As a nurse who works in an acute care setting, I find myself able to stomach the sort of things that those who choose other career paths might not be able to tolerate.

A lunch break where I work usually involves eating as quickly as we possibly can, and being frequently interrupted to attend to situations that might ruin the average appetite. After cleaning up blood or other bodily substances, I wash my hands and return to our half-eaten meal for a couple more bites. That’s right…while a sick patient is losing their lunch, I am often holding their emesis basin wondering when I will be able to finish my lunch.

But even my well-trained stomach took one hell of a leap when I read that after Sarah Kolb, 16, Cory Gregory, 17, and Nathan Gaudet, 16, dismembered the body of Adrianne Reynolds, they stopped at McDonald’s to enjoy some cheeseburgers before moving on to the dump site that they chose for the head and arms of their victim. A few days later, Cory Gregory lost the battle with his own conscience, and investigators were finally able to inform the Reynolds family that their daughter would not be coming home.

Sixteen-year-old Adrianne Reynolds was much like any other teenage girl. Life was not perfect for her in Longview, Texas, so to improve her situation she moved in with her adopted father and step-mother in East Moline, Illinois.

She was a talented singer, enjoyed performing songs for others, and could move listeners to tears with the sound of her voice. Unfortunately, she did not take a great interest in school, and with no high school credits to her name, she enrolled at Black Hawk College Outreach to obtain her GED.

It was at this alternative high school where she met Sarah Kolb and Cory Gregory in November, 2004. Although they initially hit it off, the friendship quickly turned sour when Sarah Kolb became jealous of the new girl in school who was attracting many of the boys. According Gregory’s testimony, Sarah was bisexual and had been interested in dating Adrianne herself, which only contributed to her jealously.

After a heated argument in December, Adrianne tried desperately to repair their friendship, while Sarah had a different sort of resolution in mind. She told several classmates and even wrote in her journal of her intentions to kill Adrianne.

On January 21, 2005, when Sarah and Cory invited her to lunch to discuss the friendship, Adrianne accepted and got into the car with them. The classmates drove to a nearby Taco Bell parking lot where drama between the two girls erupted in broad daylight during the busy lunch hour.

What exactly happened in the car is unclear, because after their arrests Cory and Sarah did exactly what anyone would expect-they pointed fingers at each other. Witnesses at Taco Bell that day were unable to shed much light on the situation because the winter air outside caused the car windows to fog up, thus preventing a clear view of the inside of the car.

Yes, that is correct, there were witnesses who saw that something was happening in the car, but quickly shrugged it off as being nothing more than teenagers goofing around. Prosecutors believe the story that the two allegedly shared with Nathan Gaudet; that Cory held Adrianne’s arms while Sarah beat her with a wooden handle and strangled her with a belt.

Cory Gregory: “They just started swinging at each other and then Adrianne hits Sarah in the nose. Sara’s nose started bleeding. So Sarah grabbed this wooden stick that she keeps in her car for def — protection, she says, and started to hit her a couple times with it and they kept fighting and wrestling and it moved to the back seat.

Sarah’s on top of Adrianne and she choking Adrianne and then Adrianne goes out and Sarah gets off her and sits in the car – sits back in the front seat. We sit there and smoke a cigarette for awhile.”

Regardless of what actually occurred in that car, these two teenagers were responsible for the beating and strangling death of Adrianne Reynolds, and they went on to prove this when they tried to dispose of the body. The duo drove to another location, put Adrianne’s body in the trunk of the car, and headed out to a farm owned by Sarah’s grandparents.

Cory Gregory: “We pour the gasoline on her and light her on fire.”

Rob Stafford, Dateline correspondent: “Who poured the gas?”

Cory Gregory: “I poured the gasoline on the tarp.”

Stafford: “Who lit the match?”

Cory Gregory: “It was a butane lighter. I used the lighter and lit it and then Sarah and I we just stood away and Sarah laid her head on my shoulder. She just started crying, you know, so I tried to sit there and comfort her.”

