You would think that after the Diane Schuler tragedy people would have learned to a. not fill a vehicle up with children and drive while intoxicated and b. not stand by and let someone else fill up a car with children and drive while intoxicated. That’s what you would think, anyway.
Sadly, I have to report to you another case of a jackass doing just what I described in (a.) while several people, for reasons I will never understand, acted on (b.). One man in particular behaved in an especially outrageous manner in this regard, enough so that he almost earned himself a nomination to the PYSIH All-Star team. More on that later. Read more... I like to think that being from Michigan and braving the harsh winters the state has to offer makes me somewhat of an expert on surviving the cold. I also like to think I am in a position to say freezing to death would be one of the most heinous ways to die.
I spent last winter on the border of North Dakota/Montana—and if facing a Michigan winter didn’t lead me to this conclusion, then North Dakota winters certainly would have. Being bitterly cold is by far one of the most dreadful positions I have ever been in. Read more... (1826 words, 6 images, estimated 7:18 minutes reading time)

I have written a few articles for this site and those of you who have read my pieces know that I often use humor and sarcasm to develop a story line or to make a point. Some people have criticized my writing style, critiqued my writing ability (or lack thereof in their humble opinion) agreed with my views or opposed them. I have been flippant, vulgar and downright nasty at times writing a piece or responding to someone else’s opinion. I will not be utilizing any of those traits for this article. I do not need to resort to vulgarity or to use sarcasm to entail the horror that was perpetuated against a child – the facts of the case speak for themselves. Read more... A big part of my job as editor of this website involves reading online newspaper articles, and between researching the stories I write myself, fact checking the ones that our writers submit and checking out the 10 or 12 articles that are sent in by readers as suggestions each week, I read about alot of twisted, sick individuals and the unthinkable crimes they commit.
You’d think, after all this time, I could comfortably say I’d seen it all, and to be honest, there have been days when I have finished an article and felt that man just couldn’t commit a more cruel, evil act. Richard Anthony McTear Jr., the clown who threw a three month old baby out of a speeding car is a perfect example. Read more... (943 words, 2 images, estimated 3:46 minutes reading time)

Here’s a nice little something I’ve never heard of before.
How many of us have heard of parents who rub a little whiskey or brandy on their baby’s gums to ease the pain of teething, or even used that old home remedy themselves?
Quite a few I’d guess.
Now, taking it to the next level, how many of us have heard of people who slip their kid a little booze to help them get to sleep when they’re cranky or uncooperative? Not so many, but it’s still not that big a deal to some parents.
This is 26-year-old Jessica Ann Barlow Miner. Read more... (502 words, 2 images, estimated 2:00 minutes reading time)

These two beauties are Gayle and Sheila Muhs. Gayle, 45, and Sheila, 45, are VERY protective of their privacy. They put up a sign in front of their property in Liberty County, Texas that reads “Trespassers will be shot. Survivers (sic) will be reshot!! Smile I will.” They mean it, too – They once took a shot at their next door neighbor.
Nice people, the Muhs.
The Coffeys are nice people too. Donald, 36, his wife Becky, and their two children Donald Jr., 7, and Destiny, 5, are described by their neighbors as nice, simple country folk who never bothered anybody and were always there to lend a helping hand. They enjoyed taking their vehicles off road in the woods near their Westlake, TX subdivision. Read more... (1232 words, 3 images, estimated 4:56 minutes reading time)

For those of you who do not have children, when the doctor places your firstborn child into your arms and you look into their eyes, you are instantly filled with awe at what you have created, intense love for the little being in your arms and a strong sense of responsibility. As you stare at the slimy mass of goo that is crying and changing colors, you are instantly transformed from being a woman into being a mom. You know that you will do whatever it takes to make sure that your child is safe, secure, happy, and healthy. Read more... (1463 words, 3 images, estimated 5:51 minutes reading time)

Let us all give a rousing PYSIH welcome to Timothy Kooyman (don’t you just love this name) of Rancho Cucamonga, California. Little Timmy likes cats. I mean he REALLY likes cats. He has an extensive history of torturing and killing them. As well as making false bomb threats, history of mental illness, dysfunctional family, etc. but that is another story.
Our little tale begins when Kooyman was first convicted of torturing, mutilating and killing cats in November 2007. When animal control officers responded to Kooyman’s residence on an abuse allegation, he stated that the injuries of the cat were self-inflicted because the cat “hit itself.” Now, lets all picture a little cat punching itself in the face with its little paws, to the point where it’s nose bleeds. Got the mental image? Ok, let’s continue. He was convicted, and placed on probation in April of 2008. He was ordered to undergo counseling and to not have any contact with animals (does anyone really think this works?). Timmy didn’t exactly do what he was told to do (Gomer Pyle says, surprise, surprise, surprise). Read more... (1141 words, 4 images, estimated 4:34 minutes reading time)
