25-year-old Christopher Lee McCuin here, who worked as a sheetrock hauler for a while, might look completely normal in his preppy little sweater there, actually isn’t.

Normal.

Not at all.

According to one of his neighbors, Christopher Lee McCuin would:

…stand in the roadway and wouldn’t let people pass and he would talk to himself – he was always acting crazy.

Well, maybe Christopher McCuin wasn’t acting.

Christopher McCuin was certainly known to the authorities, if not for his eccentric behavior. He had a history of violence – which most recently involved being charged with evading arrest and retaliation on the 9th of November, 2007. Looking at his criminal background history, he also had charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon as well as driving while intoxicated. In 2003, Christopher McCuin was sentenced to three years in prison for the aggravated assault charge.

22-year-old Amber Hill’s life had been disintegrating for a while.

Amber’s relationship with the father of her children, Jamie Cintron, had been going downhill.

Amber couldn’t concentrate on anything, much less the classes she had been taking at the Cleveland branch of Remington College so that she could get certified as a medical assistant.

She had two little girls to take care of, and it was a lot of work.

So Amber Hill, on the first of October, 2007, drowned little 4-year-old Jannelle Cintron, and 2-year-old Cecess Hill in the bathtub in her apartment.

Amber Hill called her babies’ daddy up and let him know that she didn’t have to worry about the kids anymore – that they “were at peace.”

What should happen with 16-year-old Walter Smith Jr.?

What can we, as a society, do with people like this, individuals who throw what can only be described as a temper tantrum that harms or kills other people?

So how did Walter Smith Jr. manage his anger?

Well, on the morning of the third of September, 2007, Walter Smith grabbed a sledgehammer and went after the girl pictured here to the left – Betsy Mary Smith, his 22-year-old sister.

Walter Smith Jr. whacked her a few times, then grabbed a knife and stabbed her.

Then he ripped her clothes off and raped her.

When his niece, two-year-old Andrea Costello, started crying, Walter Smith Jr. hit her with the sledgehammer. On the head.

Shaunte Mitchell is a 29-year-old mother who, after setting fire to her apartment, went out walking at 2:30 in the morning.

Naked.

With her 7-week-old baby.

After a motorist stopped and asked her what she was doing, she told him, “I’m taking my baby to Satan.”

While he called 911 and police were responding to the scene, Shaunte Mitchell laid her baby in the middle of the road, straddling the yellow stripe.

Fortunately, police were able to find the child before it was hit by a car.

30-year-old Anjun Cavanaugh liked to smoke pot.

She smoked two or three joints every day.

She was also suffering from psychotic delusions, which were reportedly getting worse.

Anjun Cavanaugh believed a device had been hidden in household electrical items to give her shocks. She thought Paul Buckley, the father of her child, was abusing him. She thought lots of weird things.

In June of 2006, Anjun Cavanaugh took her 5-year-old son Dylan into a bedroom, along with a portable barbecue.

She sealed the door and turned on the barbecue.

Anjun and Dylan Cavanaugh slowly died as the carbon monoxide from the grill filled the room.