While the Reynold’s family was notifying police that their daughter had not shown up to work at Checker’s restaurant and that they believed she was missing, Cory and Sarah were trying to figure out what to do next with Adrianne, because she didn’t turn to ash as they expected she would:

Cory Gregory: “Sarah decides we need to get the body off the land and says, ‘We gotta cut the body up.’ Sarah’s trying to talk me into doing it. I’m like, ‘No, you know, I can’t do that, you know.’ Lighting a fire’s one thing, but I can’t cut up a body. It ain’t right.”

Stafford: “None of this is right, Cory.”

Cory Gregory: “I know, I know, none of this is right, but I told her, ‘I can’t do this, you know. I won’t do it.’

Cory Gregory: “(Nathan Gaudet’s) into blood and gore. He was the type of kid that’d go around killing animals and stuff, so Sarah figured he might help.”

The following day, Cory and Sarah enlisted their friend Nathan Gaudet to help them dispose of the body. Nathan, who they knew had a fascination with blood, gore, and killing animals, accompanied the other two teens to the farm with his grandfather’s handsaw, where he proceeded to dismember Adrianne. They dumped the torso and legs in a nearby ravine, and after grabbing a bite to eat, they drove to Black Hawk Historic Site where they buried the rest of her several feet below a manhole cover.

A few days later, Cory broke down and confessed to his parents and then to the police, telling his version of what happened to Adrianne:

Bert Gregory, Cory Gregory’s father: “He started crying. And I started asking him questions, and he started breaking down. He started crying more. So I knew something was up.”

“I just couldn’t even say anything. I just cried and hugged him. And he says, ‘Mom, I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry.’ At that point my heart was so broken, I didn’t even have words.”

“I said, ‘Did something happen to her in that car?’ And he started shaking his head, yes. He couldn’t talk.”

“I said, ‘Did she get hurt in the car?’ Shook his head yes. I said, ‘Did she get hurt bad? He said really, really a lot.’ I said, ‘Is she dead?’ He shook his head yes. I said, ‘Well where’ she at?’ He just couldn’t – he couldn’t talk.”

Shortly after, Nathan’s grandmother notified police of her grandson’s possible involvement after finding the bloody handsaw.

Cory Gregory claimed that his participation in the crime was only to help the girl he was in love with, Sarah Kolb, because he did not want her to go to jail. Fortunately, despite Cory’s original efforts, Sarah was tried as an adult. Unfortunately, on Wednesday, November 16th, 2005, Kolb’s first trial ended in a mistrial, after the jury failed to agree on a verdict.

Testimony began for Sarah Kolb’s retrial began on February 8th, 2006, and three weeks later she was found guilty of two counts of first degree murder and one count of concealing a homicide, and sentenced to 53 years behind bars.

Cory Gregory pled guilty to the same crimes in May of 2005 and will be serving a fabulous 45 years for his supposed minimal participation. On, December 17th, 2009, his latest appeal was denied by the 3rd District Appellate Court Of Illinois. Part of his complaint was that he should have gotten a lesser sentence because he was the one who lead authorities to Adrienne’s remains buried in Blackhawk State Park in Rock Island.

Seriously folks, Gregory’s appeal actually whined about that very thing (or words to that effect). The year before, when Cory Gregory’s appeal was heard before the Circuit Court, the judge called it a case of buyer’s remorse, referring to Gregory’s demand to withdraw his guilty plea and be given a new trial.

Unfortunately, the justice system failed Adrianne during the sentencing phase for Nathan. Plea bargaining and his age at the time of the crime earned him a puny sentence of five years in juvenile detention. Yes, that is correct – after doing the math in your head you have probably concluded the horrifying truth. Nathan Gaudet has already been released and is living freely among the rest of us. Shall we begin the betting on when we see his name involved in a crime again?

Let me take you back to the beginning of this incomprehensibly awful story. Neil Wilson, a relatively attractive school teacher from Cape Town, was dating a pretty young woman named Natasha Norton. Their relationship seemed to be alright, not the stuff of everlasting love, perhaps, but no serious issues abounding.

That is, until Natasha discovered that she was pregnant and found herself suddenly single. But life, as it will, goes on. Neil found himself a newer, less pregnant girlfriend named Dina Rodrigues. (There were reportedly a few other “incidentals” that flitted through his bedsheets but Dina was his “main squeeze”. Hell, he wasn’t nicknamed The Golden Banana for nothing!)

