff’s department. Additionally, she had to give up custody of her daughter and son.

Anyway, Ms. Tatum’s former home at 2761 Bellwood Ave. Sold for $183,000. I guess that sale and the hard work from her back paid for her trial and her make over.

Ms. Tatum had artfully tried to put the blame on the 14 year old girl she had sex with but ultimately we know where the blame lies. (With the 42 year old coke and wine fiend who preyed on teenagers)

So now Ms. Tatum will be the guest of Ohio Reformatory for Women. This ends the saga of Becky Jo Tatum. At least for now.