Natasha delivered their baby, a beautiful, bouncing bundle of baby girl-joy and named her Jordan-Leigh. Naturally, she attempted to contact Neil with the news, and he was presumably less than thrilled as Natasha had to repeatedly request for over two weeks that he take a paternity test to prove that he was, in fact, Baby Jordan’s father.

Sometime after the paternity test, (which proved that, surprise, surprise, in spite of having absolutely no paternal instinct whatsoever, Neil Wilson was a daddy!) Neil and Dina buggered off on holiday somewhere. She still, in spite of being his long- term girlfriend, had NO IDEA that Neil was harboring an undisclosed infant daughter somewhere in the Western Cape.

That all changed when they returned from their getaway and one of Neil’s “incidental” girlfriends contacted Dina with the news. We can also only assume that Dina may have gone a tad postal at the news. I know that the following events, although premeditated and executed with clear vision and thought, are the product of an insanely sick mind.

Neil was having a bit of trouble with Natasha, apparently. She had the cheek to ask for child support (!) the gall to try to introduce her daughter to Neil’s parents (horrors!) and the downright insolence to pry as to whether the parents of this fine, upstanding father would be interested in pursuing any kind of relationship with their grandchild (shock!)

Obviously, dear Neil was raised in a household where “responsibility” and “accountability” are words bandied about on crazy TV shows like Dr Phil, but never actually practiced. Neil grumbled about paying over the laughable pittance that he contributed to Baby Jordan’s upkeep and Natasha was told by his mother, Sandra, to “just keep your baby away from our family.”

All of this made Dina very, very angry. Not in the way that it might make you or I angry, dear reader, oh no – Dina had no thought for Baby Jordan’s right to know her family or to have both parents pay toward her food and shelter. Her thoughts were more along the lines of not actually having all of her boyfriend’s time, love, income and attention lavished on her and her alone.

So she channeled her negativity the way most sociopathic baby-murderers do – she hired a bunch of hitmen to take care of her little problem. Naturally.

On June 15, 2005, Jordan-Leigh’s mommy was at work. She was tucked up safely in her crib in the home she shared with her granny and granddad, her uncle Dylan and her Mommy. Her teenage uncle was in the lounge, her nanny was close by, keeping an ear on her as she slept.

Four men rang the doorbell, pretending to be couriers. When Dylan answered, they pushed past him, bound and gagged him and the nanny and made their way into the nursery, where Baby Jordan–Leigh Norton was stabbed in the neck with such brute force that the knife cut into her tiny little neck vertebrae. She was six months old. She didn’t survive the attack.

Shortly after the news hit national levels, Neil Wilson received a text message from Dina Rodrigues, stating that she had “paid ten thousand Rand to make it go away.” Neil only bothered to offer this and other information to the police days after Dina was arrested. What a gem of a human being!

During Dina’s trial he drew horrified gasps from the assembled crowd when he stated that (Baby Jordan) was “always in my heart, on my mind” even though he had made contact with his daughter only once in her short life – at his paternity test! He has also stated that he “bought her something at Christmas, but I didn’t give it to her.”

Dina Rodrigues received a life sentence for the murder of Baby Jordan-Leigh Norton. Of her four co-accused; Sipho Nfazwe and Mongezi <img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-13132" title="Baby Jordan-Leigh Norton's grandparents Anastasia and Vernon" src="http://pysih.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/Baby-Jordan-Leigh-Nortons-grandparents-Anastasia-and-Vernon.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="225"style="margin-right: 10px; float: left;"/>Bobotyane will (hopefully) serve a life sentence in prison while the other two, Zanethemba Gwada and Bonginkosi Sigenu, will serve fifteen years each. (Until we have another Presidential Pardon designed to ease the tension of our over- crowded prisons!) Which hardly seems fair or just, considering that little Jordan didn’t even have fifteen MONTHS on this Earth.

People like this are poster children for WHY the death penalty should be reinstated in SA. It hardly seems right that for ten grand, a little baby was snuffed out purely because the woman who never even made it far enough to play the role of the wicked stepmother saw her mere existence as a massive inconvenience.

Although Neil Wilson was never implicated in any wrongdoing, it is my personal opinion that if the attitudes of himself and his family toward Natasha and Jordan Norton had been better, we probably would not be reading this right now.

There would be a little girl named Jordan-Leigh doing the things that little girls do with their mommies, bickering about having her hair brushed and being pushed on a swing and learning to read fairy- stories, but that didn’t happen because Neil was stupid and Dina was selfish and spoiled.

This is 24-year-old Jermaine Ruiz.

Jermaine Ruiz is that not-so-rare kind of man that women just seem to go gaga over. Jermaine has those good looks, that casual charisma, that jealous nature and the crazy behavior that women line up around the block for in order to mate with.

Good ol’ Jermaine was known around his neighborhood as someone who would exhibit wild mood swings, often coming into local stores with an attitude that could be described as, “Not nice.”

According to a local deli worker:

Sometimes he came in a little crazy. Sometimes he comes in nice and sometimes not nice. When he wasn’t nice, he’d boss us around. He comes in like, ‘I want something! I want this!’

Yes, Jermaine Ruiz is all alpha male, which he showed to the world on the 20th of January, 2010.

That was the Friday night when he decided that he just wasn’t going to take it anymore.

What was it?

Well, it was the fact that his girlfriend, 22-year-old Jessica Ybe, had mated with another alpha male – an alpha male who was currently in prison and who was going to be getting out soon.

Jermaine Ruiz, who had fathered fraternal twins with Jessica Ybe 7 months prior to this argument, felt that the fact that his babys’ momma wanted to continue her relationship with this other man was unacceptable.

Jessica Ybe, who had a 5-year-old and a 2-year-old from two previous nights of passion, got all up in Jermaine’s face, yo. She told him, in no uncertain terms, that she was going to have sex with whoever she wanted, whenever she wanted.

And, when you consider that out of her vagina may one day spring the person who eventually cures cancer, who are we to tell her that she might want to stop at 4 kids with 3 dads?

Ain’t nunya bidness, world. Stay out of her way.

Well, Jermaine Ruiz had a problem with her plans to have sex outside of marriage. And – respecting her exceptional uterus powers – Jermaine decided that the best way to end an argument about her having sex with another man would be to end her ability to have sex with another man.

So, after engaging in an extensive yelling match outside their apartment building, and after they slugged each other a few times inside the apartment building, Jermaine grabbed a knife and got all stabby.

Jermaine Ruiz started out by stabbing Jessica Ybe more than a dozen times. That resulted in her death.

Not satisfied with one death, Jermaine Ruiz went on a stabbing trifecta, plunging his blade home more than a dozen times each into both Jessica’s 5-year-old and her two-year-old. That resulted in two more deaths.

All that stabbing made Jermaine Ruiz a bit tired, so he left the bodies where they were and went to sleep. He might have checked in on the 7-month-old twins as they slept in the same apartment as their dead mother and dead half-sisters – but he probably didn’t.

The next day, after taking his own, living children to his mother’s house, Jermaine Ruiz told his mom what he’d done to the rest of his household. His mom, taken aback, notified the authorities about what her son had told her.

When the authorities stopped by Jermaine’s apartment to have a word with him, they discovered that he’d been busily working out the best way to cover up his crime.

Jessica Ybe was mostly wrapped up in plastic garbage bags, with her two little girls rolled up into a carpet with plastic bags on each end – presumably to keep their blood from leaking out.

The evidence at the scene was enough for police to place Jermaine Ruiz under arrest and led to Jermaine being charged for several counts of murder.

When members of the Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue responded to a call of a baby in distress at a home in Marlene Village, Oregon, they were ready for any problem involving a young child. Nothing is every routine when it involves small children, but I’m sure no one expected for the situation to end up developing the way it did on Saturday afternoon, June 6th, 2009.

Perhaps if they’d had a chance to see this picture of Korena Elaine Roberts they might have been a little more suspicious.

When rescuers arrived at the scene, the found the 28-year-old Roberts and an unidentified man along with a newborn infant. The man was performing CPR on the baby at the direction of the 911 dispatcher.

Roberts told the rescuers that she had just delivered the child. When the medics saw that there was a large amount of blood in the house, they decided to quickly send the child and Ms. Roberts to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Beaverton. Doctors at the hospital were not <img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-5339" title="heather-snivley" src="http://pysih.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/heather-snivley.jpg" alt="heather-snivley" width="170" height="136"style="margin-right: 10px; float: left;"/>able to revive the baby; they also discovered that Ms. Roberts had not delivered a child at anytime in the recent past.

Uh-oh.

Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies returned to the Roberts’ home and, after a brief search, found the body of a young woman hidden in the crawl space under the house. Police haven’t released the cause of death or the manner in which the child was delivered, pending an autopsy, but they did say the victim was killed by homicidal violence and her unborn male child did not survive.

Around 11:00 PM a man called the Washington County Sheriff’s Office to report that his pregnant girlfriend, Heather Megan Snively, was missing. It was soon determined that the victim at the Roberts’ home and Heather were the same person. She had moved to the area just recently from Maryland.

Heather’s boyfriend, who is the father of the baby, reported that she was missing because it was unusual for her not to come home by that time, Sgt. David Thompson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said. The boyfriend, who lived with Heather in Tigard, said she was in her third trimester of pregnancy. Thompson said he didn’t think she had any other children.

Korena Elaine Roberts has been charged with the murder of Heather Megan Snively, and will probably be charged with the murder of her newborn son as well. She is being held in the Washington County lockup without bail. The man who was at the house, described as Roberts’ live-in boyfriend, is cooperating with police and is not expected to be charged.

Terry King, 61, who lives next door to Roberts, told a reporter she has two other children, a girl around 10 years old and a boy around five. Both kids are now staying with relatives. King said that about a week ago, Roberts told his wife, Bridget, that she was pregnant and due in a month or so. King said he believed it was possible because Roberts was large enough to conceal a pregnancy, “to five or six months.”

Roberts “seemed normal enough, ” Terry King said. “I thought she was a little thick but not crazy.”

This kind of case always seems to get to me. Maybe it’s because of how selfish and self centered the perpetrators have to be in order to commit such a ruthless act. Maybe it’s the thought of what the victim must have had to endure while her child was ripped from her womb, and the terror she must have felt at that moment. Or maybe it’s just that I can’t stand people who take what they want and don’t give two shits who they hurt in the process.

Too many time these things start out as a woman faking a pregnancy to keep a man from leaving, which works fine for a while until 9 months roles around and she needs to produce the kid. These are the ones that make me the absolute craziest. You took a life, no, you sliced another person open and gutted her, all for the sake of your live-in penis? Oh yeah, it’s no wonder I always end up talking to myself after reading an article about a fool like this.

All I know is every time one of these pathetic losers tries to steal another baby from another innocent mother-to-be, my hackles go up. I hope that the people of Oregon throw the book at Korena Roberts, and she spends the rest of her worthless life in prison contemplating the two lives she ended just because wanted what she wanted.

UPDATE – 06/08/2009

Our resident research assistant, Melissa, came up with some interesting information about this case. It looks like Korena tricked Heather into the home by advertising free baby clothes on Craigslist. Melissa managed to find the adds through a Google search, which you can view here.

The funny thing is the original ads on Craigslist have been deleted. Now how did that happen, what with Korena Roberts sitting her fat ass in jail right now? Obviously the baby snatching was a premeditated act, and it’s possible the guy the police let go may be more involved than first thought.

Well, readers, here is another one of those stories. A love story where something has gone wrong. You know, you start off normal enough, how boy meets girl, boy dumps girl, boy gets new girlfriend, boy gets new girlfriend pregnant, and-right about here it gets screwy-girl runs over pregnant girlfriend in a jealous rage. Yes, something is not right here, and that something not right is a psycho bitch by the name of Monica Mercado.

Twenty-seven year old Monica Mercado and her unidentified boyfriend had recently split up. Anyone can tell you that break-ups definitely suck but are usually for the better. Granted, they can be painful and emotional. They can be downright excruciating in some cases. But hopefully, one tries not to look back, moves on, and ends up in a better place because of it all. Monica Mercado, unfortunately, did not posses this healthier outlook in regard to interpersonal relationships. Monica had some trouble letting go and moving on.

Conversely, Monica’s ex had no trouble moving on after their break-up. (Gee, I wonder why?) As a matter of fact, Monica’s ex did a pretty good job with the whole “moving on” thing. In a relatively short amount of time, he had hooked up with twenty-four year old Porsche Davis and the happy new couple was expecting a baby girl.
The fact that Monica’s ex had a new girlfriend and was expecting a baby was still not enough for Monica to cut her losses, tap out, and move on. Instead, Monica grew even more hateful of Ms. Davis and her resentment of the young, expecting mother grew into what has been described as a “jealous rage”.

On the morning of April 5th, Monica, while driving her Range Rover in the hood and spotted the very pregnant Ms. Davis walking in a South Los Angeles neighborhood located at 102nd Street and Towne Avenue. Monica got out of her vehicle, and the two exchanged some “not so nice” words. After all was said and done, Monica then hopped back into her Range Rover, threw her car into drive, and purposefully plowed into Ms. Davis.

Mercado then sped off, leaving the pregnant woman seriously injured. Porsche Davis was rushed to the hospital with numerous broken bones and injuries. Medical staff had no choice but to induce labor because of the acute trauma which the fetus endured as a result of the attack. Porsche Davis’ tiny baby girl was delivered by cesarean section, immediately placed on life support, then died a short time later.

Monica Mercado turned herself in to authorities later that afternoon. Porsche’s father, Milton Davis, in an interview given to a local news network, stated that he is praying for Monica Mercado because he feels that anyone who could commit a crime of this nature has “nothing but hatred in them”. Mr. Davis stated that the physical pain which his daughter, now in stable condition, is enduring, is nothing in comparison to the psychological trauma which she will have to live with forever.

Monica Mercado was arraigned for the attempted murder of Porsche Davis and for the murder of Ms. Davis’ baby girl on April 7th, 2009. She is currently in jail and is being held in lieu of a two million dollar bond. If convicted, she will face life with possibility of parole.

With the Lori Drew deal in the news so much, and parental responsibility being such a hot topic of conversation now-a-days, you would think just about every parent would be more conscience of their child’s, and especially their own, behavior. And you’d be right–just about.

Middletown is a nice, quiet city of about 45,000 people located on the Connecticut River a little south of Hartford. Our biggest claims to fame are Wesleyan University, the most expensive institute of higher learning in the United States, the Arrigoni Bridge, which spans the Connecticut River, and Joey Lagano, the rookie NASCAR and Nationwide Series driver.

Cassandra Cooper seemed to like it here. She raised her sixteen-year-old daughter in our nice little town, and sent her to Middletown High School like most city parents do. Apparently Cassandra’s little girl got into a normal online name calling session with another female MHS student on the night of Thursday, November 20th, 2008. This was a continuation of a personal problem the two girls were “working out” between themselves for some time. You know, the sort of thing teenage girls get into every day in every school in every town in America.

Ms. Cooper (The Elder), being a concerned parent, decided to address the trouble directly with the school’s administration. Sounds O.K. to me so far. Sometimes a little face to face with a neutral third party is just the thing to nip a little problem in the bud before it becomes a big problem.

This is where Cassandra lost me. While she and her daughter were waiting to see the principle of the high school, the other young lady passed by. In that split second, Mom forgot all about setting an example for her child and being a responsible parent.

According to Police Lt. Margarette Liseo, the pair followed her down the hall to a stairwell where the younger Ms Cooper assaulted the victim while Cassandra egged her on. Mom then allegedly held the victim while the juvenile continued the assault.

Nothing like a two on one beat down to help create a little Mother-Daughter bonding, right?

“The mother was holding my daughter so her daughter could punch my daughter in the face,” said the victim’s mother.

The 15-year-old victim was brought to the emergency room at Middlesex Hospital where she was treated for back pain, a black eye she received and other bruises and scratches.

Cooper, 38, was charged with risk of injury to a minor, second-degree unlawful restraint, second-degree threatening, first-degree criminal trespassing and conspiracy to commit assault, and held on 100,000 dollars bond. According to her court records, a bondsman paid her bail. Her last court appearance was December 8th and she’s due back in front of the Judge on January 9th, 2009 to enter a plea.

So life goes on in my nice little home town, made just a little less nice thanks to Cassandra Cooper.

Getting dumped is something nobody likes to experience. For some, it’s because they believe this person was “the one.”

For others, it’s because they find out the person they thought they knew was just a creep.

The third category however is more ominous. It’s composed of people who believe they are god’s gift to earth and no matter how cheating or abuse they put their significant other through, that significant other had better not leave them or else.

27-year-old Emma Hart from England is one of these people.

Emma Hart and Shaun Dangerfield had dated for a few years and had a five year old son together named Lewis. For whatever reason, their relationship didn’t work out. Shaun Dangerfield and Emma Hart broke up and moved on…

…well, Shaun did at least.

Shaun Dangerfield found a new girlfriend and tried to work out a reasonable custody arrangement with Emma over Lewis.

Emma Hart didn’t take the breakup quite as well. Not at all.

She begged Shaun to take her back. She left tearful messages on his voicemail. She tried to buy him things in an effort to win him back.

When that didn’t work Emma Hart attempted one last ditch effort. She told friends and family that she had cancer and that she didn’t have much longer to live. That particularly insane and cruel attempt at deception also failed.

Realizing that Shaun was never going to come back to her, Emma Hart decided to move on with her life and come to a mutual custody agreement regarding their son.

Oh wait. No she didn’t.

No, Emma Hart decided to go a different route instead.

A few days before the 9th of December, 2007, Emma Hart sent a text message to Shaun saying “I know now what to do for the best.” She even signed it with a kiss. Shaun believed that the message signified her agreeing to a new custody arrangement.

It wasn’t.

It was a message that was a warning of what she was about to do.

On the 9th of December, 2007, Emma put her plan into action. She force-fed her 5-year-old son Lewis a lethal dose of painkillers and then drove to her mother’s house where she proceeded to kill herself.

That kind of thing is usually bad enough for most psychopaths, but Emma Hart wasn’t your average everyday psychopath.

She was a queen bitch psychopath.

Emma Hart left behind several notes, one that apologized to her family and explained that she would be with Lewis in heaven.

The rest were directed to her ex, Shaun, and were a little more antagonistic.

Among the charming notes Emma Hart left addressed to Shaun was this gem in reference to his new girlfriend:

Did you really think I was going to die and allow you to bring up our son… and play happy families?

Emma Hart also mentioned how he would suffer for the rest of his life as he had made her suffer:

You can enjoy your life now as you have nothing to stop you, ha ha.

And the clincher:

Just remember, it’s all your fault.

All of this came out in an inquest that was held several months later in July. During that inquest, Shaun broke down in tears and had to leave the room. Emma’s family was there as well. As you might expect from People You’ll See In Hell candidates, her family defended Emma Hart as a good mum and one who idolized her son.

One has to wonder what planet they’re on.

To Emma’s family and others people who have said Shaun must have done something or that Emma Hart was mentally ill I say one thing – BULLSHIT.

Emma Hart was nothing more than a narcissistic piece of garbage who couldn’t believe that anyone would dare to reject or leave her. She tried several tactics to get Shaun back including manipulation, lying, and stealing and when that didn’t work decided she would make him pay by killing the thing he loved most, their son.

Emma Hart was no different than the “fathers” who kill their children and taunt their wives about it afterwards. They just don’t get the sympathy that Emma has gotten in some circles, sympathy that should be reserved for Shaun and Lewis.

There’s only one part of Emma’s charming goodbye letters that might suggest she’s crazy. The idea that she’ll be joining her son in heaven. If there’s any justice, the last view she’ll have of her son is him waving “mommy” goodbye as she gets dropped straight into the depths of hell.

Married in May of 2008, Phiengchai Synhavong is a plus-size Laotian woman who is awfully handy with a knife.

Despite what she told her family members, and despite her rather rotund physique, Phiengchai Synhavong was not pregnant, although she had…plans…to…acquire….a baby.

On the 27th of June, 2008, the plan of Phiengchai Synhavong came together, much like the plans of that elite military group known as The A-Team, but with a lot more blood.

After enticing an acquaintance, 27-year-old Araceli Camacho Gomez, into her white 4×4 with the promise of some baby clothes, Phiengchai Synhavong somehow managed to overpower the 9-month-pregnant mother of two – which is not entirely surprising considering how vulnerable extremely pregnant women are.

After a struggle, Araceli Gomez ended up with her hands and feet tied with yarn and a gag in her mouth.

While Araceli Gomez watched in absolute abject terror, Phiengchai Synhavong brandished a box cutter-like craft knife and started in on the grisly work of cutting the 9-month-old baby boy out of the womb of the pregnant woman.

Lots of “Ow” there.

Really, we can only imagine the pain Araceli Gomez felt while being cut open, a pain which could only be ellipsed by the pain of knowing that the baby she had spent the better part of a year growing inside her was soon going to be taken into the care of the woman who was doing the killing.

Araceli Gomez, who lives in a small apartment with her husband Juan Campos – a migrant field worker – and their two children, died from blood loss after Phiengchai Synhavong pulled the baby out of her womb and delivered four strikes to Araceli’s chest with the box cutter.

With the bloody baby boy in her arms and the body of Araceli Gomez in her back seat, Phiengchai Synhavong drove off to a recreation area. After finding a likely spot, Ms. Synhavong dumped the corpse out of the SUV and, at 11:04 P.M., made a phone call to 911. After telling the 911 operator that she had just given birth in a parking lot by a J.C. Penny store, Phiengchai Synhavong mentioned that she thought the baby had died.

Paramedics responding to the call weren’t able to find Phiengchai Synhavong, but a second call that she made a few minutes later allowed the medical personnel to find her – parked in a shopping mall parking lot.

According to medical personnel, Phiengchai Synhavong had a death grip on a piece of umbilical cord.

A fire captain who arrived on the scene looked through the back of the woman’s SUV, which was covered with a “significant amount of blood and pieces of human tissue,” and pulled the baby boy out of the driver’s side of the rear door – which is a place you should never put your baby if you plan on keeping it fresh.

The baby and the apparent mother were both taken to a local hospital. The baby survived the encounter and was put on life support. Tests were run on the “mother,” tests which showed that Phiengchai Synhavong had definitely not just given birth.

Police, after finding out that the woman who had the baby in her car was not the mother of the baby, realized that somewhere out there, someone was missing a baby. They started looking for reports of missing pregnant women and quickly came across the missing persons report that Araceli Gomez’s husband had filed just a few hours prior. At about 9 that night, Juan Campos and the children had come home to their apartment and found the door open, the lights on and the phone missing.

A search of Phiengchai Synhavong’s purse revealed blue mechanic’s gloves soaked in blood, bloody paper towels, a box cutter, yarn, a baby bottle and baby socks. You can be sure that the defense lawyer assigned to the case of Phiengchai Synhavong will try to argue that those items can be found in any woman’s purse and that they’re not at all unusual.

The body of Araceli Gomez was found by police at about 1 in the morning as they searched through Columbia Park Trail. Going through cell phone records, police discovered that the location where Araceli Gomez was found was the same location that Phiengchai Synhavong had originally called 911 from – not the J.C. Penny parking lot as she wanted police to believe.

Phiengchai Sisouvanh Synhavong has been charged with first-degree murder. She is eligible for the death penalty.

The baby remained in critical condition as of the 2nd of July, 2008.

Update:
Salvador Campos spent weeks in a Spokane hospital after his mother, Araceli Gomez, was killed on the 27th of June, 2008. He was released to his father, Juan Felipe Campos Gomez, on the 30th of August, 2008.

Salvador Campos has suffered brain damage because of his premature birth and because he did not see a doctor during the first hours outside his mother’s womb, although the extent of the damage cannot be determined until he is older.

Documents requested to be sealed:

Judge Robert Swisher, a Benton County judge, decided that search warrant documents and 911 calls generated in the case of Phiengchai Sisouvanh Synhavong will remain sealed.

Defense attorneys asked that the materials on Phiengchai Sisouvanh Synhavong not be released to the public until a jury is seated in the potential death penalty case in March of 2009, but Judge Swisher said he would review his ruling in late October of 2008.

According to Judge Swisher:

This is a capital case and the defendant could very well be on trial for her life. The nature of the case will already draw heightened scrutiny through the judicial system. So I am going to continue the closure of the records for a limited period of time.

Judge Swisher cautioned Sisouvanh Synhavong’s lawyers to be prepared to show why that order should continue.

A hearing is tentatively set for the 29th of October, 2008, with Judge Swisher saying he may consider releasing the materials in their entirety or with portions redacted.

Prosecutor Andy Miller has until the 10th of February, 2009 to decide if he will seek the death penalty.
